  2. Hi everyone. I’m Sergey, Lead Gameplay Designer on Control Resonant. We’re getting very close to our September 24 launch, and the team here in Espoo (and Stockholm) is incredibly excited to finally share what we’ve been building. With Control Resonant, we’re introducing a new combat system built around Dylan’s shapeshifting melee weapon, the Aberrant. Combat is close-range and demanding, with enemies that require you to read their attacks, manage staggers and status effects, and time your dodges. We knew that this new system would come with a new learning curve. So rather than relying on a handful of traditional difficulty levels, we wanted to give players much more control over individual parts of the experience. Customize your experience Control Resonant’s Assist Mode is a suite of customizable options designed to let you adjust the mechanics that might be getting in your way – without necessarily changing everything else. For example, if enemies are overwhelming you by attacking from multiple directions, you can reduce Enemy Aggression. If you’re having trouble reading the timing of an attack, you can widen the Perfect Dodge Window or reduce Enemy Projectile Speed. We spend a lot of time discussing the exact frame count of a standard dodge window – usually over far too much coffee – but the reality is that players have very different reaction times and ways of playing. The same approach applies to damage and combat resources. You can independently adjust Incoming Damage, Outgoing Damage, and Outgoing Falter, which controls how quickly you break an enemy’s posture. If managing Dylan’s supernatural abilities during a chaotic fight is becoming too much, you can increase Power Recovery Speed. You can also adjust Enhanced Melee Magnetizing to make positioning during melee attacks more forgiving. And if you want to focus on exploring Manhattan and experiencing the story without the stress of combat, Assist Mode includes options such as Immortality, One-Hit Kills, and the new One-Hit Falters. The idea is simple: instead of asking you to choose an overall difficulty, we let you change the specific parts of combat that aren’t working for you. Try the game first One thing we deliberately avoided was putting these settings in front of you before you even start your first playthrough. Every player is different, and you haven’t played Control Resonant yet. Asking you to make decisions about mechanics you haven’t experienced doesn’t make much sense to us. That’s why you can enable or disable Assist Mode at any point during gameplay. We want you to experience the intended combat rhythm first, get a feel for the game, and then adjust individual settings whenever you feel the need. You can also choose from a set of Assist Mode Presets created around different ways of playing and then fine-tune individual settings from there. Make it harder, too There’s another important change from the first Control: Assist Mode can now make the game harder. In the original game, the sliders could only reduce the challenge. In Control Resonant, they work in both directions. If you find the base game too forgiving, you can increase enemy aggression, make the Perfect Dodge Window smaller, and increase Incoming Damage to create a much more demanding experience. We know players enjoy different kinds of challenges, so we wanted Assist Mode to give you that flexibility, too. Play your way We talk a lot internally about designer intent. We have a carefully crafted experience in mind for Control Resonant, balanced to be tense, demanding, and rewarding. But our philosophy is straightforward: if you run into a wall and the friction becomes too much, we’d much rather you adjust the rules and keep playing than put the controller down and stop. Your time is valuable, and how you experience the game is ultimately up to you. That’s why we don’t gate any trophies or achievements behind Assist Mode. Use the settings however you need to and play Control Resonant on your terms. We can’t wait for you to get your hands on the Aberrant when Control Resonant launches on PS5 this September 24. See you in Manhattan. View the full article
  3. Hello, PlayStation players! Today we revealed that Muramasa: Revenant Blades, the stunning Japanese-inspired action-RPG from Vanillaware and Marvelous, will launch on February 4, 2027. Along with the release date, we also shared a new gameplay video that offers a closer look at the game’s exciting features, from exhilarating sword-fighting action to character progression and more. We know you’ve been looking forward to learning more about this gorgeous action game since it was announced, and we’re thrilled to be able to share more about what’s in store in Muramasa: Revenant Blades. Play Video The ultimate Muramasa The visually striking Japanese-inspired action RPG Muramasa: Rebirth, originally released for PlayStation Vita, and its side-story DLC, Genroku Legends, have been combined and further refined into a single, complete experience. Its beautiful and fantastical world has been revitalized in gorgeous high-definition. Alongside improvements to its deep and engaging sword-fighting action, new features, like the all-new English voice over, have been added to enhance the experience. Whether you’re discovering the game for the first time or returning as a fan of the original, Muramasa: Revenant Blades offers a fresh perspective on this epic adventure. Six stories unfold in a mysterious world Set in Japan during the Genroku era, a time when supernatural phenomena run rampant, Revenant Blades features six different playable protagonists, each with their own circumstances, goals, and journeys. From one who is possessed by the cursed sword Muramasa, to another who swears to avenge their master, and one who pursues love with unwavering passion, each protagonist has a unique story to tell. With each tale standing on its own, you’re free to experience all six in any order you choose. Discover six distinct tales as they unfold across a beautiful world steeped in the supernatural. Exhilarating sword-fighting action with intuitive controls and graceful movement Chain normal attacks together to naturally unleash combos, then mix in dashes and jumps for even more exhilarating combat as you move fluidly across the ground and the air. You