It’s been such a thrilling time for us here at Naughty Dog, especially as we’ve welcomed so many old and new fans of The Last of Us into the franchise. To celebrate all of your support, we have a surprise in the form of a free update hitting The Last of Us Part II Remastered today! Available for players as part of a downloadable update today, we’ve introduced a new way to play the story of The Last of Us Part II like never before – chronologically. Those who have already played will know its story is told non-linearly, as Ellie and Abby’s motivations, realizations, and emotional stakes unfold across myriad flashbacks and present-day storylines. While this structure is very intentional and core to how our studio wanted Part II’s themes and narrative beats to impact players, we always wondered what it would be like to experience this story chronologically. And now finally, we can answer that question. Through the new Chronological mode, we believe players will gain even deeper insight into Part II’s narrative. Players will be able to see how Ellie being gifted a guitar flows so neatly into her learning to play, for example, while the journey through Seattle will showcase the fascinating parallels between Ellie and Abby’s crisscrossing journeys. You’ll see just how close they come into running into each other, how their actions impact each other, and more. It was no small feat to bring The Last of Us Part II’s story chronologically together, given that Part II’s story is so meticulously put together. We’re grateful to the developers both at Naughty Dog and our partners at Nixxes to make the Chronological mode as smooth as possible. And while we of course recommend players still new to the game to play through Part II’s story as was originally developed, the team’s hard work has paid off with a fascinating new way to enjoy this chapter. And we also wanted to reward players for jumping into this new, transformative approach to our story. In addition to new trophies tied to completing the narrative experience in chronological order, doing so will also unlock two new, perhaps surprisingly familiar skins… View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image Yes, that’s right, play as Joel dressed as Nathan Drake and Tommy as Sam Drake in No Return. Particularly as we celebrate Naughty Dog’s 40th anniversary this year, we love getting the chance to spotlight and share in the history of our studio that we love as much as we know you do. These skins will be unlocked for completing the narrative in Chronological, and will be usable in No Return, Part II Remastered’s thrilling roguelike survival mode. A new update for The Last of Us Part II Remastered is available today on both PS5 (via Patch 2.1.0*) and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store (via Patch 1.5**), bringing with it the Chronological mode, as well as a host of additional bug fixes and performance improvements. We here at Naughty Dog are so grateful for all the love and support we’ve seen from The Last of Us fans these last few months. From the launch of The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PC, to The Last of Us Complete on PlayStation 5, to seeing your weekly reactions to season 2 of the television series, it’s been such a pleasure to celebrate this moment with you. *Account for PlayStation Network and internet connection required. *Internet connection required. ILL made quite the splash — or rather, splatter — when the trailer dropped at Summer Game Fest 2025. We saw a first-person horror game packed with guts, frenetic combat, and some heinously grotesque creatures — and we loved every disturbing little detail. So what kind of twisted minds can make a game like ILL? Ones well-versed in the horror genre. The developers at Team Clout have plenty of experience with horror, including working on several well-known TV and film projects (e.g. Longlegs, V/H/S/Beyond, It: Welcome to Derry), and they’re eager to bring their brand of terror to a new medium. We asked Team Clout founders and incredible artists Maxim Verehin and Oleg Vdovenko to let us pick their brains about ILL. The unique horror of ILL As Verehin tells us, ILL is “A story-driven action-horror game with visceral visuals, gruesome moments, interesting inspiration, exploration, and wild ideas — a good mix of survival horror elements and first-person 3D action. We’re working to balance the parts where players are s***ting their pants from fright with parts where players are screaming because they’re enjoying the intense action, shooting mechanics, and dismemberment.” Much of the details around the game’s story — which involves a mysterious fort in an Eastern European-like setting overrun by monstrosities — have been kept secret so far. While Verehin intends to keep it that way, he does share some information when we ask. “ILL’s focus is on the personal story of the main protagonist. His story is deeply interconnected with what is happening in the world. Broadly speaking, the world will feel isolated and hopeless. We want players to feel how dark the mood is. I hope the audience will sympathize with the main character and his personal motivations.” “We want ILL to make you