Anyone here offended by my sig ? Better yet up until I posted this and you just now are going to read it has anyone even noticed it ? Becouse accounting to UF it is worth giving me a 5 point infraction everyday. But how funny it is that's it's a singular staff member, who sametime everyday sends me a pm and it just so happens to be after I voice my displeasure about UF. I'm at 15 points now, 15 more I get a 2 day ban, but just wondering if it was so over the top as they or should I say he says.

Personally, I think your calling yourself a cheater by that poem and cheating obviously is not condoned here at UF. It does not set the right tone about what UF stands for to any new members comming in here and reading something that you post under. I sir think your trying to stir the pot, unless you actually are a cheater. Then you just don't belong here.

This is all I am going post in order to clarify. Our new internal Staffing structure is now in place.

 

This Staff Member has been assigned to the Community / Forum team. Therefore, it is his role to use the infraction system we have in place if the request to remove a signature or picture that Urgent Fury does not deem supports the no cheating values (in this instance).

 

We chose this route instead of doing like most gaming forums, by either 1. removing your signature for you or 2. By only allowing users the right to display a signature upon admin approval or 3. by having a certain number of posts.

 

This is not your personal playhouse to do whatever you want to get away with whatever you want. We want to allow members the freedom to display their signatures with pride by not limiting their sizes to what most places do. But if we find the context of any signature, whether verbal or graphical is misrepresentative, then our Community / Forum mod(s) will ask that it be removed or replaced. If this is refused we will continue to issue warnings, if anyone continues to refuse it, then the built in system will prevent access until you choose.

I would like to add something here along the same lines as AC (i.e. UF rules). As a reminder to all, entry into UF is not only based on your actions "on the battlefield," so to speak, but also in how you carry yourself and represent your clans here on the forums.

 

Last, take it or leave it, but you are hurting DE's opportunity to compete within UF each and every time you post threads that are seemingly posted to "stir the pot," causing unnecessary drama. There is a right way to do things and a wrong way to do things. And many community members have given you different suggestions as to other ways to appropriately handle yourself on these forums. Unfortunately, each and everytime, you reply with more negativity and inciteful words. What you need to remember is the very community that you so enjoy getting a rise out of, is the very community that will decide on DE's entry into UF. So if your clan is truly interested in being accepted as a contributing clan into this community and desires the opportunity to compete here, you really should reconsider your actions as of late.

Nice one Hippie. Letting them believe they will get a chance to play at UF. DE needs to remember that even the qualifying tournaments like Black or Endurance will be invite to participate. Not allllll who apply are guaranteed admittance.

Community members are MORE than welcome to voice opinions. There is actually a forum section JUST for that very thing. It's called the Suggestion Box, but I have yet to see Last use that. It's not voicing your opinions that are the problem, it's HOW you voice your opinion. And I speak from experience. I actually voiced my opinion and disagreed with and "called out" UF (as Last likes to say). I even stepped down as a Ranger Officer, however, I did it in a

respectful, constructive manner.

 

Guess what? I was asked to continue to be a Ranger Officer and help work out the kinks. Do you know why? Not because I'm special or a part of the "good 'ol boy club" or a member of a long-standing UF clan. (I'm not even in a clan currently and haven't even gamed with the majority of people on this forum.) And there were staffers/community members/Rangers that even disagreed with my opinion. But, again, it was because I wasn't a straight-up a-hole about it. So, moral of the story, it's not WHAT you say, but HOW you say it.

 

Now concerning the idea of one person keeping an entire clan from participating ... it seems to me his clan needs to reign him in. Just as ONE person cheating during a match can get you the boot, so can ONE person who can't play nice in the forums. The fact is, you represent your clan both in the game and in the forums. Furthermore, UF "approved" clans also represent UF. How does that reflect on UF when you go to another forum, calling yourself a UF clan and stirring up unnecessary drama? That's a headache that UF just doesn't need.

 

You know, it really doesn't have to be as difficult as everyone is making it out to be. You fight fair on the battlefield and play nice in the forums and you are good. If you have concerns or complaints or suggestions, post them in the appropriate area and leave the drama at home. If you can do those things, you will have no trouble, whatsoever.

