  1. http://pc.ign.com/articles/118/1184814p1.html If they can pull this off on the next console I'll be floored.
  2. Story by Joshua Rivera @ Kotaku.com. If you’ve been neglecting the Playstation Network’s downloadable offerings, then perhaps you’d like to drop by and take a gander at the Playstation Store’s wares in the coming weeks as the first annual PSN P event kicks off. Beginning August 9, the Play lineup will highlight four new action games hitting the Network in the coming weeks, along with a few gifts thrown in for good measure. Users who preorder any of the Play games will receive a free PS3 theme per preorder. “Hey, Kotaku!” you say, “Just how do I preorder a digital game? It’s not I’m having it shipped to my house! ” To which I would say that you were quite correct, and perhaps the word “preorder” is a bit of a misnomer (and it’s not even proper English! But that’s my own petty qualm). Maybe “preorder” in this instance should be, “deposit some money before hand and promise that you’ll buy the game”, and it’s only called “preordering” because that’s the name they gave the shiny new button on the PlayStation Store allowing you to do this. Also worth noting, is that each game comes with its own unique gift for purchasing during the promotion that you’ll only get for buying on day one, detailed below. In addtion, Playstation Plus members get these titles for 20% off. And if you buy all four, you’ll get PAYDAY: The Heist absolutely free. Just make sure you turn eighteen first. August 23: Street Fighter III Third Strike Online Edition – This highly-anticipated action-fighting title from Capcom features 20 playable characters, HD graphics, more than 200 pieces of unlockable content, more than 100 trials and more than 100 challenges. When Street Fighter III Third Strike Online Edition is purchased through PLAY, purchasers will be able to unlock GILL, the self-proclaimed god, without having to beat the game with every character, as day-one DLC. * Street Fighter III Third Strike Online Edition will be $14.99 and will be available for pre-order through August 18. The independent Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rates Street Fighter III Third Strike Online Edition “T” for “TEEN.” August 30: * The Baconing – The latest action-RPG title from Hothead Games features the popular hero, DeathSpank, in an attempt to defeat the Anti-Spank and his army of Cyborques before they cast an evil shadow over Spanktopia. Discover exciting new worlds and battle hordes of enemies as you search to unlock the secret within the Fires of Bacon. When The Baconing is purchased through PLAY, purchasers will receive an additional co-op character, Roesha – One Bad Mutha. The Baconing will be $14.99 and will be available for pre-order through August 25. *The independent Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rates The Baconing “T” for “TEEN.” September 6: * BloodRayne: Betrayalâ„¢ – This 2D side-scrolling platformer from Majesco Entertainment features 15 bloodthirsty levels where Rayne attempts to infiltrate a treacherous castle, take out a fiendish horde and stop an evil vampire massacre. When BloodRayne: Betrayal is purchased through PLAY, purchasers will receive a BloodRayne: Betrayal virtual item for their PlayStation®Home avatar and an exclusive dynamic theme. BloodRayne: Betrayal will be $14.99 and will be available for pre-order through September 1. *The independent Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rates BloodRayne: Betrayal “T” for “TEEN.” September 13: * Renegade Ops – This top-down, driving shooter from SEGA features a huge variety of vehicles, guns and endless enemies. The game features Sandbox-style missions, so there are many different ways to play. When Renegade Ops is purchased through PLAY, purchasers will receive a Vehicle & Character Pack with two new vehicles and special weapons. Renegade Ops will be $14.99 and will be available for pre-order through September 8. The independent Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rates Renegade Ops “RP” for “Rating Pending.” Bonus Gift: * PAYDAY: The Heist – This gritty, first-person shooter from Sony Online Entertainment lets players take on the role of a hardened career criminal executing intense, dynamic heists in constant pursuit of the next “big score.” A voucher code for PAYDAY: The Heist will be provided as a bonus gift to players, ages 18 and older, that purchased all four PLAY titles, for redemption when the game releases. *The game can also be pre-ordered separately starting September 20, 2011. PAYDAY: The Heist will be $19.99. The independent Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rates PAYDAY: The Heist “RP” for “Rating Pending.” All in all, is this a sweet deal from Sony—or even that appealing coming right off the heels of XBLA’s Summer of Arcade? Unlike XBLA’s summer promo, none of the four marquee titles are system exclusives, and at press time, only Street Fighter 3 is confirmed to hit the PSN first—but only a day before. Is the focus on action titles scratching an itch somewhere for you? Sound off and let us know what you think— I personally have yet to try a Deathspank game (though I’ve always wanted to), and I’ll probably pick up Street Fighter 3 (on the PSN a day before XBLA) because I’m pretty sure they can’t update it any more than this. In accordance with this line of thinking, I plan to purchase whatever version of Street Fighter IV is available when Street Fighter V comes out. Score: 0 (0 votes cast) More...