feel like the horror is physically happening to you. Not just psychological tension or scripted scares, but a kind of grounded, body-level discomfort. The main thing that sets us apart is how we combine hyperrealistic body horror with a reactive, tactile world. Enemies don’t just die – they suffer, adapt, mutate. Your actions leave a mark, and the world responds.” – Max Verehin, Game Director & Co-founder, Team Clout Play Video Why the name “ILL?” Clearly, a lot of thought and care has gone into the game’s details, and the team wants to keep secrets to heighten the player experience. But we had to know: what’s behind the game’s name? “We really wanted a short, striking name that when you write it, it looks like a logo. The word represents something horrible, something sick, something cursed. Also, it reflects the monsters — I’m not gonna spoil our monsters’ origins, but there’s going to be a cool interconnection between the name and the story of the game.” Verify your age to view this content. Verify your age to view this content. Designing the monsters of ILL The creature designs by Oleg and Verehin have been getting plenty of attention. The pair have a shared background in concept art, and their twisted artistic sensibility has created a game filled with nightmarish encounters. What’s the inspiration behind the creatures of ILL? “Mostly old horror films from the 1970s to the 1990s,” says Oleg. “Everything was done with practical effects and quality animatronics. The imperfections were hidden with smart lighting and strong direction.” Verify your age to view this content. Verify your age to view this content. “In games,” says Verehin regarding early ILL inspirations, “it’s Half-Life 2, Silent Hill, and Resident Evil series – titles where the world felt alive and dangerous, where the horror wasn’t just visual but systemic. We were especially drawn to that feeling of being trapped somewhere real, reacting moment to moment with limited resources. From the beginning, we wanted to build something that felt grounded but deeply disturbing, an experience that doesn’t just scare you, but unsettles you long after you’ve put the controller down. Verehin elaborated on the monster design process. “We don’t have a set process for creating a new monster. Sometimes you have a concept drawing and say, ‘how can I make this concept art a playable character in the game?’ Sometimes you see a video online featuring a scary concept. ‘Can I make a monster like that?’ It sounds ridiculous, but sometimes it works. It’s inspiration that you got from your life experience.” “You also have to consider the monsters from a gameplay standpoint. They have to be fun to fight. There’s a trial and error process. Some designs were rejected because they didn’t work in the game.” The assorted nasties of ILL are more than just ugly faces, however — their uncanny animation adds to the visceral discomfort of looking at them. “We’ve had big help from the team of Mundfish in setting up our animation department. We have a lot of experience doing animation, like making our own short horror animations that taught us how movement should work in order to scare you,” Verehin explains. “We’ll have, for example, a monster that moves normally at first, but we’ll try and tweak it in ways to make it more unique and horrifying.” He shared a funny development story to illustrate. “28 seconds into the Official Trailer, this monster bends over. This is how Team Clout’s Art Director, Alexey Mikhailov, bent over for fun at one of the mockup sessions. The team found it really creepy, and they decided to include it in the game!” Verify your age to view this content. Verify your age to view this content. Oleg mentions that the animation was challenging at first, “especially when working at 60 frames per second. Compared to 30 FPS, animations can feel less cinematic. But over time, I got used to it—and now I actually like the feel of it.” What to expect from ILL gameplay How about the gameplay? Verehin explains: “You explore, you use resources, you find and upgrade weapons. You can use your resources to craft and update weapons. You’ll need to manage your inventory, of course, because resources are limited. There will be intense encounters — sometimes with single enemies, sometimes a small group, and cool moments when you fight waves of enemies and bosses.” There will also be environmental puzzles and interactions. “For example, if you fix the electricity in the area, the environment changes — things might become dark somewhere else. We want the setting to feel believable and realistic.” What are some of the weapons we’ll be using? “A shotgun, an AK- 47–there was like this revolver gun, a sniper rifle, all the standard things — and, not to spoil, but there will be fun, crafty weapons — and a lot of melee weapons as well.” Overall, what do the developers at Team Clout hope players take away from ILL? “We want players to tell each other, ‘Do you know about this game? This crazy thing happened!’ The other person would say, “Okay, but this happened in my playthrough!’ We’re making our game enjoyable for different people–not only horror fans, but also players who want to experience good storytelling and cool action.” ILL is in development for PlayStation 5, with release information to follow. Last month, we battled many forms and shapes of the supernatural to connect and escape. Some big new releases included Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, FBC: Firebreak, and Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic. How does it work? At the end of every month, PlayStation Blog will open a poll where you can vote for the best new game released that month. After the polls close we will tally your votes, and announce the winner on our social channels and PlayStation.Blog. What is the voting criteria? That’s up to you! If you were only able to recommend one new release to a friend that month, which would it be? Note: re-released games don’t qualify, but remakes do. We define remakes as ambitious, larger-scale rebuilds such as Resident Evil 4 (2023) and Final Fantasy VII Remake. How are nominees decided? The PlayStation Blog editorial team will gather a list of that month’s most noteworthy releases and use it to seed the poll. View the full article

When you first heard the announcement of Resident Evil Requiem, were the hairs on your arm suddenly standing up on end a sign of excitement, fear… or a little bit of both? Either way, there’s no denying that a new entry to this classic survival horror series always gets the blood pumping. Producer Masato Kumazawa got us a little more under the flesh of what we can expect when we head back to the broken and bleeding shell of Raccoon City… Play Video PlayStation Blog: What does “Requiem” infer about the game’s story? Masato Kumazawa: There are many layers to the title: a requiem for the protagonist, – Grace Ashcroft, – grappling with the loss of her mother eight years ago, and a requiem for all of the people who were caught up in the Raccoon City incident, to name but just a few examples. But once you complete the game, I believe you’ll find even more levels of meaning for the subtitle. “When creating a story set in the ruins of Raccoon City, we felt it was fitting to have a character with a personal connection to the city itself.” What made you want to bring back the Ashcroft family from the Resident Evil Outbreak series, and how does Grace’s inexperience factor into the player’s journey? When creating a story set in the ruins of Raccoon City, we felt it was fitting to have a character with a personal connection to the city itself. In this title, which aims to focus on horror, we introduce Grace as a new, relatable protagonist, who is unlike previous protagonists Leon or Chris. By making Grace someone who reflects the player’s own vulnerability, we believe players will enjoy a gameplay experience filled with tension and immersion. When walking alone down a dark hallway, her breathing becomes erratic; when an enemy suddenly appears, she jumps in fright. Grace is a character with a low tolerance for fear, but she grows throughout the story and eventually begins to confront various horrors with courage. By the time players finish the game, we’re confident everyone will have come to love her! Play Video “With Resident Evil Requiem we wanted to return to a story that continues the overarching narrative rooted in Raccoon City and the secret machinations of the Umbrella Corporation” We clearly see the ruins of Raccoon City and Raccoon City Police Department in the reveal trailer. Why return to this iconic setting? In recent mainline titles like Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village, the series has explored the broader world of the Resident Evil universe by focusing on incidents involving the Winters family. With Resident Evil Requiem, however, we wanted to return to a story that continues the overarching narrative rooted in Raccoon City and the secret machinations of the Umbrella Corporation. As the series celebrates its 30th anniversary, we believe Raccoon City is the most fitting setting. Was Village’s post-launch third-person perspective DLC a test for allowing both first and third-person perspectives? Why was that an important option to give to players? The third-person mode added to Resident Evil Village was created simply in response to fan requests and was not intended as a prototype. Our analysis of recent gameplay trends in the series revealed that many players tend to engage with either first-person or third-person titles exclusively. With that in mind, we’ve included both perspectives in RE9, driven by the desire for all Resident Evil fans to enjoy the latest installment. View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image What are the challenges in developing the game to be played so smoothly in both first and third-person at any time? In modern 3D-rendered games some may think that changing the perspective is a simple task. However, in the survival horror genre, where delicate adjustments are made to evoke fear in the player, there are significant differences between first-person and third-person perspectives. These differences affect not only character models and animations, but also fine-tuned balance, UI, sound design, and more. It’s essentially like developing two separate games in parallel. “Fear is