Billy Crystal Signs One Day Contract With Yankees

How cool would this be?  Getting to bat for the pro team you've followed since you were a kid.  This is an absolute dream of a lifetime and he didnt do to bad either.

Looked to me like he's got a good eye for the ball too.  He got a good rip down the first base line.  To bad it went foul.

 

They said the Pirate pitcher was going to pitch to him like he would any other batter.  Can you imagine what was going through his head after throwing 2 balls and then Billy ripping a solid hit that went just foul?  If he gets on base the pitcher doesnt live that down.     A 59 year old getting a hit off of a MLB pitcher.

i think it is ridiculous. billy crystal was, is, and always will be a hack comic. i have very little respect for him, and think this is a dumb prank to keep his name on the public mind.

I did think it was pretty cool but I don't want this to open the door to celebrities playing professional sports like this. Gos knows I don't want to see Billy Baldwin step in and take a penalty shot for the Rangers in overtime.
