The REVOLUTION Has Begun - SOCOM 1 HD!

Recommended Posts

As SOCOM fans, we all know the importance of SOCOM 1 & SOCOM 2. One big way to let SONY know how important the online features of those two games are to us, is by all uniting on the concept in one place. We did this with a SOCOM 2 HD poll. We are now doing it with a SOCOM 1 HD on SONY's BlogShare.

If S1 & S2 are voted the in the top 10, I cannot fathom how SONY could ignore it. This movement could do something as simple as turn SOCOM 5 into more of a "classic experience", or could even give us the homerun millions of SOCOM fans have waited almost 8 years for...

S1 HD, S2 HD, or even a SOCOM Legacy that gives us S1-CA.

Our BlogShare request is a simple one. S2 HD was a bit specific on using a "MAG" engine. Our idea is a broad one. We don't care who the developer is, or what engine is used... we simply want the SOCOM Multiplayer experience most of us fell in love with on the PS2. S1 sold over 3.4M copies. How many other remakes have been released who didn't hit those numbers? And very few truly revolutionized a console the way S1 did with the network adapter and headsets.

Some of you have given up hope on this franchise, but the fight isn't over comrades. With "grass roots" developers emerging, with the SOCOM fanbase being one of the loudest voices on the PlayStation forums, with our favorite games in the Top 10 on SONY's BlogShare out of all "SONY related ideas" posted in general, I'd say we are on the right track. Vote and leave a comment. The revolution has begun.

wouldn't it be more effective to flood their mailboxes with paper and mail stating our desire for better games aka a little old school flavor? I mean really, who cares about online blogs...they obviously don't because their own boards are flooded with players saying how much the newer games have blown.

In Israel, companies that sold cottage cheese (a huge food over there, and its better than the crap we get here), were raising the prices on their product to double the previous amount. The country took to facebook to organize a boycott, garnering so much support that the companies backed down and kept the original pricing (or close to it)

While I'm not saying that would work better than some blog or forum posts, an actual boycot or some physical show of support is needed. (and lets face it...americans don't have the discipline to NOT buy crappy games...that much has been proven, and that is why they don't give a rat's ass about what we actually WANT anymore...we'll buy anything they shove down our throats)

So either do some real talk and show them, or just give up.

I think the SOCOM PSP version will come to the PSN before this ever happens.

PSP Games Coming to PS3 With HD Visuals, Extra Content

Sony today unveiled a new initiative whereby select PlayStation Portable titles will be ported to the PlayStation 3, with improvements made along the way to (hopefully) make the whole thing worthwhile.

It's called the PlayStation Portable Remaster Series, and sees certain PSP games re-released on the PS3 with enhancements like exclusive new content, HD graphics, control pad support, 3D visuals and more.

There's even multiplayer compatibility, with the PS3 versions of the game able to be played over Sony's Ad Hoc multiplayer service for the PSP.

Most interesting, and promising for existing PSP gamers, is that save games for these titles will work on both systems, so you can take the same campaign from PSP to PS3 and back again.

The first game announced for this line is smash hit (in Japan) Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, which will be re-released on the PS3 this Summer (in Japan). Sony says more game announcements from more publishers will be coming down the pipeline. There was no specific mention of a timeframe for an international release for the service, but hopefully that will come at E3 next month.

It would be a crazy, crazy world if Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and the PSP God of War games were not among the first titles revealed for the service.

And then, after that, every NGP game ever released.