can also parry enemy attacks, and with the right timing, even deflect ranged attacks. Muramasa’s controls are easy to grasp, yet offer plenty of depth for veteran players, giving everyone an opportunity to perform spectacular sword-fighting moves. Skills are the key to battle Unleash powerful single strikes, wide-area attacks, ranged attacks, all with a single button press. Combine them with normal attacks to overwhelm your enemies with relentless combos. Refine your swords, hone your skills, and develop your own unique fighting style With the help of the swordsmith Muramasa, Kisuke and Momohime can forge new swords imbued with powerful skills. Alternatively, Okoi, Gonbe, Arashimaru, and Rajaki, can undergo training to learn new skills and create charms that grant special effects to their different forms or weapons. Through further forging and training, you’ll unlock new swords and skills, improve your stats, and steadily grow stronger. Both require souls obtained from defeated enemies, so collect as many as you can as you make your way through the adventure. Expand your tactical options by mastering skills, freely switching between them in battle. As Kisuke and Momohime use swords imbued with skills in combat, they‘ll be able to master those techniques. You can assign up to three mastered skills for both ground and aerial combat, and switch between them freely with the directional pad. The more you use any skill, the more proficient you become, increasing its potency. Experiment with different combinations to learn the strengths they offer, and find the pairings that suit your playstyle. New features to explore and a classic experience to relive This title features a variety of supplemental content, including the Scroll, a gallery packed with illustrations, a Character Viewer, where you can admire character animations and backgrounds, and a Replay mode that lets you relive events from your journey. In addition to the renewed experience, there’s also a classic mode featuring the PlayStation Vita versions of Muramasa: The Demon Blade and Genroku Legends. 8. Hello, it has been ten years now since the release of No Man’s Sky, and we wanted to do something special to mark the moment. The Cosmos update brings a massive overhaul to space itself and is free to download for existing PlayStation players today, and it’s a massive one. Play Video Space is such a huge part of No Man’s Sky, but space itself has remained largely unchanged in all our ten years of updates! With Cosmos we wanted to make space feel truly alive. We ‘ve added asteroid belts, space hulks, outposts, missions, strange anomalies, and tons of mystery to explore. There’s so much to do in space that we’ve added a beautiful map to plot and keep track of every system. Then we started to think, could we make space feel more like home? What if you could own a Space Station? If you could build star bases, and create alliances with other players. Warping to a system now, your first action will often be a quick scan of the new solar system map to reveal a whole new array of space points of interest, each of which unlock whole new strands of missions and exploration. There are huge “space hulks”, which can be stripped and salvaged. The physics gravity gun can be used to pull chunks of metal from these wrecks, and can be thrown to a new tractor beam fitted to your ship. Become too greedy, and tear too much from a hulk, and it may begin to meltdown and explode. Scanning first for the highest value rewards is the smart move. Perhaps you take your new rewards to one of the new space outposts, to trade with alien lifeforms. Here you can buy maps, get information about the area and take on new missions from its inhabitants. Beware though, some of these facilities have been overwhelmed by biological hazards, and may need to be cleared out and reclaimed carefully. Gorgeous asteroid belts of rock and ice formations boast a large array of valuable crystal resources. Some rare asteroids are large enough to land on and even build a star base on. Why limit yourself to a base on an asteroid? Free-floating modular bases can be built anywhere in space. Build your own truck stop for star ships, orbital restaurant, or military outpost. There’s something incredibly special about floating in space, planets looming large below you, watching the universe go by. If that isn’t enough, at last players can buy the system’s space station for themselves! They can build and decorate it both inside and externally, and some wild creativity is possible. You can create your own themed Station, as your own clubhouse and have friends come and visit. Perhaps that Station then becomes the place where you found your own Alliance to which you can invite all players to join your new society. As an alliance, you can work together to build a networked empire of different stations and rise the new leaderboards to compete for the largest, richest or most prominent alliance. The center of the solar system is the sun, and finally players can try to undertake a perilous journey to reach the center of their own star system! Expeditions have become a very popular feature of No Man’s Sky. For our 10th year, we have done something a bit special. Each milestone of the anniversary expedition will correspond to a specific No Man’s Sky update from the 40+ we have released over the last decade. Each milestone’s gameplay reflects some of the features that were introduced with that update, peppered with some interesting logs about how that update came into being. It’s like a journey through time, and honestly we’ve found it a little emotional to put together. Cosmos is a massive update, but it’s also just another step in our journey together. Right from the beginning, our game, our updates and our patch notes are a love letter from us to the community. Thank you so much for joining us. Our journey continues. View the full article
