The special cd thing was called an HD loader. I sold mine a few weeks ago, so I can't check to see if it works or not. Keep in mind that you could only play single player games with the HD loader.

Hacking the PS3 is one thing, Installing LInux is completely different, the main reason you dont see moded PS3's right now is the size of the media, I dont know your dowwload rates but to download a game thats 50GB in size will take a while to do so.

 

Blue ray Burners are still in the 100's of dollers range and the media is about $25 a disc.

 

Sony has been found to filling the discs with rubbish to fill the 50GB size and then putting the game in between the rubbish so even if the game is only 9GB in size the burn size is still 50GB

how bout getting free ps1 or ps2 games on it ..if u have the 40 gig? is there way 2 get that on there
