Server Upgrades Scheduled through this weekend

We are happy to announce that UF Hosting will be adding some new power to our server. As we speak our new server is being configured and prepared for the migration of all sites. Yesterday we sent out a notification to all of our hosting clients to let them know there maybe some downtime in the process but our Server team has advised that it should be very minimal.

There will be IP changes with this process as we are changing Data Centers from Houston to Dallas. This will also increase our backbone thanks to a larger selection of providers coming into the Dallas DC.

If there looks like we need to have a down time period here at UF, you will find that the site will be placed into maintenance mode on the old server only. So if you come to the site and it is not in maintenance mode, then you are already on the new server.

The biggest difference in the new server will be moving from a dual core to a quad core processor and doubling the ram. This will increase the processing power for websites and increase performance especially for sites using VBulletin.

We will be offering a new hosting special at the end of this month, but the Endurance special is still in progress.
