Karate Kid Remake..

Yep...Its getting close... I first heard about this movie almost a year ago.

 

When I first heard about Jadan Smith as the new Karate Kid, I wasnt too excited, I mean I grew up wit hRalph Maccio(sp?)But They have a website up now.

They changed the name to Kung Fu Kid, but have recently changed it back to Karate Kid. and to be quite honest I am excited for it...

They would have used an older kid. Just don't see how much excitement could come out of watching an 11 year old kid kick another 11 year old kid's ass. It'll be like watching kids fighting during recess in elementary school. I really like the idea of a karate kid remake... they just got the karate "kid" part all wrong imo.

Looks good. I'll take my boys to see it. They wanted to watch that trailer over and over.

 

On a side note, part of what made Karate Kid so great was our age when we watched it. Watching a remake as an adult will naturally be different.

You're right, but the original movie was played by Ralph Macchio who was in his early 20's at the time and the role portrayed a teenager. So going off of that, it just seems a bit weird to now see the part being played by an 11 year old. But, I am sure young kids will love the movie though

I don't think it'll even hold a flame against the original.

I saw the previews, it looks alright, but...the only good thing about is Jackie, of course, and he's not quite old enough...as for the brat...Meh...I prefered the kid from The Outsiders, as that was my favorite book and movie growing up.