  9. When we launched Dead or Alive 6 Last Round back in June, we promised that the game’s launch was just the beginning. Tomorrow, the next evolution of the title begins as we introduce the highly anticipated new character, Minato, into the mix. We can’t wait to see what everyone thinks of the new character once they get the chance to play as her, but first, let me give a quick introduction on who Minato is and what she’s all about. Who is Minato? Minato is a seemingly ordinary female student attending school in Tokyo. She’s a cheerful and outgoing girl who could be found anywhere, yet there’s an air of otherworldliness about her. While it’s known that she lives on her own away from her parents, much of her private life remains a mystery, and although she’s well-liked by her friends, they also view her as a mysterious person. That said, Minato occasionally displays astonishing physical abilities. She began dancing as a casual hobby, with the simple goal of making both dancers and spectators feel cheerful and positive. She then went on to make her debut at a world-class dance competition and won first place on her very first try, earning her the nickname Tokyo JK. Around that time, Minato began disappearing somewhere in a hurry after school and on weekends. She claims it’s part-time work, but the true nature of her activities remains unclear. Occasionally, she is seen chatting amiably on her smartphone with someone named NiCO. Meanwhile, M.I.S.T.’s cyberneticist NiCO has just hired a part-time worker (who goes by a strange codename) for a certain experiment. The experiment seems to be progressing smoothly for the most part, but she cannot understand why this part-timer calls NiCO her best friend, worries about her, and acts so close toward her. To this day, Minato’s true identity and real purpose remain shrouded in mystery. Minato’s fighting style Behind Minato’s gentle appearance lies extraordinary physical ability. Having already won a world-class dance competition, she applies her sense of rhythm, athleticism, and empathy to combat as well. Minato uses a contact lens-type device currently under development by NiCO that converts the movements of other fighters into signals her body can physically replicate, allowing her to freely master the techniques used by DOA tournament participants. As a dance enthusiast, she favors flashy, visually striking moves and fights with the same joy as if she were dancing. With a wide range of attacks, including vertical and horizontal spins, she is a character that’s easy for beginners to use. One of her signature moves is the Minato Shuffle. This is a unique dance step that can be performed directly from specific attacks. From this dance, she can unleash multiple powerful follow-up attacks. Follow-up attacks from the Minato Shuffle are technical and require the player’s creativity, making her a character that offers a satisfying challenge even for advanced players. Minato’s backstory To make her approachable even for those new to the Dead or Alive series, we focused on creating a positive and relatable character image without being overly fixated on typical fighting game tropes or Dead or Alive specific elements. Dead or Alive features an expansive narrative filled with various factions and the distinctive characters that belong to them. To ensure that Minato can move freely and vibrantly, we’ve positioned her as a mysterious figure who belongs to no specific faction — revealing only that she is NiCO’s friend. We chose a Japanese student as the visual concept because we believed it could embody an image that is free, approachable, and positive — one without pretense or political maneuvering—and that conveys a sense of the future and growth. Above all, we determined it was the most suitable motif for expressing both cute and beautiful — elements that Team Ninja excels at — in perfect harmony. We hope you’ll enjoy this game through Minato, the newest addition to the DOA world…but not the last! View the full article

  14. Just revealed in State of Play, Jin Sakai will be one of our playable characters in Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted! We are so excited to have the hero of Ghost of Tsushima back for this new mode, complete with all four of his signature stances. Play Video In case you missed our announcement last month, Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted is a brand new single-player combat survival mode that’s included in Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition. Most Wanted is our spin on a roguelike. You’ll choose from four playable characters and accept bounties with escalating difficulty. As you complete runs, you’ll earn perks and upgrades to build out your character, becoming more powerful as you go. It was important to us to make Most Wanted feel like an extension of Ghost of Yōtei’s core combat systems. We want playing through runs to take the familiar weapons and systems you’re used to and turn them into a fresh experience that lets you experiment with characters and builds to find the loadout that works best for you. View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image So how does it work? To start a run, you’ll select a bounty from the bounty board. Each one features a different member of the Yōtei Six, but to get to them you’ll have to take on waves of enemies and minibosses. As you finish each wave, you’ll unlock perks that help you create a powerful build to eventually take on the final boss of the bounty you’ve selected. Bounties can be replayed at increasing difficulty levels, all culminating in the hardest bounty against Lord Saito himself. You’ll also earn Mon as you play, which you can spend outside of runs to unlock new techniques, weapon upgrades, charms, and character unlocks. Plus, any cosmetics you earn through playing Most Wanted will also be unlocked in the main game, so you can wear them during Atsu’s original quest for vengeance, or as you take on the new story expansion in Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara. Once you’ve unlocked all four characters, you can select between them. Each character will start with a katana, as well as their own additional unique weapons, abilities, Ultimates, and Kill Streaks. We encourage you to try them all as each one brings their own different approach to taking down the enemies standing in your way. Your default starting character will be Atsu, who uses dual katana as well as two Ghost Tools: Metsubushi (Blinding Powder) and a Blind Bomb. Atsu’s Ultimate is “Call of the Pack,” which allows her to summon two wolves to take down nearby enemies, and her Kill Streak is Onryō’s Howl, which will terrify all nearby