something players tend to grow accustomed to over time, but with this title we’ve been more conscious than ever about maintaining a sense of tension throughout the experience.” What would you say are the philosophy and themes of Resident Evil RequiemRE9 in comparison to previous games? The concept of the game is “‘addictive fear”’ – the sense of experiencing something terrifying, but you can’t help wanting to know what happens next; you’re compelled to keep going. Fear is something players tend to grow accustomed to over time, but with this title we’ve been more conscious than ever about maintaining a sense of tension throughout the experience. The reason behind this concept is that recent entries in the series, such as Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4, while still horror titles, leaned heavily into action. With the latest installment we wanted to return to a game that puts a strong focus on horror. Are there any notable graphical improvements you’d pinpoint in the trailer that really highlight improvements through increased familiarity with the RE Engine? The RE Engine, which has powered many titles, continues to evolve. In the trailer you’ll notice many details expressed through the visuals, such as sweat trickling down Grace’s skin, the delicate texture of her hair, and the subtle trembling of her lips, showing her anxiety and tension. Greetings, scientists! July 22 fast approaches, a date which was forecast by our analysts and tested again and again deep in the labs of our facility! That’s right, we’ve been working on Abiotic Factor, a one-of-a kind co-op adventure. Go it alone or with up to 5 friends as enthusiastic eggheads trapped in a secret underground research and containment facility following an invasion by militant crusaders bent on bringing their science to an unceremonious halt. Use brains – not brawn – to survive, inventing and hacking your way sector by sector, inter-dimensional portal by inter-dimensional portal, to finally – hopefully – escape. Play Video Your first day When you start your first day at the GATE Cascade Research Facility, it’s bedlam in the laboratories. Starting in the quaint Office Sector, it’s up to you and your friends to take matters into your own hands, quite literally. Take care of your basic needs, from raiding vending machines and sleeping on couches to preparing meals from alien meats and breaking into the executive restroom on the coveted third floor… And that’s if the hazardous radiation spills don’t get you first. Build yourself a home inside the sprawling facility, a base or shelter using whatever you can scrap together! Stay cozy and stay safe amidst the scenic vistas of vacant cubicles and machinations of science and paranormal alike. Whether it’s adding an office water cooler to your living room, an advanced power system to keep everything running, or a dozen laser turrets to fend off foes, there’s always something more to invent, build, discover, and explore. Craft the equipment you need to combat a huge range of enemies from this world and a dozen other anteverses. Use destroyed computer parts, salvaged office equipment, alien artifacts and things your tiny human brain can barely comprehend – but it won’t stop you from trying. What are you, a coward? No, you’re a scientist. When you’re not fighting anomalous entities, you’re farming your hydroponics. When you’re not farming, you’re cooking up that meat just right or sitting around a makeshift heater with your pals… or trying to steal an abandoned forklift. As you scour the halls you may find yourself fighting for your life, but instead of fleeing like the scrawny egghead you might feel you are deep down inside, use that big wrinkly brain and science your way through enemy encounters to gain the upper hand, because if there’s one thing you have that they don’t, it’s the power of science at your very fingertips, right next to your calculator wristwatch. Upgrade your weapons at the Enhancement Bench and take a sip of coffee for a job well done. Traveling with friends? Take on the team role that suits you, whether it’s forager, fighter, chef, builder or explorer, there’s a dozen ways to play Abiotic Factor – and a dozen more that you might just invent along the way. Just don’t forget to stay hydrated, okay? A vast labyrinth The GATE Cascade Research Facility is an immense and interconnected underground world. Open up its bizarre secrets and anomalous wonders, chamber by chamber. Create shortcuts and explore every nook and cranny – we have both. Do this all while building up an ever-expanding bag of tricks to deal with the uncanny challenges that each new sector brings, and meet other scientific experts along the way who may help – or hinder – as you strive for ultimate survival. You’ll soon realize that the adventure goes far beyond the facility – to a myriad of strange worlds and distant, supernatural realms unlocked by science and other forces yet unknown to us mere clipboard-clutching mortals. The science must continue Whether you’re tackling your challenges as a mad scientist, or act as a more reserved researcher, through trial and error, you can survive. Just be sure to bring your favorite labcoat – and maybe a few colleagues as well. However you do it, you can discover the wonders, trials, and the triumph of Abiotic Factor on July 22, Day 1 as part of the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. We’ll see you soon in the GATE Cascade Research Facility. Onwards, to science! View the full article