I basically see today what has existed for years here on this forum: The administrators having to type out paragraph upon paragraphs of tip-toeing is courteous logic to explain things to those who, plainly put, get their rocks off in being a dick. A big, sweaty, hairy, wart-ridden dick. Needless to see in a porn, even less so in the arena of this forum. However, they will always remain.

 

I never learned to just ignore them when I ran UF.

The current administrators will never learn to ignore them as they run UF now.

Probably because they have pride, as others did in the past, on how their property is conveyed by those who don't really give a shit about the opinions that they're mindlessly putting forth, but just concerned that they GET to put in their mindless opinion.

It's sad that it just can't be ignored and, like some little crybaby kid who hit his elbow on the table leg, the crying will stop as soon as they know no one is running to appease the tantrum.

A few things I would like to point out

 

1. You keep saying I'm hurting my clans chances at playing here. Well how can that be when we weren't planning on playing in endurance or any other tourny, once we found out no one had any plans on what to do.

 

2. I'm still here because I'm willing to post the things people are afraid to say or would rather just ignore and hope it goes away. If you don't like what I have to say then just skip on over my post and go to the next one.

 

3. Tow you're one funny 40 something year old man. For years you have came here and posted your long walls of text talking down to anyone who says anything negative about UF. You might not agree with how I said things or what I said but I've gotten a lot of responses from people who do agree with me but are just not willing to speak out because they know they will get this reaction from the "old vets" at these forums.

 

Everyone calls this a community but this is a gated community. If someone does not fall in line with everyone else then it just seems like the community grabs their pitchforks and chases them out of town and then wonders why more people are afraid to come here or post in these forums. I want you all to do me a favor and go through the threads and the topics. Tell me honestly if you see anyone new ever posting in the forums ? If you take out my threads and the Patent Pending thread no one at UF would have anything to talk about other then cooking and the latest movies.

 

Through out everyone of my post I have never called out or talked negatively about a single person, my post where general oversights of how UF is today and what I think needs to be done to fix things. But it just seems some people are allowed to speak negatively about others and just get away with it, and to some people that's just unfair.

 

I leave you with this, UF once was a community that was build and ran by people who did it for the love of the game. The people who are apart of UF now do it for the love of the... and that's just it you can't finish that sentence. Do they do it for money ? Do they do it for the attention and prestige ? Do the do it for the community ? None of those reasons really bother me, I just wish the UF community knew what to expect here at UF in the future and not get the famous line "You'll just have to trust us." I really believe if the owners or staff would just make a post laying out their plans for the future then everyone would feel much better about where the new UF is heading.

 

But it's no longer my concern as I and my clan have decided to play else where on new and soon to be upcoming ventures. I just wish UF luck and will still voice my opinion on matters that arise at UF, but at least now I'll be able to do it from the outside.

 

Now I will let this and my other threads die and lurk in the shadows until it's time for me to come out from under my bridge and make a statement.

And THAT is the very reason that this tourney never ended up like a crap GameBattles where every cheat and every shitty attitude could come home to roost.

Quality control here at UF was done 50% by the admins, and 50% by the community. The community treasures the environment here and would like to preserve it as much as possible.

Whether you believe the Admins are doing it or not is irrelevant. Because there's a STAFF.

If you see the Staff crying foul, then you know something is wrong here. Then you know there's some shady shit going on behind the curtain.

But the Staff is the safety in the gun...the dam holding back the tidal wave. The Staff are YOUR representation that things are being steered correctly by a small few.

By spewing the shit that you carelessly leave all over the floor, you not only disrespect the tourney that allows you to post and the Admins that provide a place for people to game, but you also disrespect the time and energy that the Staff volunteer to make sure UF stays true for its players.

And they really don't have to lay shit out for you or anyone. Their plans are their plans. Do you go complaining to the writers of your favorite tv show that you want to know what happens on the season finale in the middle of the season, or do you just tune in, sit back, and watch the fucking show? It's up to you to decide whether or not you want to tune in next week, but guess what, you get NO understanding or "blueprint" for what's coming up. I don't see why UF needs to be so different.