enemies and force one to flee. You’ll also be able to play as Oyuki, who fights with the kusarigama, kunai, and the tanegashima (rifle). Oyuki’s Ultimate is “Shadow Killer,” which unleashes smoke to allow her to quickly assassinate two nearby enemies. Her Kill Streak is Shadow Shinobi, which summons a Nine Tails ally to fight alongside her (and execute their own assassinations) for a limited time. The next playable character is Nagato, who uses the yari (spear), tanzutsu (pistol), yumi (long bow), and hankyu (short bow). His Ultimate is “Gambler’s Mark,” which targets two enemies and fires a guaranteed headshot, and his Kill Streak is Blast Arrow, which refills his Concentration and grants an explosive arrow. Finally, Jin Sakai is our fourth playable character. For Jin, our animation and character art teams worked hard to take his Ghost of Tsushima model and keep it faithful while also applying upgrades for Ghost of Yōtei. Jin can use his katana with all four of the original stances from Ghost of Tsushima, helping to exploit enemy weaknesses. He also starts with a Sticky Bomb and hankyu. Jin’s Ultimate is the “Dance of Wrath” skill from Ghost of Tsushima, which targets multiple enemies and disarms them, and his Kill Streak is, of course, Ghost Stance, which allows him to terrify the enemies around him and kill a limited amount of them in a single hit. Beyond selecting the character you want to play as, the real way to create your unique build in Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted is by selecting perks. As you progress through a run, you’ll frequently select between new perks including weapon mastery, gear loadouts, summons, parries, survivability, and more. These are the cornerstone of crafting the perfect build and lead to some of the most exciting surprises as you find the challenge or unexpected value that comes from mixing and matching perks. Play Video In addition to our Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted trailer and Jin Sakai reveal, we also released a new look at Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara in State of Play Japan today. Echoes of Sekigahara is split between two periods of Atsu’s life: her time on the mainland in the massive Battle of Sekigahara, and the present day. In Sekigahara, you’ll learn about Atsu’s history with Nagato, a key figure from her past who fought alongside her. In the present, Nagato has arrived in Ezo and is wanted by the Vipers, outlaws loyal to the Snake left leaderless after his death. The Vipers are a group of vicious poachers who have taken over Ashoro Foothills, a previously unseen area of Ezo that was once teeming with wildlife and has now been left devastated. Atsu must reluctantly team up with Nagato to find a close ally who’s been taken from her by the Vipers. In Ashoro Foothills, she’ll find new enemy types, new heavy weapons to wield, new mythic tales and abilities, new armor sets and cosmetics, and much more. 15. Hi everyone! I’m Stu Tilley from Firesprite, and I’m thrilled to say it: Until Dawn 2 launches on PS5 on January 28, 2027. Get ready, because every choice you make is going to matter. Will you guide all the team of fake ghost hunting Youtubers “Dead True” (plus their plucky chicken companion!) safely off Akishima Island? Or will the horrors claim a few… or even all… as you face the chilling horrors of this beautiful yet deadly paradise? Story crafted with AdHoc Studio, creators of Dispatch We’ve partnered with our friends at AdHoc Studio – the brilliant minds behind the acclaimed Dispatch – so you can expect a deeply layered story packed with rich characters, razor-sharp dialogue, fraught relationships, tough decisions, and yes… more than a few gruesome deaths. Every choice, every interaction can ripple with dramatic consequences. Play Video Watch the pre-order trailer Check out our new trailer: you’ll see the Dead True crew investigating Blackwood Sanitorium, shooting an episode about the tragic events that unfolded 12 years ago. Izzy (Sarah Catherine Hook), the team’s new intern, uncovers something she never expected, before upending their plans in chilling fashion. Later, at HorrorCon in Sydney, they meet Yoona (Gia Kim), a survivor of a terrifying supernatural attack—she pulls down her collar to reveal a dark, necrotic scar. Her warning sets the cast on a journey to a remote South Pacific island, abandoned since a luxury resort’s mysterious shutdown in the ’70s. But this island hides secrets, centuries old and hungry for vengeance. And Dead True are walking right into it. It’s your choices that will shape each outcome. In the trailer, Owen (Dacre Montgomery) – Dead True’s cocky star – faces a crossroads: should he follow the signal to help his missing friend Nate (Spence Moore II), or take a detour across a rickety bridge to investigate a strangely lively bar? Could leaving Nate’s path lead to important clues that might help? Or does leaving Nate make him vulnerable to whatever it is that lurks in the shadows? 19. We’re thrilled to have revealed Rhapsody in Scarlet, a brand-new action game for PlayStation 5, during today’s State of Play and State of Play Japan. Set in the jazz-filled streets of 1920s New York, Rhapsody in Scarlet is an action game where players can enjoy exhilarating combos by wielding magic and beasts. Behind the city’s dazzling skyscrapers and lively streets, an unseen conflict rages among those who practice magic in secret. Players take on the role of Ellie, a young magus who finds herself swept up in events that will shape her destiny. First, please take a look at the first trailer revealed during State of Play. Play Video Thrilling combo-driven Acation with magic and beasts Many action games nowadays focus on weapon-based close-quarters combat, but with Rhapsody in Scarlet, we wanted to create something different, allowing players to build highly customizable combos and harness the unique possibilities of magic. One of the defining features of Rhapsody in Scarlet is its dynamic action, which sees Ellie wield magic while commanding beast companions in battle. The stylish combat blends close- and long-range attacks, area-of-effect spells, and beast techniques into highly customizable combos. Finding combos that fit your playstyle and adapting them to different enemies