Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling recently answered some fan questions on Twitter, detailing the next couple of fixes for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

In regards to the One Man Army complaints, he stated that “we’ve been testing and experimenting with multiple OMA tweaks looking for the best solution.” He later added, “we’re testing what should be the final tweak to OMA. If that goes through, I’ll post when to expect an update.”

As for the rock glitch on Fuel, he wrote the following: “No ETA on it, but I’m hoping to know soon and yes, the Rock on Fuel will be included in those updates.”

The Capture the Flag Only playlist will also be making a return: “Yes. No ETA on when, it should make a return in the next playlist update.” Infinity Ward is also looking to add more hardcore modes: “Theres a good chance of it, but still testing. Some hopefully no bugs arise from it and we should see a good number of HC modes.”

Don’t expect anything to be done soon with the Spinning Skull Emblems, however, as Infinity Ward is concentrating on the patches and playlists updates first: “No news, they’ve been sidetracked with testing patch and playlist updates, which took priority.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released on November 10, 2009, for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

If you consider yourself the type of person who likes getting new video game features for free, then our next MAG patch — version 1.07, due in early August — is definitely something for you.

Yes friends, in just over a week from now, players will be treated to a number of features that you’ve been asking us for all summer in addition to a few surprises. Like what, you ask? Like these:

• A new “Happy Hour” Double XP bonus that’s applied to the first hour of any player’s gameplay session in a 24-hour period.
• Suppression will join Sabotage as a “Faction Neutral” gameplay mode, allowing any PMC to battle each other on any Suppression map.
• Faster download and patching code that allows us to update MAG with more content and bigger file sizes in a speedier way.
• Redesigned versions of the Flores Basin (Raven) and Alyeska Terminus (Valor) Domination maps that include new obstacles and repaired exploits.
• New lighting effects for more attractive and realistic environments.
• Various fixes to address bugs or glitches to improve MAG’s overall performance.

Of course, there are a number of other additions and fixes coming with MAG v1.07, but the points listed above should whet your appetites while you wait for the full list of changes closer to the update.

Cheaters and griefers aren’t looked upon well in the Old West and Rockstar Games is looking to solve the problem in an upcoming update to Red Dead Redemption for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

The title update looks to solve the problem of cheater in the multiplayer portions of the game by introducing measures to counter hacking and cheating.  Those that are caught face being banned from playing Red Dead Redemption’s multiplayer for a period that Rockstar will determine.

Griefers are also being dealt with in the “Free Roam” portion of the game by giving player’s the option to flee or respawn in another area of the map if they are being bullied.  Players who kill others will also have the law set upon them after getting a six kill streak in Free Roam.  They will be tagged as “Most Wanted” as well to let other players know their status as a player-killer.

So when will this title update arrive?  Within the next month according to RockStar.

Capcom has announced that a patch for Lost Planet 2 is to be released.

The update will include difficulty recalibration, balancing, various bug fixes, and re-spawn check points have been added to each section of a map and the boss area.

Weapons have also been readjusted, the speed of a players dash has been updated, and loads more.

PS3 gets the patch on June 7, and the one for Xbox 360 is in the works.

On Thursday 3rd June the PlayStation 3 Bad Company 2 servers will go down for maintenance. On your side of things at around 08:00 UTC (09:00 UK, 10:00 Europe, 02:00 Pacific) you will start to see prompts to update your PS3 when you next put Battlefield: Bad Company 2 in your disc drive.

The update includes the following changes:

• Kit images added in spawn menu
• Fixed the “required rank” field on the unlock items specified on the W&G page
• Added M14, NS 2000 and G3 in-game unlock pop-up when the requirements for unlocking them are reached
• Added a server side check of the veteran status of the players
• Award bugfix for “Win all 4 game modes” (it had marksman headshot as a dependency)
• Garand did not track anything, Thompson tracked Garand.
• Increased the penalty points for TeamKill and TeamDamage
• Increased the reward points for Objective Actions (Flag Cap/Assist, Arm/Disarm/Destroy/Damage/TeamDestroy/TeamDamage)
• Fixed veteran rank number not showing up in ingame scoreboard
• The southpaw setting now works for the anti-air gun and the Stationary AT
• Collectible weapon messages fixed

Now you can go out and get your Garand stats you have all been waiting for.

Edit: This update will go out on PS3 in all regions including Japan.

Xbox 360 update is also in the works and is due in the very near future.

Naughty Dog has unwittingly disabled two of its online multiplayer modes with the release of the latest patch.

Title update 1.08 disables both The Lab and Double cash.

Thankfully Naughty Dog has revealed via twitter that it is aware of the situation and is hard at work on a solution.

