  2. By anychance are we having tournaments for this game many ppl should have it with the holiday season
  3. The last week and a half or more have been really crappy for me. I live in Vegas, and its damn hot here. We left a couple of computer’s on when we left the house Monday before last. The A/C went down, then my daughter’s PC and mine over heated and burnt out some components. It took most of 4 days to get the A/C back and another 3 to get the parts to fix both my daughters PC and Mine. I’ve been busy with college classes since then, and I thought my troubles were behind me. Then the **** hit the fan. Specifically, Esports ****. It had in fact been hitting the fan during the entire time I was offline. It probably started just before I went offline, and I was blissfully unaware. My main concern is competitive gaming, Esports (even though I hate to call it that), and a lot of bad things have been happening in Esports lately. I decided to run through these things even if they’re a couple of weeks old, because it touches on some arguments I have had in the past regarding competition and competitive players intolerance for noob and casual players. It’s not a one sided argument either. The link below is the first part. It’s a video of supposedly “professional gamers,” team impact, at a supposedly “professional event,” going off on their opponents and the crowd of spectators and fans. Without those same spectators and fans they wouldn’t be where they are to talk the trash that they are. Their Sponsors were NOT pleased, and it looks like they’re going to lose one of their team members if it hasn’t happened already. The worst thing is that the event organizers didn’t step in to stop them, even when they started trash talking the crowd. These guys are basically cutting off their nose to spite their face. It’s not exactly E for everyone, so if that bothers you don’t watch. http://www.charlieintel.com/2013/08/12/team-epsilon-takes-trash-talking-to-a-new-level-at-umg-atlanta/ Update: End of story, Epsilon dropped the entire team, and two members have left the team. Here’s an article about it. http://www.charlieintel.com/2013/08/12/team-epsilon-takes-trash-talking-to-a-new-level-at-umg-atlanta/ In 2007 WSVG’s season opener in Wuhan China had 100,000 live spectators, that’s 100,000 people actually attended the tournament. By august that same year WSVG was burnt toast. In their last tournament they had technical problems, and the tournament was delayed for most of a day. They finished but they lost their sponsors and that was it. WSVG never recovered. I never found out if they managed to pay off the prize money, but people were complaining about that for months afterward. Sponsors have ditched their obligations for less, and organizers have screwed the pouch on that a time or two themselves. That first video in this post is an illustration of how the players themselves can screw these things up for a lot of others besides themselves. The quote below is from a Starcraft2 write-up on reddit, it’s 10 months old. I’ve included a link in the quote. If you’re reading this entire post, and going thru the links, you’ll find out why this write-up turns out to be nearly prophetic. They’re having some problems, and they’re not the only ones. Present day… MLG has no fall season. There is an invitational tournament for BOPS2 and Dota2 at Winter Park, Florida. That’s it. The prize purses are smaller than usual and the dates were conflicting with a UMG tournament schedule, no one was happy about that. The invitational will also have an impact on seeding for the next season. MLG has dropped SC2, (See the prophetic write-up above) and the rumor is that “riot games” has pulled LoL out of MLG. I haven’t seen confirmation of that yet, regardless, they still don’t have a fall season, and LoL is conspicuously absent from the invitational. I’m virtually certain that MLG is also experiencing issues with their sponsors over this. I’m coming from the Xbox community and I haven’t got a PlayStation yet. Anyone here that can tell me what games on PlayStation now, or planned for future release, have the potential for serious professional competition? I’d appreciate any comments, or explanation/discussion about it, and If I could trouble you for any links for supporting articles or video’s, that would be even better.
  4. How does CCP intend to contact us to synchronize the Prime League Tournament? Any help on this topic would be most helpful.
  5. A couple of years ago we were contacted by a few friends, Justin a long time Gamer and Tom a Special Forces Veteran, with a vision to bring a game that gave us back what we have been searching for since the release of PS3. These friends created SOF Studios with that goal in mind. We committed to them that Urgent Fury would support the development of such a game. We have known time and time again that is what our community is looking for and many clans have been wandering the gaming space aimlessly in hopes of finding it. Fast forward to now, H-Hour: World's Elite KickStarter Campaign is in its final stretch, David Sears has returned to pick up where he left off with Socom 1 and 2 now powered by technology and tools not available back in the PS2 days. Urgent Fury is fully committed to support H-Hour Start to finish and that leads me to a very humbling announcement. As of last week, I have taken a position at SOF Studios as Community Manager. I have been searching for that next career that captured my passion with Gaming and working with Communities. As you can imagine I am beyond excited. What this means for Urgent Fury. Well since my primary day job will be SOF Studios, I will have to dedicate more of my time at SOF Studios. John will be stepping up to handle more of the work I do on a daily basis at UF. We will also look to fill a Community Management Position at Urgent Fury with a current Staff member or move someone into it. This is going to be a process as I transition into less of an active roll. Everything that we are doing tournament wise, be it live or online will continue to build relentlessly. John will begin to handle more of the relationships with partners and sponsors as well, but I will still be at the live events as well as represent Urgent Fury as an owner. If you have not done so, be sure to head over to the KickStarter and pledge your support as well as register at SOF Studio's site. H-Hour will be powered by Community Development so your feedback matters.