and situations is one of the game’s core appeals. A story trailer that brings the story and characters into focus In addition to its exhilarating action, Rhapsody in Scarlet also places a strong emphasis on its story, woven together by a cast of distinctive characters. For more, please take a look at the story trailer revealed during State of Play Japan: A Young Magus commanding beasts is drawn into the fate of the world The story is set in 1920s New York. Ellie, a young magus who has come to the city that never sleeps to pursue a career as a jazz singer, becomes entangled in the schemes of a mysterious mafia organization following a certain incident. There, she meets Ilya, leader of the Seekers, a magus organization. Though the two have completely opposite values and clash repeatedly, they gradually deepen their bond as they continue fighting together. Before long, they find themselves confronting a fate that threatens to shake the balance of the world. Ellie Myers Voiced by Cherami Leigh (English) / Akari Kito (Japanese) Our story’s protagonist, Ellie is a young magus who came to New York to pursue a career as a jazz singer. Fighting alongside her beast companion, Sköll, she channels the powers of beasts and magic to unleash combined attacks. Valuing freedom above all else, Ellie refuses to be bound by rules or authority. With her unconventional thinking and unwavering determination, she confronts a world-shaking conspiracy and the destiny that awaits her. Ilya Jones Voiced by Hannah Grace (English) / Saori Onishi (Japanese) The young leader of the Seekers, a magus organization, Ilya was raised under the tutelage of Harold, her father and the head of the Sorcellerie Quarter. An exceptionally talented magus, she possesses both remarkable skill and a strong sense of responsibility. Valuing order above all else, she frequently clashes with the free-spirited Ellie. However, through many battles they fight side by side, the two gradually come to understand one another. Jazz-filled 1920s New York In Rhapsody in Scarlet, we have worked to recreate the atmosphere of 1920s New York as much as possible, from its architecture and fashion to its cars and Prohibition-era speakeasies. The 1920s were a time of remarkable energy and change, marked by the rapid spread of automobiles and radios, as well as the growing presence of women in society. To faithfully recreate the vibrant atmosphere of New York during this era, we carried out on-site research and gathered a wide range of historical references. At the same time, we introduced fantasy elements such as Beasts, magic, and the magical district they inhabit, creating a distinctive world where historical reality and fantasy come together as one. By incorporating jazz inspired by the sounds of the 1920s, we have also created a unique experience, where swing-filled sound and action come together as one. Wishlist starting today Exhilarating action powered by magic and beasts, a distinctive world set in 1920s New York, and a story centered on Ellie and Ilya await in Rhapsody in Scarlet. We will have more to share in the future, so please be sure to add the game to your wishlist and stay tuned for upcoming updates. The game will also be featured in Konami Press Start, a streaming program that will air on Konami’s official YouTube channel on September 3 at 8am PT / 4pm BST / 5pm CEST, September 4 at 12am JST , so be sure to check it out as well. 20. During today’s State of Play, we announced that Fate/Extra Record, developed by Type-Moon, will be releasing worldwide on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on January 28, 2027! We know everyone’s been patiently waiting to learn more about this return to the Fate universe, so we’ve shared a thrilling new trailer jam-packed with the latest footage detailing this fresh telling of the “Moon Holy Grail War.” Play Video The Fate series began with Type-Moon’s PC game Fate/stay night, released in 2004. Since then, the franchise has expanded beyond games across a wide range of media, including manga adaptations, novelizations, and anime. At the heart of the series is a modern battle fantasy, where legendary heroes from the past, known as Servants, are summoned by Masters to fight for the Holy Grail, an all-powerful artifact said to grant any wish. Together, Masters and Servants enter a deadly conflict where they must battle until only one remains. As of August 2026, the Fate series spans more than 100 titles across games, anime, novels, manga, apps, and other media. Originally released in Japan in July 2010, Fate/Extra was the series’ first RPG. Fate/Extra Record revisits this pivotal entry in the Fate franchise, completely rebuilding it for modern platforms. Not only has the story been expanded, character graphics have been renewed, and the presentation has been updated for the modern era, but a new strategic deck-building Command Card battle system has been introduced to elevate the gameplay, too. We believe this makes Fate/Extra Record accessible and easy to play for newcomers, while offering a fresh experience for fans of the original game. The Holy Grail War After humanity discovered a supercomputer hidden on the moon, everything changed. Known as the Moon Cell Automaton, this powerful computer created the Holy Grail, an omnipotent machine capable of granting any wish. Thus began the Holy Grail War, a tournament taking place in SE.RA.PH, a digital world constructed by the Moon Cell Automaton. It’s there that 128 combatants, or Masters, are pitted against each other in hopes of being the ultimate victor. At each of their sides stands a Servant, a hero drawn from human history, who will help them fight to claim the Holy Grail and fulfill their wish. At the center of it all is you, a Master with no memory of how you found yourself in the middle of this conflict. Your only chance of survival is to contract a Servant and join this brutal war. Navigating the War Gather Information on your enemy: The key to victory is finding out the identity of the enemy Servant. The Servant’s True Name is a crucial piece of information as it will be tied to their combat style and weakness. Gather information and uncover their true identity! Explore the Arena: To qualify for the Decisive Battle, you must explore sections of the Arena. By