Carpel Tunnel Syndrome

Recommended Posts

Wanted to see if any of you guys ever experience that.

Years ago I worked for Schwan's Food delivery. And I had developed CTS. I have an offer to go back to work for them but that CTS problem is on my mind.

They say on webMD that what causes it is posture, vibration from like machinery. It don' t really say repetitive use of your hands. Which I thought caused it. Because I was using my hands to get the items out of the truck. Another thing I play PS3 games almost every night and I currently don't suffer from CTS.

I'm wondering if the cause of the CTS was the driving the truck. I was in the truck about 12 hours a day in and out. And the vibration from the truck might have caused it.

What I really want to know is if anyone has successfully cured or prevented it from happening to them?

I have co workers that drive a truck for long periods of time and one of them had CTS in both hands. The only way to take care of it, is through surgery. Then another 6-8 weeks of hand therapy to get back to normal. But the operations are easy.

unnaturalall finisher, I have had it so bad the doctors wanted to operate within 2 days. I lost range of motion in my wrists and would drop smaller items like pens and so forth. Cure: this will at least help. Some people sleep with there wrist in an unnatural position, causing lack of blood flow, creating numbness in your wrist that can last all day, wear a wrist brace at night to keep it straight. If that doesn't help vitamen B's like B B12 B c0mplex I took these to increase blood flow in my whole body, really helps. I'm not saying that I don't drop things from time to time, but I can at least hold on to my knife and not drop it. Thats a 10 dollar mistake everytime. Hope this helps, comes from experience......

I recovered from it now. But I know if I take that job it will reappear.

I was trying to pinpoint what caused it... We use our hands everyday and I don't suffer now. But then I don't grab boxes all day either like I was doing. Or could it have been the vibration from driving the truck? If I could figure out what caused it I could maybe watch what I do.
