This is such a joke!  Ok, let's say I was originally planning on purchasing the 40 GB at $499 ... now it's $399 BUT, they are now no longer backwards compatible.  So I'm right back up to the $499 price tag.  WHAT'S THE FREAKIN' POINT?!?!?  The only people who are going to buy the cheaper 40 GB machine are those who have never owned a Playstation, since they don't own any PS 2 games.

 

I just can't justify that much $ on a VIDEO GAME!

 

I hate Sony.  >:(

ya i would rather save money and just keep your ps2 hooked up you dont need backwards compatable. it just makes it easier having it