overcoming traps and enemies on each floor, your Servant will grow stronger. The Final Battle: A one-on-one battle between two Servants commanded by their Masters. The losing Master will forfeit not only the tournament, but their life. The Holy Grail War continues until there is only one participant remaining. Battle System Fate/Extra Record’s battle system has been completely overhauled from the original game. Now, combat plays out through the use of customizable decks in Command Card Battles. It’s up to you to build your deck with a variety of different Commands, bringing an added layer of strategy to each encounter. Choosing the Best Actions from Your Hand: There are three kinds of Commands: Attack types that inflict damage on the enemy, Guard types that add to your shield to decrease damage taken, and Skill types that have their own unique abilities. Commands will differ depending on your Servant and thus require different tactics for each combat style. Your Deck is the Key to Battle: New Commands can be obtained through treasure boxes in the Arena and defeating powerful foes. Each Servant’s Combat Style: Players can choose one of three Servants to fight alongside them in the Moon Holy Grail War. Each Servant possesses unique abilities and strengths, so learning how to make the most of their individual talents can give you an edge in battle. Discover what sets each Servant apart and experience their distinct fighting styles for yourself! Along with standard digital editions on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, we’ll also have a Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes the Fate/Extra Record digital edition, numerous cosmetic costumes, an in-game arranged music pack from the original Fate/Extra, and the digital versions of the art book and soundtrack that are included in the physical Limited Edition. We can’t wait for you all to enjoy Fate/Extra Record, reborn! View the full article

Or will the horrors claim a few… or even all… as you face the chilling horrors of this beautiful yet deadly paradise? But this island hides secrets, centuries old and hungry for vengeance. And Dead True are walking right into it. It’s your choices that will shape each outcome. In the trailer, Owen (Dacre Montgomery) – Dead True’s cocky star – faces a crossroads: should he follow the signal to help his missing friend Nate (Spence Moore II), or take a detour across a rickety bridge to investigate a strangely lively bar? 25. Hi everyone, it’s great to be back on the PlayStation.Blog. It’s been a few years since we shared Maquette with you, and while that game was about the shifting scale of perspective and memories, we’ve spent our time since then thinking about a different kind of shift: the shift of unparallel realities. Today, we’re excited to give you a first glimpse of what we’ve been building. This is Uncanyon. Play Video A bew take on classic adventures Uncanyon is a puzzle-first adventure set in a forgotten world that emerged and once flourished in the folds of converging unparallel universes. You play as Sonia, a stranger to this land. As she explores, she’ll start piecing together not just how to survive Uncanyon, but why it needs her (whether she’s ready for that role or not). While Sonia is trying to save the world in classic adventure tradition, her story is also a personal one. Although she arrived in Uncanyon looking for excitement, as Sonia becomes aware of her fate and her role, the weight of being a hero expected to save the world starts to weigh heavily on her. For that, our team looked to our own lives, drawing from the pressure of family expectations and the invisible obligations social media places on so many of us. She’s someone handling these pressures in real time, the same way we all are, and that shared uncertainty is something we leaned into throughout the writing and world design. Unveil puzzle-filled ruins In Maquette’s recursive world, we found a soft spot for spaces that reward close observation. Uncanyon’s temples and ruins carry that forward, but with sharper teeth. These places were built to keep people out – filled with traps, locks, and puzzles designed by whoever came before to guard what’s inside. You’ll work through them using tools and discoveries you pick up along the way, building up a small but versatile kit of solutions as you go. We wanted to take classic “dungeon puzzles” and elevate them from softball distractions to intricate, mechanical traps and vaults with lots of “aha” moments to be found. Part of the fun for us has been designing spaces where the solution only clicks once you’ve truly uncovered new aspects of the puzzle systems. Reality Fragments This is the part of Uncanyon we’re most excited to talk about. Scattered throughout the world are devices powered by fragmentstone, a mysterious substance that allows you to shift and bend alternate realities in and out of Uncanyon. Activate one of these devices, and the space you’re standing in transforms: obstacles move, hazards disappear, paths that didn’t exist a moment ago suddenly do. Whole rooms seamlessly morph from one reality to another around you. In other fiction, alternate universes are separate, and the characters move between them. But here, the realities converge in Uncanyon – and you’re in control. This means you can blend realities in and out as you wish. You can freeze blending at any time to explore the mixture of realities you’ve just created, and there are even points where you can be in multiple realities at the same time! A blocked doorway in one reality might be wide open in another, at the cost of a hazard you now must account for elsewhere. Learning to explore an area across its different states and figuring out which reality to be in and when, is the core puzzle language players will learn over the course of the game. What’s next We’ve got more to share about Sonia’s story, the regions you’ll explore, and how Reality Fragments evolve the world as you progress — but we wanted this first peek at the game to give you the core ideas at the heart of the game: a puzzle-first adventure set in a fantastic land of unparallel realities. Thank you for following us from Maquette to here. We can’t wait to see what you find in Uncanyon, which will be launching on PS5 in 2027. View the full article