Players can soon join Sam on the next chapter of his journey when Death Stranding 2: On the Beach arrives on PlayStation 5 consoles on June 26. We recently had a chance to speak with key members of the game’s development team: Yoji Shinkawa (Art Director, Character & Mech Design), Hiroaki Yoshiike (Lead Level Designer), Takayuki Uchida (Technical Art Director, Lead Environment Artist), and Akio Sakamoto (Chief Technology Officer, Technical Director). They gave us insights into their inspiration behind Sam’s next journey and how they brought their ideas to life. More intuitive, satisfying, and grittier combat PlayStation Blog: Were there any key takeaways from using the Decima Engine (a game engine developed by Guerrilla Games) in the first Death Stranding, and did any of those learnings impact the development of the sequel? Sakamoto: When developing the first game, our hands were full trying to master the various features of the engine, partly because it was our first time using Decima, and partly because our highest priority was to release a game as quickly as possible. However, with Death Stranding 2, we kicked off development with a better grasp on the engine, so we were able to leverage its features and make improvements that served our purpose better. Death Stranding 2 was tailored for PS5. How have the graphics evolved, and are there any visual enhancements that were only possible thanks to the power of PlayStation 5 Pro? Uchida: We implemented a new day/night cycle in the open world. This achieves more realistic transitions between the time of day and introduces new dynamics that weren’t present in the previous title. The scenery and atmosphere now change depending on the time of day, so exploration is also more compelling and exciting. For the base PS5’s Performance Mode, we stabilized the framerate by switching the LOD (Level of Detail) earlier to reduce geometry and adjust the resolution dynamically. On PS5 Pro, players can enjoy a higher resolution that is closer in quality to Resolution Mode, while maintaining 60fps gameplay. Combat has been enhanced significantly. What principles guided you when implementing some of the changes? Yoshiike: We focused on making the combat more intuitive, satisfying, and grittier than the predecessor. The previous game required players to switch bullets based on enemy type, which was important to us as part of world-building, but we removed that complexity in Death Stranding 2. We also fine-tuned certain elements, like improving the gunplay to feel snappier and adding slo-mo effects during combat so it’s easier and more satisfying to chain attacks. Sam is a porter, so rather than focusing on stylish moves, we emphasized action that felt more grounded and relied on Sam’s physical capabilities. Are there any conversations you had with Kojima-san that stand out? Uchida: One day early in development, a casual hallway conversation turned into a full-blown brainstorming session. Kojima-san joined the conversation mid-way, and the atmosphere instantly shifted. He came up with so many incredible ideas at lightning speed, and I was completely awestruck. Kojima-san’s ability to think outside the box and his dedication to the creative process inspired me to stay focused and committed as well. More authentic emotions realized by 4D scanning technology Characters in Death Stranding 2 feel much more expressive and nuanced compared to the previous game. Were there any points of focus or technological advancements that made this possible? Uchida: Story is at the core of Death Stranding 2, so we leveraged 4D scanning for key characters to preserve subtle muscle movements and facial expressions of the actors. As a result, the characters’ actions and emotions feel more authentic, which I think will resonate with players at a deeper level. What was your vision when designing new enemies, including massive bosses and the Ghost Mech? Shinkawa: As always, Kojima-san challenged us to come up with something entirely new and different. Developing new character designs are always difficult, and with the Ghost Mech, we not only came up with a new design, but we also expanded on its origin and backstory. Death Stranding 2 introduces many new weapons and items. What was the thought process behind these new additions? Shinkawa: At its core, the game is about delivering supplies, so we needed to treat weapons as cargo that players carried around. Deciding what to transport is part of the gameplay, so we wanted the weapons to fold and transform into boxes or containers that function as cargo. The change in physical volume can appear uncanny in CGI, but we made sure that the transformation was believable without being visually contradictory. Are there any in-game locations you’d like players to look out for in particular? Uchida: We poured a lot of time and effort into developing the snowy mountains again