yea, 02 Softail.  matter of fact, riding tomorrow with a bunch of military supporters to counter protest the Westboro Baptist Church and their "pastor" Fred Phelps (group who protests funerals of veterans killed in action, signs about how God hates everything) who are protesting the Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune NC.  breaking out the leathers and long johns and be a part of the unsilent majority.

Sounds awesome man and yeah but better wear the leathers and long johns. I had to ride my bike home from the shop today at 32 degrees, felt like I was frost bitten all over lol.

I do not have a bike right now :'( But that will change this summer. The coldest weather I have road in was -5 going about 85-90 mph for about 200 miles. It was the coldest I have ever been in my life and one of the ONLY times I wore a helmet. We had to pull over every 50 miles or so to try and warm up. We had layers and windbreakers but it was unimaginably cold. my ski mask kept freezing to my chin, my visor on the helmet was useless because it would ice up and freeze shut. It gets scary (not just because of the icy roads) but because you cant feel your hands to break and clutch. lol

The one thing that DID keep us warm was those heat packs- We bought all they had at this convenience store. While drinking some coffee I recalled reading in a survival book that if you can warm up your heart your limbs will also remain warm due to blood circulation. So I bought an ace bandage and threw 4 heat packs on- It worked my whole body was MUCH warmer (still fuckn cold) but felt much better.

Sorry for the long post- Just love ridding and I miss it right now. lol
