What is Missouri like in Winter?

It's a serious question that I'd like to know, mostly around the Springfield/Ft. Leonard Wood area. Can anybody speak from experience?

I'm in Oklahoma and it's like this... Mild most of the time but the weather can change in a day. What usually happens is we get blasted by the Artic and then it moves on East. Thats why we get so many Tornadoes.

 

Now if your also thinking of Fun stuff to do in Missouri. Branson has some fun things to do But and I must say But it's 95% Old people.

I live here, and I can tell you that winter here is shitty.

 

It will get anywhere from 45 deg down to -20. Snow and ice storms are common. Missouri weather is odd though....sometimes you will just get a break.

 

Take today for instance. It's 70 and sunny with a northern breeze. As I post this, Im also booking a golf outing for 1:40. ;D

 

It was 99 deg yesterday, and like we say here, if you don't like the weather, stick around. It changes every five minutes.

I didn't know you lived in Missouri?!

 

Good info from the others though, it sounds like Northern Ohio weather except for the extreme difference in temperature and ice storms...I have a feeling I'll love my time there haha

I went to Missouri in February a few years back, and I thought it was beautiful.. I almost comtemplated moving there...but never found a job I liked in the area

Better than Wisconsin. Best part is it's pretty much over by the time March rolls around.

It isn't the winter that sucks.....its summer! Anywhere from 110, with 100% humidity and mosquito's the size of fuckin humming birds.

 

But then there are day's like today.

Tool is spot on. Winter is more of Ice than snow. Some years we get slammed with a ton of ice and others we hardly get ant precipitation, but it gets cold as hell.

Ya, tool is right. I lived near Branson for 2 years, and then in springfield for another year. Winters can suck, and it changes from day to day.

 

I live in Illinois now, and the humidity here is FAR worse than Missouri. Midwest, in general...hot humid summers, and cold miserable winters.