in this title, and they will offer an even more compelling experience than the first game. The difficulty will vary significantly depending on the climbing route you choose, but players can look forward to breathtaking views at the end of each hard-earned ascent. Any final words for players looking forward to the game’s launch? Yoshiike: We’re thrilled that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is finally launching. The game is packed with features and mechanics that many players will enjoy. Players from around the globe can connect and come together via the game’s SSS (Social Strand System). Every player will make connections in their own ways, and naturally, every experience that emerges from those connections will be unique. I hope players will have fun discovering those special moments as well. View the full article

We are pleased to share that Digimon Story Time Stranger, the first completely new installment in the Digimon Story series in nearly a decade, will be released on October 3. Digimon Story Time Stranger is a monster-raising RPG that combines a rich narrative centered on the bond between humans and Digimon, a deeply strategic turn-based battle system, and extensive Digimon collection, training, and customization mechanics. Players take on the role of an agent from the secret organization ADAMAS, which specializes in investigating supernatural phenomena. Your mission will take you across both the human world and the Digital World: Iliad – and beyond the boundaries of time itself. The game is developed by Media.Vision, the team behind the fan-favorite Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth. Building on that experience, we’ve introduced new systems and immersive ways to express the game’s world, story, and characters to create a special experience for longtime fans and those just discovering Digimon games alike. What Is a Digimon? In this title, Digimon are electronic lifeforms that possess characteristics of both organic matter and electric signals. Early on, players will take on their first hostile Digimon encounter with their choice of a Digimon provided by ADAMAS. Defeat each Digimon type often enough to create an instance of it in a process known as Conversion. You can collect and train over 450 Digimon, each with unique traits and non-linear evolution paths. Attributes and Elements – How to beat the odds The turn-based battle system is built around the interaction of Digimon Attributes and Element. Their interactions create a battle environment where deeper strategies can emerge. Attribute: Vaccine, Virus, Data, Free, Variable, and others (7 total) Element: Fire, Water, Plant, and others (11 total) Virus-type Digimon are weak to Vaccine-type, which are weak to Data-type. The other Attributes have their own strengths and weaknesses. Separately, each Digimon has resistances and weaknesses to the Elements. For example, if your opponent is a Virus-type, attacking with a Vaccine-type Digimon will grant a +100% damage bonus. Additionally, using Water-type skills against them if they’re weak to water will further increase the damage multiplier! The reverse is also true—if both attribute and element matchups are unfavorable, the damage dealt will be significantly reduced. Gain the battle advantage by obtaining a variety of Digimon through both converting Digimon and by Digivolving them. As digital beings, Digivolution is not linear—meeting certain conditions will unlock multiple evolution paths, and Digimon can even be De-digivolved to a younger form, allowing for flexible training strategies. Digimon Personalities – daring or adoring? One of the new systems introduced in Time Stranger is Personalities. Each Digimon has one of 16 personality types, which influence stat growth, skill acquisition, and even digivolution conditions. For example, a Digimon with a Daring personality will see higher growth in Attack and Defense, making it more suited for physical offense. They can also learn personality-linked skills that enhance combat capabilities. While a Digimon’s personality is initially determined when it is converted, it can be changed later through communication and training using special items in the Digifarm. That means you can have two of the same Digimon that may perform differently based on their Personalities. Agent Skills – lend a helping hand Another new system is Agent Skills, which represents the player’s own abilities as an ADAMAS agent. By completing missions, players earn points that can be used to unlock various effects—such as enhancing Digimon with specific personalities, increasing experience gain, or easing digivolution requirements. These skills allow for even more depth in how you prepare for battles. Agents also have unique abilities known as Cross Arts – powerful techniques that fuse the player’s Digivice with a Digimon’s power during battles. Cross Arts can significantly influence combat with support effects like stat boosts or follow-up attacks. As your Digimon train and evolve, you will also experience your own growth, indicated by Agent Rank. This directly affects your Digimon’s strength. We encourage players to take on missions proactively, raise their rank, and experience the sense of unity that comes from fighting alongside their Digimon teammates. As you can see, Attributes, Elements, and Digivolving – along with the new Digimon Personalities and Agent Skills – all work together to add strategic depth to this unique battle system. Every fight is an opportunity to understand the strengths and weaknesses of Digimon and an opportunity to build a roster of Digimon ready for any scenario. Digimon Story Time Stranger releases on October 3 on PS5 and is available for pre-order today. Check out the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions as those will include a season pass to enrich your adventure with additional Digimon and story episodes. View the full article

