well.. PS3 had the reputation of not being able to hack... as you can see it took 3 years to hack it.. xbox took months LOL, and let's not start with the PSP..

 

so yeah.. if it's hacked then you could do alot of things pretty much like a hacked PSP.... including playing illegal copies. badass cheating in games.. doing W/E the fuck you want with the PS3.

thing is that like Xbox.. you can expect the badass ban hammer they dropped a while ago.. so it's not safe anymore.. but it's still pretty cool.. the PS3 has finally being hacked.

Yea like 500,000 somthing XBL users were reported Banned.. apparently there was a way for Microsoft to ping the motherboard and find additional hardware or modifications.. and they shut those user names down. Im not sure if xbox has a mac address like the ps3 and how they go about shutting them down individually but i believe there is not much you can do to get around the ban... i personally think that hacked consoles although they do lead to free games and such, it also leads to glitches and exploits of games as well.. so this is a huge disappointment for me as a gamer... but i can acknowledge the achievement that has been accomplished as well.. even if i dont approve of it .

Well...being in my line of work ... It wont be long until sony will deal with people who have a hacked system. Yes everything that connects to the internet in some sort of manner has a mac address. Every mac address is unique so im sure it wont take long at all to identify them.

 

Microsoft's system is crap for security. Their engineer's couldn't find their way out of a box with the top open if they wanted to, more less secure the xbox. Sony has done a supurb job protecting their systems. I am still a believer that this will be squashed quite fast.
