  1. Fail. lol Neo, i dont think Shadow/TNU is looked at in a bad way here, just CT and that is all teeny's fault. I have known Shadow for a long time, & knew that merger was a bad idea. That was about the same day that i became staff here. lol Ah, ah...somebody paid attention...yeah...they gave $2 to the bellhop...you win the cookie.
  2. LMAO!! thanks ... errr I think? on the math thing.. yes you can re-word it and make the math work but like the figures dilemma used the problem illustrates the big fallibility with Mathematics when trying to deal with Imaginary numbers in a real world.. three guys pay $25 for a room.. how much did each pay.. 8.33333 to infinity X 3 will never be exactly 25 dollars.. no matter how close it comes.. yet the hotel owner has exactly 25 dollars. in other words for slower members (like Prime! ) how much did each hunter pay the bellhop 2/3 is .6666~ yet if they each pay .66 cents the bellhop would only have $1.98. the story (problem) just demonstrates the inexact way that mathematics deals with imaginary numbers. Its akin to all things in the universe... thinking on it too long will drive you nuts.. sort of like trying to imagine how the entire universe was once contained within a space of molecular size. p.s. as for why I goat ahead and posted this crazy crap..? I always goat all philosophical and shit when I'm trying to handle bad news.. Remembering that the only thing I really know is I know nothing seems to help in some weird way. Umm...I am sorry, but you can write 8.33333... as (25 / 3) and keep using that in your calculation to get an accurate result. What you are pointing to is a limitation of computers and calculators, not a limitations of Mathematics. So, in that example... They each paid (25 / 3) dollars. So, they paid: (25 / 3) * 3 = $25 They each got a dollar back: $25 + $1 * 3 = $28 They gave a dollar to the bellhop: $28 + $2 = $30 $30 in the beginning. $30 in the end. ;D
  3. In your view' date=' yes. In practice, the guy who buys it owns it and can use it as expensive toilet paper if they want. That Chaos Tactics could buy it just to make sure it's shut down, for instance. There are no moral strings attached to any commercial transactions of that sort. [/quote'] keep that crapy tournament off these pages. NO ONE here would want them to buy UF. AND i mean Nobody I guess you're true about that. But, how would you prevent it? That dude could have a shill do the transaction on his behalf.

  5. In my experience, players have very little patience and time for anything outside the game. For NNN, we developed several tools (http://PapaTangoPapa.net, http://PapaTangoPapa.com, http://PapaTangoPapa.com/forums/) that really make it easy to organize our clan, but it is extremely hard to get people to pay attention. In particular, we wrote that thing called "The Availability Tracker". Players plug in their availability and roster officers can then figure out the best times to set up practices and matches. It makes projection 2 weeks ahead of time. It's very useful and it only takes 5 minutes to get set-up. But, it's still too much for a lot of people. Then we came up with this http://papatangopapa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31538. We don't use the point system because it bugs people too much. But the rest has worked quite well.
  6. Exactly, I don't belong here. Even if I bought it, I would probably wreck it for everyone and that would be a shame.
  7. Well, even though we never participated in any UF tournament, I am sorry to hear this. I would bid, but I don't believe your community would follow anyone else.
  8. Yeah, recruiting has been hard lately. Our clan does not have any SOCOM history and it seems everybody and their dog want to start a new clan rather than joining one. So, recruiting has been hard. How do you guys do it? Is there any tips you could share?
  9. It's not a game, it's a chat room. Didn't you read the news? Seriously, sorry guys, this started as the beta ended. I would guess they have until Resistance 2 is released to get their stuff in order, but beyond that, people will get their fun elsewhere. For hardcore SOCOMers, that may be good news. Indeed, when only few players are left, the game should run smoothly.
  10. OK, if you want to neat pick. But the code that actually makes gameplay is right there already. Listen, it's my job. You don't want to hear what I have to say. That's OK. I also wish for a miracle. Once the game is released, we can all come back here and see who was right.
  11. I am a software developer and I have conducted several beta programs. I don't know where the idea of a beta being "just to test certain parts" comes from. A beta is the last stage before release and the code includes all components, as intended in the final product. In most cases, 99.9% of the code in a beta is final code.
  12. You guys have faith. That's good. I hope you're right. But, current evidence points to a potential disaster.
  13. Those are tax credits. Not a check he is going to send out to you. Right now, payroll money you dedicate to heathcare and child support does not get taxed. In this new plan, it would, but the government would issue you those tax credits. In other words, if you pay little tax as it stands, these won't mean anything to you. Besides, you can bet healthcare providers will make sure they take $5001 from you as soon as such scheme is adopted. Very often, it is important to scratch below the surface.
