Quick Switching weapons Question

I use the L1 button to switch like from the rifle to the pistol.

 

How do I make sure that is locked in all the time? I have had times where I switch and the stupid grenade pops up when the round before it was doing the pistol. Or I was wanting have the Bazooka pop up.

For me, its been just like the Beta on this issue. The game picks and chooses when it wants me to have a pistol or grenades for a secondary. I haven't been able to find the pattern yet.

 

My system froze up on me twice today and both times when I would get back into a game my wireless controller settings had to be reset. I have this setting saved in my profile too. Again, just like on the Beta.
