Was this a PS2 game. I DLed the demo. I'm not so sure if I like it.

This was not a PS2 game. This is a new game created as something of an "expansion" to Battlefield 1942. It was made specifically as a downloadable multiplayer game. It's created using the Battlefield Bad Company engine.

its basically a revamped version of the most popular map in BF1942, wake island , there are three other maps iwo jima and guadalcanal, but neither one is as good as wake.

 

If you played bad company this game has a similar feel to it. If you played the original, this feels like an incomplete version, you cant drive battleships or subs or destroyers or aircraft carriers. It is missing many classic maps. But if you are a new comer, it should feel like a soild game.

 

ALSO THE MICS ARE NOT WORKING THAT WELL AND THE MAX NUMBER IN A PARTY IS 4.

The stupid planes are hard to control. I noticed no one even getting in them. I would take off and it then was hard to control. I usually ended up crashing. Never did I get shot down.

And the Tanks were nothing like BC. The controls that is. And then you have to be right on a bad guy to kill them.

I'm not even going to get into the FPS and when you aim your weapon. Did they not play COD at all?

I like it, the planes are meant to be hard to fly, if not everyone would be on them. STEER WITH RIGHT STICK, CONTROL THE YAW WITH THE LEFT STICK.

 

Tanks are easy to control in my opinion, also you have to be very accurate with the shots, not all games are like cod.

thats for the SMG only, use the garand, its better.

I downloaded the demo just to try it out first and it's definitely got the same feel to BC. I haven't tried the plane yet, but alot of guys were flying them and crashing all over, so it's probably just as hard to fly as the copter was in BC. I was having fun being the only guy sneaking into the middle of the enemy base and getting all the points. Just like in BC. ;D

 

I might actually buy this one.

I love playing Chicken when in a plane. half the time it doesn't work, but its still fun!

I bought it, but I couldn't get it to load. I found out you had to DL'd the demo that comes with the "unlock key" to get the full game. So I was told on the PS forums.

 

I was getting pissed last night. When I get home I'll have to try this. I thought it was weird considering I bought the digital version of Warhawk and didn't have to do any of this. They really should have instructions.

i love it man. i have loved the battlefield series forever. the best part about this game is there are no COD style kills, no random bs grenades, no noob kannons, nothing. sniping takes skill because you have to account for windange and shit. so you feel rather proud when you take a good shot. and flying aint that hard, just invert your flying control and everything is much easier.

I gave it a better whirl last night.

Sort of fun. It's kind of a watered down Bad Company though.

The planes I finally got the hang of flying that is. But it's hard to get ground kills I haven't figured that out yet.

Then the 3 maps only and only the one mode. The game would repeat the same map over and over. I played one 4 times in a row before I backed out. It makes me want to go buy Bad Company again though.

I'd give it an 7.5 out of 10.

 

But still not bad though for $14.99... Although I smell DLC fest coming. I smell that so much. We'll get planes, weapons, maps, and modes. There trying to get everyone in that mind set notice you had to DL the Demo.

Yea, its a dog fight map only. And Marauder your right about only being $15. I think its a great game for that price. I also realized that I'm totally a FPS fan over TPS. I didn't get that with KZ2, but this game reaffirmed it.

Yeah, as much as I don't like FPS and Respawn hell... LOL This was a lot of fun this afternoon. Nice little change. I'm talking to some clan mates about getting this. It's a lot like WarHawk IMO. Maybe we can make a separate thread of clans that have it and the head count. It might be a lot of fun to have some battles with some of you guys.

fun game all around, definitely worth the 15 bucks, im having a lot of fun with the planes atm. tho the mic problem is a bit annoying. about 8 of us SxB guys have it right now and a few more are getting it soon. so if anyone wants to set up a friendly scrimmage or just set up a private room for shits and giggles hit me up and we'll see if we can't get it going

That actually helped me I learned you have to lead the planes when firing.

 

Also anyone experience the shit heads landing on your Carriers and shooting you as you spawn? Or they'll put the sachel on your plane and hide.

No, but I've seen guys who take a plane and then not take off for the whole game. You can't kill them once in the plane as no tks are allowed. Sucks, cause you know it's some douche that has his clan on the other side. lol Some things just will never change with gaming.