Attention, drivers! Drive the iconic WRC champion and the mini-Italian stallion, the ’92 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Rally Car with Update 1.60 for GT7. The very French slab-sided ’87 Citroën BX 19 TRS and ’21 Peugeot SUV 2008 round out the Euro-leaning car additions. Three new events, an Extra Menu, new Scotland Scapes location, and expanded Sophy AI racing agent to the Alsace – Village circuit round out the very fresh and very free content, courtesy of the Polyphony team. Update 1.60* for Gran Turismo 7 is available as of today Wednesday, June 25 at 11:00pm PDT / June 26 at 3:00pm JST / 8:00am CEST. *Internet connection and Gran Turismo 7 game required for update. Play Video New cars** ’87 Citroën BX 19 TRS (Can be purchased from Brand Central / Used Cars) Citroën’s do-it-all tourer features a modern new look. In 1976, Citroën started over again as part of Peugeot. This raised questions from many as to what a Citroën was now, and the BX was released to answer them, debuting at the 1982 Paris Auto Salon. The BX was filled with elements that were undeniably Citroën-esque. It retained the image of classic Citroën models like the GS and CX in a thoroughly modern package that featured simple, yet strong lines. The cabin was comfortable and there was plenty of room for luggage as well. The design itself was conceived by Marcello Gandini, who was working for Bertone at that time. Much thought was also put into the mechanicals. While many models had begun to share more and more parts with Peugeots, the BX featured the signature hydropneumatic suspension. This system uses nitrogen gas and oil instead of conventional coil springs and dampers. This allows for the ride height to be adjusted freely and also creates the unique feel of a Citroën. The car was available with a number of different engines, but the 19 TRS featured here is a grand tourer-style model using a 1.9L gasoline engine. While not a particularly powerful engine, it is helped along by the relatively lightweight and aerodynamic body, allowing it to tackle long drives on holiday with ease. The BX would prove to be a success for Citroën, selling for 12 years running. This car also proved that Citroën was still a competitor at a time when there was constant innovation in the French automotive industry. ’92 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Rally Car (Can be purchased from Brand Central) The pinnacle of the Lancia Delta, winner of 6 consecutive WRC titles. After Group B racing was dropped from the WRC, Lancia chose the Delta as their Group A machine. Converted to 4WD and sporting a turbocharger, this high-performance model was dubbed the HF 4WD and entered the 1987 WRC. The following year, the Delta HF 4WD was equipped with audacious blister wheel arches and evolved into the Integrale. In 1990, the Integrale’s engine was given a 16-valve head, further increasing power. However, Toyota’s Celica was considerably more competitive, and the Delta saw the Drivers’ Title snatched from its grasp by the Celica in 1990 and again in 1991. Thus, in 1992 Lancia released what should be called the final evolution of the Delta. The new Integrale improved handling through body reinforcement and, with extensive revisions to the suspension, the wheeltrack was expanded. Accordingly, the blister wheel arches got even larger. In order to gain more downforce, a spoiler was attached to the end of the roof, and the torque split of the 4WD system was shifted toward the rear wheels—the car was set up more like a rear-wheel drive. Thanks to these improvements, the Delta regained its competitive strength. In 1992, works racing activity did not take place due to the policy at Lancia’s parent company FIAT, but Lancia joined forces with the Jolly Club satellite team and gave full technical support. Juha Kankkunen and Didier Auriol participated in 11 of the 14 rounds in the series, with Auriol taking six wins, Kankkunen winning once, and Andrea Aghini also winning once, for a total of eight wins that year—giving Lancia the constructors’ title for the sixth consecutive year. ’21 Peugeot SUV 2008 Allure (Can be purchased from Brand Central) This compact SUV displays Peugeot design touches throughout. Peugeot has produced a number of lively compact cars over the years. This fervour can still be seen today where SUVs control the market. They saw success in 2013 with their ‘2008’ compact SUV, but the model would be developed even further in 