  26. We are thrilled to finally announce Hunter’s Moon – a first-person historical narrative folk-horror game coming exclusively to PlayStation 5 on October 26* – the night of the full Hunter’s Moon. Play Video Hunter’s Moon is set over the course of one fateful night. Meet mummers dressed in folk costumes, evade capture by the witch hunters, and eavesdrop on a characterful cast of regular folk worn down by war and misfortune. Discover the secrets of this dysfunctional village on the brink as you embody an accused “witch” on the run for her life. You play as Lilith Thorne, an accused woman who must flee through a 17th–century rural village and its surrounding forests and moors in search of safety. As she is stalked and hunted by the Witchfinder General, the village magistrate, and a local huntsman, you must use stealth and cunning to evade capture. And by eavesdropping at windows, you may gain knowledge and aid that can help her survive the night – warning words, sage counsel, sacred items, or perchance a folk song. The game features a novel immersive-theatre-inspired eavesdropping mechanic that invites the player to explore and discover this early modern village and its stories – grounded in historical realism, elevated by handcrafted stylised art, and told through the voices of over 100 fully voice-acted characters. In 1644, Matthew Hopkins began his crusade of witch hunting in England, styling himself “the Witchfinder General.” In 1647, he published a book, The Discovery of Witches, which comprised a series of questions and answers in which he justified his controversial methods for identifying witches. Arguably the most notorious witch hunter in history, Matthew Hopkins and his colleague John Stearne sent more to the gallows for witchcraft than all other English witch hunters before them. In 2019, I began writing a screenplay inspired by this history while working as a producer at Crows Crows Crows. Transforming this vision to the screen led me to found the new independent studio Twin Swans, bringing together talented artists and developers whose credits also include The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Signalis. Our shared love of history and craft guided us in the creation of Hunter’s Moon – a reimagining of a witch hunt in 17th-century Early Modern England offering an experience of the stories and horrors that might unfold under such wicked circumstances. While Hunter’s Moon is set at the height of witch-hunting fever in 17th-century England, the concept of the “witch” is universal. Nearly all cultures have independently identified this figure of the witch: a magical person, usually a woman, existing on the fringes of society. Societies throughout history have accused, persecuted, and even executed innocent people based on these magical beliefs. Although many consider it a thing of the past, the practice still continues in some parts of the world. Despite our modern understanding of the historical and social factors behind witch-hunting, contemporary screen-based media continues to rely on this same magical thinking when telling the stories of women accused of witchcraft. Whether they’re depicted as “real” witches or as innocent women, an element of the supernatural typically pervades their stories: tales of witches flying around on brooms and drinking the blood of babies, or of terrifying ghosts haunting the communities that tormented and killed them. Likewise, many horror games evoke the supernatural – and our willingness to believe in it – to terrify players. Inspired by this true history of English witch hunts and the tradition of folk–horror, Hunter’s Moon asks you to consider: what if the most terrifying thing in our world is not monsters or magic, but other people? What if our own fears and beliefs are the true sources of horror? Hunter’s Moon invites you to decide this for yourself on the night of the full Hunter’s Moon on October 26. You are invited to wishlist the game today on PlayStation Store. *Hunter’s Moon launches October 25 in North America. In other regions, including UK, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, the game launches October 26. View the full article
  27. Today’s State of Play featured a new look at Final Fantasy Resonance, launching October 22, 2026. We’re also excited to announce the release of a free demo for PlayStation 5, featuring the entire first chapter of the game. Save data from the demo can be carried over to the full game. Play Video Final Fantasy Resonance is built on the concept, “What if Final Fantasy had continued to push the limits of pixel art?” The game sends you off on a journey to protect the Crystals scattered across the world and to stop the pursuit of Veritas of the Dark who seeks to destroy the world. This tale of crystals is brought to life in high-definition pixel art in the HD-2D style, alongside familiar Final Fantasy elements such as chocobos and airships, an evolved turn-based battle system, and a more accessible take on the classic job system. Cinematic Pixel Art The opening movie and other cinematics feature a cutting-edge pixel-based style using a production method that renders 3DCG in pixel form to achieve dynamic visuals while retaining the timeless charm of pixel art. Gameplay System – Combat Final Fantasy’s classic turn-based command battles have evolved to deliver greater accessibility and deeper strategy. Timeline: Engage in combat by making full use of the timeline, which displays the upcoming action order of both allies and enemies through the next turn. The timeline at the top of the screen displays the action order, with characters taking their turns from left to right. Stagger Gauge: Depleting the stagger gauge displayed beneath an enemy’s HP bar will stagger them, preventing them from acting on their turn and lowering their defense. Knowing when to stagger enemies by watching the timeline is key to devising effective battle strategies. Gameplay System – Visions Visions: Complete events involving characters you meet throughout the story for a chance to obtain visions, items which are crystallized essences of those characters. Equip visions and win battles to unlock new abilities. Synergies from Equipped Abilities: Once an ability is learned from a vision, it can still be equipped even when