Hey Shane, I just use the term "ladders" generically to describe e-sporting.
I just bought our mutual friend a PSVR so he could play (on his 200Kbps connection) - the game does have an audience today, it seems to be growing and I rarely run a match without seeing the old SOCOM avatars on people's names (e.g. there's a ton of us old SOCOMers out there trying to find what we've all lost). There is this French site already doing Tournaments (though their site is also focused on VR) I don't want to register on a French website 'cause 'Merica!
Before purchasing I went through the trouble of rate-limiting my switch connected to my PS4 to 200kbps to verify it will function at that terrible connection speed and it does (surprisingly). If I were into predictions, I'd predict this game drives more people to PSVR as it is, even with all the flaws the game still has it's by far the most fun I've had in a long, long time and hands-down the best shooter on the PS4 (or any console).