    MLB 13 ps3

Hey I wanna ask everyone if we can start a MLB 13 tournament if so please post if interested thanks
  8. So we are looking at a possible event/tournament in the Chicago area and I am curious how many members are near Chicago or willing to travel to Chicago.
  9. I was told that if I had an idea, post it on this great UF site. I was thinking of a Madden 13 tournament. People pick their team, if other person or person's have the same team, change uniform to dark versus light, 10 min quarters, and just like in the NFL, have home and away and playoffs. This isn't my best suggestion post but I hope people think its a great idea.
  10. With MLG's announcement of Black Ops 2 being on the pro circuit, I personally will be watching the stream all weekend on my big screen TV in my room. If you want to see professional players and teams compete, visit twitch.tv and the stream should be located on the homepage. In Black Ops 1, I started out playing only Search and Destroy (hence why that is my favorite mode and my best mode) and started with a 0.88 K/D and a sub 1.0 W/L. It was my first Call of Duty that I had obtained in its prime playing time (Christmas lol). I was 15 at this time and knew virtually nothing. I was picked up by a clan 7DaY (which is now a runescape clan lol) after I dropped 10+ kills on them. After running with them for a couple weeks, I ran into the former WaR* clan. Among the members, wing-628, II-R3CON-ll, and paidassassin were having issues with the immature 15 years old and below members of 7DaY. I was keeping to myself and just kept playing. After 7DaY won several games, wing-628 and Dulton (the "leader" of our group who was also 15) got into an argument and it led to us having a competitive search match where 7DaY won (and I would like to point out that I was on top lol) but the shit talking was unbearable. I wanted a more mature clan and after talking to those 3 members of WaR*, I decided to be with them. We entered a tournament and I played in one match (but couldn't play in others because I was on the JV football team at the time) and I simply stayed top wood on Firing Range CTF and kill whored like I was told to do. That was my first competitive Call of Duty match. In the process of competing, wing-628 and II-R3CON-ll told me about their goals to start a professional team and I shared their admiration and vigilance. It may sound sad, the best time of my life was with 18+ year old dudes playing call of duty trying to make a lifestyle out of it. That was 2 years ago. Now I'm here. But that story actually had a point to it. During my time with Wing-628, II-R3CON-ll, and our 4th geesweb, I watched an MLG stream for the first time. It was MLG Anaheim and the finals were LvG vs FeaR with FeaR up 3-0 at the very start because they beat LvG in the winners finals. LvG came back and beat FeaR 6-5 (best of 11) and I was losing my mind all weekend from the epicness omitting from the professional world. After that one livestream, I was thinking more crucially and was becoming a better player because I was learning from those streams. So if you want to become a little better by learning some moves from the pros or you enjoy watching the competition, I invite you to come watch the stream! Sent from my iPhone 4 using Tapatalk
  11. Hello all. I would just like to tell the community that we will try our best to bring the Battle Bowl Trophy home to Urgent Fury and represent Urgent Fury the best we can. I hope to see everyone checking out that livestream once it starts, and I can't wait to get this match started. It's going to be a great game!! Also, I would like to thank all of the other teams that played some great matches, and more importantly I would like to thank the Urgent Fury staff for this wonderful tournament. We appreciate the prizes offered and all of the support from the UF Community/Staff! We thank you for this opportunity! -Batman1471 and the "Eh Batman Flow is #2FLY" Team

  17. Hey guys, We are always looking for mature gamers on ps3 for war games. OGC has been around for 9 years and has an average age of 33. We are 21+ up clan. The clan has grown over the years and is mostly made up of members who were in previous clans but disbanded for various reasons. We do have a chain of command that we utilize in competitive situations. We will be competing in the UF tourney in January. If you like being a part of a team that has become a second family for most of us, check us out at clanogc.net -fennsta_78 (psn name)
  18. Hello Urgent Fury.... I have visited here before in one of my many quests for finding new clans, communities, and groups on internet, but didn't realize UF was a tournament/league site until just recently. First off, my name is IFx DDay. I'm a 39 year old married father of four and a veteran with the 10th Mountain Division. I'm a former member of Tied the Leader, a very respected xbox community, where I served as a Challenge Captain and was also the "event guru" for the Good Game Network. I have since started my own community that revolves around events bringing gaming communities together for competition. Needless to say, I love running leagues and tournaments so this site has definitely sparked my interest. What can I say....I'm a competition junkie..... Is UF strictly and PS3 event site or is there a movement to push xbox events? Could someone also point me in the direction of who is in charge of the UF site? Thanks!
  19. So I tuned in to UFreq last night and watched the stream for Aftermath, great game on all parties btw, and noticed that you were having a hard time not getting kicked Shane. I'm curious if anyone has come up with a solution to this problem or voiced their concern to trey arch or what they think the issue is? We hosted an in-clan tournament recently and had the hardest time keeping a room open while codcasting. Almost every game and mostly several times in a match people would get kicked. The only way it would work was to turn off game recording and codcasting and the room would finally stay open. I love the idea and the fact that its featured in the game but it would be great if it actually worked. Thoughts anyone? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  20. As we have been working with several programmers over the last few months to optimize the way we control users with multiple accounts on the site we are happy to announce that we no longer need to lock rosters for events that are ladder and league based. We are still working to implement an eligibility period on the site that will indicate if a player is eligible to play. We are not quite there yet. We have been using the system exclusively now since May with no issues. As teams set up their rosters, remember players have to actually confirm their accounts before they can be on your roster. What this means for clans, as you are playing in open ladders and leagues you will be able to use your recruits if you feel confident in their ability to follow the rules. Also do not forget that your username does not have to match your PSN so leaders, be sure to edit your team roster and place PSNs in the PSN field similar to cKs has done it http://www.urgentfury.com/teams.php?2-Canadian-Killing-Squad#members-content Feel free to give us any feedback or ask any questions in this thread and thank you for choosing Urgent Fury as your tournament community.