The title update is currently only available in Pal regions so users in other parts of the world and those in Europe who have not yet updated their game will not be affected by this bug.

Zipper Interactive community manager Jeremy Dunham has said the developer will be releasing information on the next MAG patch very soon.

Posting on the game’s official forums, he had this to say:

“Info on our next patch will be coming next week (but not all of it — it’s so large that it will take multiple updates to tell you about it) and info on our bigger DLC will be after that (before E3).”

SOCOM 4’s announcement caused uproar in March, with fans concerned Zipper would no longer support the 250-man shooter.

Zipper has always denied that it will stop updating MAG, saying it will continue to support the game for the foreseeable future.

MAG was released late last year.

EA and DICE released a new server software update for PC players of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 yesterday.

According the update, the server is being installed in the server hosts with the new version putting 20 percent less of a load on the CPU.

Hit detection was also improved, along with some other fixes. You can read the announcement through the official message boards.

Patch notes:

• Several common crash fixes. Especially those which have monitoring scripts that rely on the Remote Admin interface should see stability improvements.
• PunkBuster can send commands to Remote Admin interface (so ‘pb_sv_task 0 -1 ’ works)
• Veteran-rank handling corrected (it was broken in R6 and possibly earlier)
• Switched back to Release version of the low-level networking library; less debug output but higher performance
• Increased the initial server reconnection interval to 30+rand(30) seconds
• PB GUID generation is now based on EA account IDs (it used to be based on persona names)
• Added new command line options which allow providers to easily maintain server GUID’s

Also, Steam is offering a Battlefield Bad Company 2 Squad Pack that includes four copies of the shooter for the price of three so you can give away a few to pals.

DICE has announced a patch for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 that was due to drop yesterday will now release today.

The reason why it never came out previous was due to the developer finding some serious bugs with the update, such as game crashing. But now it’s fixed and when the patch does decide to show, you can resume to your normal schedule.

Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling has tweeted that the Care Package fix is now available on Xbox Live.

Modern Warfare 2 players on Xbox 360 just received an update today.

Sent to Microsoft for certification last week, the patch fixes the Care Package exploit, normalizes the package, fixes emergency airdrop grenade and sentry sprint speeds and loads more.

Good to know it’s finally available for folks.

Modern Warfare 2 will get its first bit of DLC this spring on the console before anything else.

Jeremy Dunham has today revealed that MAG is set to receive a small patch, of 300Kb, tomorrow morning. You will, as per usual, be prompted to download it upon booting up the game.

Its main purpose is to mend issues that players may have been noticing with the skies in-game, and will provide a little more ‘visual fidelity’ when looking upward.

Alongside this, a number of maintenance fixes will be made within the servers meaning that players may experience some downtime between the usual window of 1am Pacific/ 4am Eastern/ 9am GMT and 3am Pacific/ 6am Eastern/ 11pm GMT.

Patch details are as follows;

* Server performance enhancements with a focus on reducing lag issues.
* Lowered chances of encountering 5:5 errors
* Added additional statistics-focused servers

Modern Warfare 2 update 1.05 has gone out for the PS3, but everyone will have to wait for patch 1.06 to fix the infamous Javelin glitch. Let’s hope Sony approves it fast, since they seem reluctant to police the cheaters.

Robert Bowling, the Infinity Ward community manager, tweeted that 1.05 fixed some matchmaking issues. Update 1.06 is “still coming down the pipeline,” he says. It’ll clean up the Javelin exploit, and also fix areas where players could get stuck in world geometry, such as on the rocks Afghanistan.

My guess is 1.06 will be delivered ASAP but there’s no word on when that’ll be, specifically.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is set to receive a network optimization patch alongside the game’s first DLC at the end of October, according to executive producer Sion Lenton. In an interview with Eurogamer, Lenton said the team at Codemasters has planned for more downloadable content, but has yet to decide what the new content will be.

“It’s not a lot of fuss for us to make new content – it’s actually quite easy for us to get it out there, with regards to things like levels, game modes, etc,” Lenton said. What is being fussed about are the bevy of balance issues players of the military shooter have vocalized on the game’s official forum. According to Lenton, the upcoming patch is set to make the game “flow a bit better.” The patch comes at a good time, hoping to catch players before they “flow” directly into that other military shooter launching in November.

We are working hard on Patch 1.60 and we are really excited about it. After the patch is released, it will soon be followed by the promised DLC pack that you have been waiting for! We know how badly you want to get your hands on that and we are looking forward to getting it to you!

As we have mentioned before, Patch 1.60 will contain some free DLC which will be available to everyone.
