First of All I want to thank Tow and Sniper... Tow your farewell was that of a great leader, father (of UF) and a Mentor. Though your titles show RVN, i would much rather it say Retired UF Creator - RVN. We have a passion that can only be surpassed by you and Sniper for UF and we are forever in your debt. Hello UF Community, I am Shane the CIO of Urgent Fury. What does that mean... not much. There is not one decision maker on the team, AC, John and I will make decisions as a team. I currently own a successful IT company and have been in business for about 6 years... so that is my short history. Back to UF... My job for UF is to bring UF to the masses. I will be working with partners to recruit new clans and build up tournament sponsors and such. We have the fortune of having a very unique concept that was created by Tow and Sniper and we want to build on that. I am looking foward to giving the clans more that just bragging rights when a tourney is won. For those who do not know, I am also known as DJHaole and I will be retiring that name on the boards. I will step down from my clan rep position and will hand that over. We have been involved with UF for many years and I am looking forward to keeping UF on the current track. Stay tuned as we will announce the next TacMap Socom tournament soon with a cash prize in time for christmas.

I use DD-WRT on my router... and it will give you some control and has a very easy walk through on installing it... but be warned... one hickup and that router is toast. But firmware will not add gigabit to your router... that is a hardware component.

Well the $150 router will be all about function... though to get gigabit, the $50 to $70 linksys offers this and it is all about packet optimization... the higher price on the router the more you can control that optimization.

And waiting... and waiting...

Linksys has much imporved since being bought out by Cisco... I recommend them daily...

Too bad, I would have recommended the latest Linksys models that are actually Gigabit (So is the PS3)

If you have the free version of AVG it will let some mal ware get by as you probably did get it from visiting a web site. Malware will do the job and I recommend upgrading to the paid version of AVG.

It is my understanding that the new COD will be better geared towards clans than before.

before you do that... There is a correct order of steps to make sure it is not the router... First of all to do a test on the router to see if it is connecting to the computer correctly... Unplug your router from the modem and wait about 30 sec... this will give your computer time to realize it is no longer connected. Then plug the computer into the router only not the comcast modem... Once you have done this... take a look at your network connection status and see if it is getting an IP other than 169.whatever. If you are still getting a 169. then your router is probably bricked and will need replacing. make sure you check all 4 ports. Now if it does give you an ip address like 192.something then your router is working and follow these steps... unplug the power to your comcast modem and your router and wait for about a minute... 1st plug in the comcast modem and wait for the sync or dsl light to go solid (the light that indicates that your modem is connected to comcast) Next plug in the power to your router wait about 45 seconds... Then plug your computer in... That shoudl get the flow reset... if this does still not work then replace your router.

No goat we sell the paid versions... my company is a reseller of AVG, mainly sell to businesses and Govt.... but we have the free version available as well...

Yah we used to sell avast too, but it was so hard to work with them since the are based overseas. Avg atleast has us support.

I will say that my F150 is great... I had to drag a scissor lift down to persidio tx on a trailer from midland and got through the mountains just fine... though I think my truck would have smacked the crap out of me for doing it.

We signed up, I don't think they would just stop anything that is already going... that would not make any sense...

Ok I have posted on the socom boards about this but here is my take... I wiill admit that QA is what killed the 1.5 patch, and QA prob killed the Clan Ladder functions from releasing with the original game... The community pushed and pushed for the release and if you remeber though it was not active the beta showed the clan ladders in it... I feel that many are reading the 1.6 patch purpose wrong... 1.5 is going to come out complete but the clan ladder will not be pushed to its limits until everyone gets in there. They apparently do not have enough to mimic 9k players using the clan ladder. So once they release 1.5 and we all jump on the clan ladder and push it past the limits tested so far, they are prepared to make adjustments to that with 1.6. It will probably be minor in comparison to what had to be done to bring 1.5 online. I will agree that the content on 1.5 is not really new news but they did admit that there are open issues... that is the first time they openly posted that. I know that on the S\6 twitter page last night they had posted that the final version was submitted for approval, but when I checked it today, the post was gone. So they are very close. I know QA can be a pain as I own an IT Company and we deal with delays from QA all the time. I am actually thankful that QA is putting it through the ringer... So I am happy to sit back and wait...

My first thought is I hate to see this happen, but I know where you are coming from... I have spent the last 5 years building my business and now I am starting to groom it to be taken over as well... Being a business has tought me life lessons that are unbelievable. I wish you guys the best of luck and no matter the outcome I would like you to still remain a part of the community. I would hope that whoever receives control of Urgent Fury decides to continue building on the foundation that has already been laid... This is not your normal GameBattles community and should not be compared by any means... For those clans that have been here since the begining, I would request that like ours, will support the ownership 100% so that this community becomes an even larger community with respect and honor not only from clans but Sony and Microsoft as well.

Just to chime in... We sell these laptops and they are great... for those that are looking to replace a pc, acer has some breat 17" + models that are starting around $799 and these screens are 1080p hd... Acer really does have some great products out there.