  3. Story by: CritiKiL The First video trailer was named ‘Death from Above‘, you find yourself battling to be in first place through the streets of Chicago. In this next video, you’ll get a taste of the different environments from San Francsico to New York. Even the music in this latest trailer gets my attention of the thrill of racing in trying to be #One! As ‘The Run’ streaks through the hills of Nevada, you find yourself at the heart of the pack. Battling with the unforgiving desert heat and technically demanding terrain, you must do everything you can to fight your way to the front. In the mist of all the action, superior graphics display of the environments as well as the fun of the game, nothing comes to your mind more than for you to remember to: FROM SAN FRANCISCO TO NEW YORK! COMING: NOVEMBER 15, 2011 Score: 0 (0 votes cast) More...
  4. Story by Devils Own @ GamersMint.com. Despite the game’s lackluster reception, Gearbox Software has decided to continue supporting Duke Nukem Forever and has drawn the curtains on the first piece of DLC. The Hail to the Icons Parody Pack brings to the table, four new multiplayer maps and a trio of interesting takes on some of the popular modes of today’s shooters. More details on the maps were detailed on the game’s official forum: Call of Duke – Duke engages in modern combat in a war-torn city. Foes don’t stand a chance against the Duke when he spams the map with the N00b T00b. Sandpit – Players take the role of mini-Duke in a giant sandbox with two bases at either end made out of children’s toys. This map features Sticky Bombs. Inferno – Time machine engage! Duke does combat in a hellish landscape of lava and teleporters. Who turned on the 16-bit graphics, and more importantly, where did this DFG come from? 2Forts1Bridge – Hats? Duke doesn’t need no stinking hats. Give him a minigun and he’ll beat off all comers. And about the new game modes: As the title suggest, players will find themselves joining hands to freeze and shatter their opponents for point streaks and combos in Freeze Tag. The one who holds on the girl for the longest time in Hot Potato takes home the prize. And finally, Hail to the King is your typical free-for-all. The DLC pack is scheduled to arrive sometime in Autumn. Pricing has yet to be announced. However, first access club members will receive the DLC for absolutely free. Score: 0 (0 votes cast) More...
  5. Story by Jessica Conditt @ Joystiq.com. The Walking Dead is coming alive with the first screenshot from Telltale‘s adaptation, featuring the escaped criminal Lee Everett and the young girl, Clementine, looking terrified in front of a decrepit motel. Telltale has apparently stepped up its graphics game, and just in time to make The Walking Dead as gory and twisted as its ink-and-paper form. Score: 0 (0 votes cast) More...
  6. Anyone out there have any experience with Tablets? Trying to decide whether or not to sell my laptop and pick up one of these: http://www.asus.com/Eee/Eee_Pad/Eee_Pad_Transformer_TF101/ . I currently have an ASUS G2S-A1 (Newegg.com) and I figure I can get $325 for it. Then I would only have to spend about $200 to pick one of these up. Looking for a near laptop replacement for school and some graphics capabilities.
  7. Go download that Homefront demo. What a dumb game that is. I thought the graphics was supposed to be better then they were. It got deleted after 10 minutes.
  8. So me and my Graphics Department have put together a real good animation with our logo. and when i say We really meaning my boi LOTHSUN- lol.. but yeah guys- right now its big for our forum but our new theme is coming soon and it will fit so. what you guys think
  9. So i know its not mystic DIGITAL but this is our own sigs from our own graphics department. I think there pretty cool.. and the quote is just on my sig wont be on anyone elses,
  10. I was worried when I bought it but once I got it I am loving it. Does anyone else play it. The new graphics are beast. can't wait to play some of you when the PSN comes back. Any feed back from my fellow gamers/ I have much to talk about on this game.
