Man, I dont know why but it irks me when people type

www

for ex

http://www.urgetnfury.com

instead of just typnig urgentfury.com

most modern browsers resolve a ton of addresses

hell, you can type "google", and it will resolve the proper domain.

dont know why i thought of this, but I wonder how many ppl still do

Man, I thought I was a little behind here when I read everything and I was thinking....."yeah, I still type http://www."

However, you guys are talking about typing in a new address into your browser, right? Because if that's the case, then no.

But if I'm typing up an address on a post and I want to make it easier on them (and me by not having to hyperlink it) then I just type out www with the address.

That what you guys are talking about?

I stopped typing it, when I noticed that 'some' sites won't work with it. For example, if you put (www) in front of socom3.scea.com...you won't get the correct location of the site. So every since I found 'that out'...I just leave the (www) out, except to make a hyperlink in a post or something...

It has to do with how the server hosting the site is configured, not the browser. At least in IIS I think there is afeature that needs configured to make it work both ways.

This is TRUE. some sites need the www others do not. some will take both with our with out the www.

Its kind of like saying you hate the "ave, st, rd, wy, ln," in some street names.
