The developers at Netherrealm Studios have been diligent in adding more characters to Mortal Kombat, releasing a free compatibility pack (to support online matches) alongside each bloody gush of new content. Creepy Elm Street loiterer Freddy Krueger calls for “Compatibility Pack #4″ when he arrives on August 9. Once downloaded, the pack grants access to “Klassic Sub-Zero” (as he appeared in Mortal Kombat 3), and “Retro Cyber Sub-Zero,” another cyborg ninja variant and a consistently effective sign that we’re talking about video games here. Story by Brian Ashcraft @ Kotaku.com. Post-apocalyptic shooter Borderlands is getting a sequel. It’s called Borderlands 2. Currently in development, the title is being created by Gearbox Software, who developed the first title (above). Like the previous title, the game is slated for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. “Combining invention and evolution, Borderlands 2 features all-new characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons and equipment, which come together in an ambitiously crafted story,” said publisher 2K Games in an official statement. “Players will reveal secrets, and escalate mysteries of the Borderlands universe as they adventure across the unexplored new areas of Pandora.” Borderlands 2 is scheduled to be released between April 2012 and spring 2013. Story by Stephany Nunneley @ VG247.com. Rockstar has announced the final DLC release for Red Dead Redemption will be the Myths and Mavericks Bonus Pack. The free pack will feature new fan-favorite multiplayer characters as well as new multiplayer locations for players of Deathmatch, Grab the Bag, Gang matches and others. A title update in the lead up to the new free DLC pack will also be released to address issues with the original Undead Overrun multiplayer mode settings. I know a few of you have beaten it. I was wondering what you thought of it. Personally I thought it was horrible. The story was awful and they didn't develop characters or emotions really at all. The gameplay itself was decent at times but it is way more run n gun now. I liked being able to take out most of the enemies stealthily in the old games. Now you are forced to just get in massive fights. I hate how your team gets in the way half the time during a fight or when you try and sneak around and do everything yourself. They just come casually walking up when there are 5 guys 20 feet away from you. I also noticed some glitches with enemies where they would just kind of stand or hide in the open and not even shoot at you. Overall I give the campaign as a whole a 4/10. It is by far the worst Socom single player to date and one of the worst endings I've ever seen.

Makes you wonder if the UF will stay locked into war type game after reading the multiplayer article in OXM. 16 players, 10 different modes, customized characters for online play........ Wow! Makes for some interesting ideas and new UF story lines.

Ok, the reference to the old man calling Chris from The Family Guy was funny as hell..... Sounded exactly like him. Not many mention it, but that old dude is one of the best characters on that show.

PHS and phsclan.com are going into the World of Warcraft. We are going to be a fledgling guild with a brotherhood philosophy. We are in the Kirin Tor realm. We recruit only new characters. Every recruit is trained by a mentor until lvl 10, when you then become the mentor of a new recruit that you have recruited.

So....what is THE show you're watching now that you think EVERYONE should be watching as well? For myself, I find myself telling people how good of a show "The Shield" is. It's on FX and I find a surprising number of people don't even KNOW about it, much less watch it. I think the characters in this drama are pretty rich and the story seems to have just the right amount of urgency in every week's episode where the hour just flies by. Dirty cops, dirtier cops and some dirty bad guys......the show is just DIRTY!
