k i just bought a ps3 and everything works fine and i got component cables for 1080 i and it works but then i connected the optical audio cable to my recviever and theres no sound and i cant find my manuak for the reciever helppppp!!!!

How did you fix it? A guy in my clan was trying to do the same. Do you just go to audio outputs?

You have to set your Audio and Video settings on the PS-3 and tell it to push the video on the RGB components and the audio over the Digital..

 

 

My advice though is to save the price of the Digital fiber line and just buy an HDMI cable instead.. both audio and video run over the HDMI together.

ye it turned out that i set the ps3 audio to high (like better quality then my cable) so i set it at the lower level (component)

if you have comcast for your internet, they will give you hdmi cables. all you have to do is ask them.

sorry that didnt come out right. Component does support 1080 i or p. It just depends on what your tv supports through its component hookup. there ar only a handfull of tvs that can support 1080p through component.

ye i went and got a hdmi cable and when i got home i realized my tv doesnt have a hdmi hookup, i was pissed! i got my tv just before hdmi exploded on the market

Component will work for 1080i NOT 1080p.. (actually i dont know if they will work for 1080p or not i only have a 1080i TV, so i guess i wouldn't know about 1080p ;D)

 

I have 1080i, & my 360 is set up for 1080i, so i know it works for 1080i. (i believe there is an option for 1080p, but for me it is useless.)
