CpDude05 Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 Hey guys, so i have a friend and she said my email sent her like 10 emails. When she went to open it, it completely shut her system down. I looked at my outgoing mail and i have sent it to everyone. Is there anyway to fix this? Is this virus on my system? Quote
Chili327 Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 Never heard of this.. what was the subject.? Did she have to download anything or it just popped.? Quote
CpDude05 Posted September 12, 2009 Author Report Posted September 12, 2009 Once she opened the email. Her system just shut it off. I will post up the email it self. Just so you can see what I'm talking about. But it sent multiple emails to everyone on my friends list. Quote
BLACKCLOUD-- Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 I had a trojan like this years ago that I got from a friends email. It did the same to me. I used the symantec live scan and it gave me step by step instructions on how to fix it. Unfortunately I don't think they offer this scan any longer. I could be wrong about that but I do know that they will fix it for you by remotely accessing your computer for a 99$ fee. Here are some links. http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/premium_services/pc_checkup.jsp http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/premium_services/premium_virus.jsp Quote
SWATSHOT Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 that sucks cp i dont have a clue what it is but i hope you figure it out quickly Quote
CpDude05 Posted September 12, 2009 Author Report Posted September 12, 2009 Here is the email that it sends to my friends. Quote
willywonka159 Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 Maybe someone got into your email. Try changing your password. Quote
GOAT Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 It doesn't take a password to hijack the inter workings of things through maleware. You can use this utlity to trace where the E-Mail came from. Paste the full headers in the utility. That is if you even care. Most times I don’t care to know where are who sent these just how to avoid them or get rid of them. For this one if you do a search on google with the first line or other similar words of the message you’re going to see a whole lot of other people with the same problem. Its been traced to an issue not with Hotmail directly but with Microsoft’s Instant Messenger program with works with you msn hotmail account so that’s how they are getting a copy of your contact list. It could be a Trojan so run your anti virus/ anti adware programs check your IM passwords or else what could be happening is that someone that has your e-mail address in their address book has got the virus and their PC. is sending the messages and spoofing your address so tell you’re friend its not you its her! LOL In the end all you can do is try to keep your system clean and virus free.. you can’t be responsible for others that don’t have adequate protection.. For them virus’s are going to get in one way or another just because your email was spoof’d or else phished doesn’t mean you’re responsible for their lack of protection. Quote
CpDude05 Posted September 16, 2009 Author Report Posted September 16, 2009 I did a complete system scan and I'm clean!! So i changed my passwords and hoping for the best. Also nothing has been sent out sense the 10th when this happened. So i hope changing passwords fixed it. We will see. Quote
willywonka159 Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 What did I say? Don't ever listen to Goat. He knows nothing of computers. Quote
BLACKCLOUD-- Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 I just noticed your last name is spelled differently from the persons name and the hotmail address that's on the email you posted. Is it possible that it came from someone else or did you misspell your last name on your account? Quote
GOAT Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 willywonka159 ]What did I say? Don't ever listen to Goat. He knows nothing of computers. says the guy who's password is littlewilly. LOL Quote
