DICE has posted over on the Battlelog blog information pertaining to the game’s new dog tag system, which allows players to choose an initial design based on an in-game stat that will be tracked dynamically in the game. Dog tags, which were first introduced in Battlefield 2142, are basically a bragging tool and this will be even more obvious in BF3, especially now that DICE has added “extra weight†to these “calling cardsâ€. “Dog tags in Battlefield 3 go beyond just having your name on them,†explained Alan Kertz, senior multiplayer designer. “We have hundreds of dog tags that can be your personal calling card. Every time you kill an enemy, they see your tags. It’s your calling card – it’s your place to brag, and dynamic tags can show off how great you are with a knife, a jet, or even show off your personal play style.†The only way to get a dog tag from from an enemy in the game is by performing one of the new knife takedowns which has you sneaking up from behind and performing a stealth kill. DICE said that thanks to the ANT animation system, these special moves “add a dynamic visual flair,†and encourage players to get in close for stealth kills. “[it] makes bringing a knife to a gun fight the risky but rewarding experience it was always meant to be,†said Kertz. Despite the game’s lackluster reception, Gearbox Software has decided to continue supporting Duke Nukem Forever and has drawn the curtains on the first piece of DLC. The Hail to the Icons Parody Pack brings to the table, four new multiplayer maps and a trio of interesting takes on some of the popular modes of today’s shooters. More details on the maps were detailed on the game’s official forum: Call of Duke – Duke engages in modern combat in a war-torn city. Foes don’t stand a chance against the Duke when he spams the map with the N00b T00b. Sandpit – Players take the role of mini-Duke in a giant sandbox with two bases at either end made out of children’s toys. This map features Sticky Bombs. Inferno – Time machine engage! Duke does combat in a hellish landscape of lava and teleporters. Who turned on the 16-bit graphics, and more importantly, where did this DFG come from? 2Forts1Bridge – Hats? Duke doesn’t need no stinking hats. Give him a minigun and he’ll beat off all comers. And about the new game modes: As the title suggest, players will find themselves joining hands to freeze and shatter their opponents for point streaks and combos in Freeze Tag. The one who holds on the girl for the longest time in Hot Potato takes home the prize. And finally, Hail to the King is your typical free-for-all. I was thinking a few months ago that a red faction would be great with next gen graphics. Then I went to game stop and wow lol theres a Red Faction coming out. I just looked at the trailers for it and it looks good I just hope they put better textures on the vehicles and main character cuz it looks to smooth in some parts and others have nice details.

Okay, so I have been hearing alot about this game. I have NEVER played any of the kill zone games before. In comparing it to socom, how is it. Good, bad...okay...better than socrap, or not quite as good. Give me some details and what is to like and not to like. Online play good, controls, killing, shot detection. You get the idea.