  11. I keep hearing how great these are for graphic design, but my job doesn't require me to use graphics, so I am dumb to the technology out there. I basically want a pad and pen to start out with, and the Intuos4 seems to be the best for the price. Anyone have any suggestions?
  12. Hey all you graphic freeks out there, anyone interested in developing some Graphics for a 2010 Urgent Fury Calander?
  13. As everyone can see the UF clans on here have some sick borders for their clan and being a new clan in UF I figured I'd ask and see if anyone could lend a hand at getting us a clan template? I'm way to new to graphics to even attempt some of the stuff you guys have put out there. If anyone can lend a hand it would be greatly appreciated.
  14. any have it ? i got it the day it came out. this game is by far the hardest rpg ive ever played. im so addicted to it im over 15 hours into it and no where near close to beating it. the grind of leveling up takes it toll sometimes on my stress level, but you can def. see the difference in your guy as he levels up and get better equipment. a def. buy not a rental, as this game will take MONTHS to beat. on a side note the graphics are AMAZING and the story is awsome.
  15. I'd like to give a special HUGE thank you to shane for his help with the stars tshirts they turned out great and another thanks to tool minion for the graphics simply amazing
  16. What do you guys think of it?? So far I hate it. Honestly its basically a slow, camping map. No run and gunners will be able to survive with the amount of hiding spots there are.. lol. The maps look great though... are fun if you like camping or your interested about great graphics, no lag and having fun.
  17. I started making my own graphics and sigs lately and was wondering whats the best brushes in your opinion? I got Grunge, Splatter, and some Abstract-ish Vector type brushes. What else is out there that you would recommend ;D?
  18. Ok so after I watched the trailer I gotta say the graphics look like crap. I hope thats not finished game play cuz the explosions look like trash and the guns look like toy guns. I really think MAG is going to be like Killzone everyone jumps on it for a few weeks and then end up going back to Socom and CoD. Im just saying what I think, im not saying its going to be trash I just think it will go the Killzone route.
  19. I was thinking a few months ago that a red faction would be great with next gen graphics. Then I went to game stop and wow lol theres a Red Faction coming out. I just looked at the trailers for it and it looks good I just hope they put better textures on the vehicles and main character cuz it looks to smooth in some parts and others have nice details.
  20. Besides the obvious, (Better Graphics/Speed/Sound) what do you guys think should be added into the new systems. - A multi-disc holder in the system. Let's say Five Disc Holder. It would increase protection for the discs, because you're not constantly removing them and putting in new ones. Also it would allow a gamer even more reasons to not get off the couch. - Ability to have more than 4 controllers connecting to a system. That's all I'm looking for.
  21. Will a better graphic card speed up downloading videos? Basically, cut back on the buffering time.
  22. Each week there will be a different topic. All the graphics folks in the UF community may participate. After the deadline SID will post another thread for the UF community here to vote on here in the sig section. The winner gets to pick the next weeks topic. Rules for every week- *Sig MUST include a UF logo or title of some kind *No larger that 275x525 but may be smaller etc. *Sig must have the name of the maker in it This weeks Topic: SOCOM
  23. Each week I was thinking we have a different topic. All the graphics folks in the UF community may participate. 24. Greedy Bastards! ;D LOL! But seriously, I'll be having some extra money soon and there's some things I want to get for my new house and the bedroom and I could really use the help in finding the best deals as I've never been too savvy in the past. I have about 1400-1600 to really work with and the most bang for the buck really counts here. I would like a: -Full Sized Bed (Just mattress and box-spring) Firm, possibly padded? And a place where I can get good bedding for cheap prices!? -A 32-35" 720p or better LCD TV -A PS3 -Any extra money left-over then a laptop would be nice. Something with 2 GB of Ram and at least an 80-100 gig hard drive. Decent graphics and sound, with microsoft office and vista