a different vision is active, as long as it remains within the cost limit, allowing abilities from multiple visions to be set at the same time. This system is a more accessible and evolved take on the familiar job system from the FINAL FANTASY series, with certain ability setups producing powerful synergies. Legacy Final Fantasy Heroes: Visit vision crystal sanctums scattered across the world to obtain visions of legacy Final Fantasy heroes. Equip them as you would any other vision to harness their powers. The latest trailer released during today’s State of Play revealed that Sephiroth will be making an appearance. Players will be able to find and challenge Sephiroth in hopes of winning and unlocking a special reward. Resonances: When a Sweeping Stagger occurs, you can unleash a Vision-specific special move called “Resonance” at the end of the Extra Phase. Resonances come in many forms—not only delivering high damage but also offering a variety of abilities such as powerful AoE attacks and additional effects. Gameplay System – Espers Progress through the story and complete side quests to unlock powerful summons known as espers. When summoned, espers fight alongside your party for three turns, delivering a powerful finishing move on the final turn before disappearing. Today at State of Play, we shared the first look at an all-new collaboration with the LEGO Group – the LEGO PlayStation – that celebrates the games, experiences, and the feelings of play we have shared as a community for over 30 years. Play Video For the first time, players and LEGO fans will be able to create a LEGO replica of the original PlayStation console and PlayStation controller. Brick by brick, this 1,911-piece set represents a near 1:1 scale of the console, measuring 10.5 inches / 26 cm wide when fully assembled. To bring this set to life, we collaborated closely with LEGO designers to craft a building experience that is inspired by PlayStation’s origins. When building the set, players will notice hidden details from PlayStation’s history and references to two iconic games that launched on the original PlayStation console, Ape Escape and Gran Turismo. Each diorama features customizable elements – Gran Turismo includes a miniature track complete with scaled down cars, while the Ape Escape diorama has a nostalgic island scene with a swappable blue or red light on the monkey’s helmet. The interactive set has functional mechanisms for the console’s Power and Open buttons, a controller that can plug into the console, and the ability to remove both game dioramas so they can be displayed separately. The LEGO PlayStation will be available directly from PlayStation on direct.playstation.com starting October 1, 2026, in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. The set will also be available from October 1, 2026, for LEGO Insiders Early Access and for all via LEGO.com and LEGO Stores from October 4, 2026. The recommended retail price (RRP) is $179.99 USD | €159.99 EURO | £139.99 GBP | ¥27,980 JPY (including tax). Whether you have been with PlayStation since 1994 or are a newer fan, we hope you enjoy building a piece of PlayStation history with this upcoming LEGO set. 29. After working on Ontos for over a decade, it is incredibly exciting to take a deep dive into the gameplay. Ontos is a spiritual successor to Soma, posing deep philosophical questions to players. Because of this, it is also always hard to figure out how to make it understandable in a short video. The focus of the game is not a tight, moment-to-moment gameplay loop, but a slower-paced experience of researching, testing, and eventually making a few critical choices. Now that we have a chance to showcase 10 minutes, it feels much easier to convey the intended feel of the game. Play Video The main idea of the game is that you encounter complex experiments, each with its own setup, questions, and philosophical dilemmas. In this video, we get to see Crombie, who has been trapped in a computer server made of rats. Or at least that is what he says… As you can see in the video, the game starts by exploring nearby locations. These are often filled with information that helps you better understand the people and issues involved. In this case, there is even a small experiment, a strapped-in rat, that gives a taste of the difficulties to come. Here, players can test theories and make mistakes before encountering the main experiment. Another early character is Zike – who we hear briefly over an intercom. Zike is a man seemingly obsessed with finding the soul. Understanding stuff like this is not just fun lore, but a critical part of the game. The better you understand how a character works, the more informed decisions you can make. Sometimes it is best to avoid certain questions or give answers contrary to your own feelings to achieve the intended results. Verify your age to view this content. Verify your age to view this content. Once we enter the lab, we finally get the Rat Server revealed. I love this setup. Our thinking behind it was just to let a person be made from something that feels highly unlikely. Someone being simulated by a computer is not so hard to accept in this day and age. But by 60 rats strapped to a server rack? That is a harder pill to swallow. The hope is that these setups act as catalysts to other thoughts and questions. Are the rats conscious too? Can two conscious beings inhabit the same physical substrate? This is a good taste of what we want to provide in Ontos. Verify your age to view this content. Verify your age to view this content. After you have met the Crombie (or the rat server, however you wanna feel about the situation), it is time for an experiment. You need to manipulate the probes on the Crombie’s head delicately. Now the player faces many options. You can follow the instructions or try other things based on things you’ve seen and read. The goal with all of this is to create a tense scene by mixing goals, unclear instructions, and always the risk of royally screwing it all up. The experiments can end in many ways, and it is never clear what your options even are. This also makes the game very replayable. The more you play, the more you understand, and the clearer the approaches will be. Ontos comes to PS5 in 2027, and you can wishlist it now.