2019 with the release of the ‘SUV 2008’. Peugeot model names had traditionally been a string of three numbers with a 0 in the middle, but SUV models extended this to four digits. The SUV 2008 follows this rule as well, using the same CMP platform as the ‘208’ hatchback. At 4.3m long, the car is actually relatively short, but in looks it displays the full grandeur that an SUV should. The motifs of the lights conjure images of a lion’s claws and fangs, which has become part of Peugeot’s design identity in recent years. Looking at the interior, you will notice the unique driver layout, dubbed the 3D i-Cockpit. This consists of a small-diameter steering wheel with a flattened top and bottom, and a head-up digital instrument panel centred above it, which provides a sporty feeling and unmatched driver visibility. Cafe / Extra Menus The following Menu will be added to the Extra Menus section: Extra Menu No. 46: Mercedes-Benz (Collector Level 50) World Circuits (New Events) The following new events have been added to World Circuits: Sunday Cup: Willow Springs International Raceway: Streets of Willow Springs Reverse European Sunday Cup 400: Watkins Glen Short Course World Rally Challenge Gr.B: Colorado Springs – Lake Gran Turismo Sophy The next-generation racing AI agent, Gran Turismo Sophy is now available on the following courses. Look for the Sophy icon in Quick Race and Custom Race on each track to test your skills against Sophy. Alsace – Village Scapes Scotland has been added as a featured Curation in Scapes. **Credits (paid or via game progression) required to purchase vehicles. View the full article

Ah, hello again little Visitor. It’s been a while, but we’re so pleased to see you here in the Spiral, ready to discover more about one of the picturesque amusements you’ll be touring in Little Nightmares III, coming to your PS5 and PS4 on October 10, 2025. When you enter the world of Little Nightmares, you’ll be visiting the Nowhere, a vast and surreal land where the odds are stacked against you; where children must use their wits and courage to survive. It’s a place made for adults, you see. Where the rotten cruelty of the grown-up world is an ever-present danger, constantly permutating into new and frightening places and hosting new Residents to populate them. Play Video This time, you’ll play Low and Alone, best friends ever since they found each other in this lonely nightmare. They have been traveling together in search of what every Visitor wants: an escape from the Nowhere. Like other Visitors, they’ve been through many harrowing moments, only surviving thanks to their teamwork and quick thinking. Now, they have a plan that will supposedly let them leave this unpleasant dream behind, but to get to their destination, they’ll have to explore, hide, and even defend themselves, working together as a team. Today, let’s go on an outing to Carnevale. Low and Alone find themselves on a rainy pier in the middle of the night. In the distance, the glow of lights beckons, and once again, the smell of candied treats lingers in the air. They are suddenly in the midst of a ramshackle fun fair, faded greasepaint and flickering bulbs shout distractions from every direction. Fortunately for the children, the local Herd are too busy playing rigged games and eating Factory sweets to notice the children sneaking around – unless they draw too much attention… That being said, there are times when drawing the attention of the Herd is advantageous. Sometimes, you can lure these lumbering creatures into danger or use them to destroy obstacles to your progress. Then, it’s simply a matter of escaping before they can catch up to you. That shouldn’t be too hard, right, little ones? Each broken-down attraction is hosted by a puppet barker with no visible strings and unpiloted by any visible hands. These child-sized marionettes are not very welcoming to Visitors, and will attack any little guest who wanders too close for comfort. With a bit of cooperation between Low’s bow and Alone’s wrench, they can disable these pugnacious puppets before they can strike. It might seem like an atypically pleasant place for the Nowhere, with the relatively cheerful atmosphere, but not all is well in this three-ringed circus. You can see it in the rotted planks of the pier, the strangled customers standing in for pinatas; and yet, the Herd marches on through the midway, dazzled by strings of flickering carbon lights and tantalized by the sighing pipes of a distant calliope, all of them unaware that death is lurking somewhere among the sodden painted canvas walls of the Carnevale big top tents. As Low and Alone stowaway on the rickety rollercoaster headed for the main attraction, they have no idea what terrors might be waiting for them on the other side. Someone is running this show, but who? Find out for yourself when Little Nightmares III launches on PS5 and PS4 on October 10, 2025. Pre-order today and get access to more content! At long last, Studio Chyr is revealing Hotel Infinity, our follow-up to Manifold Garden, which is coming to PS VR2 later this year. Hotel Infinity shares a lot of DNA with Manifold Garden, like exploring impossible spaces, but is set in a mysterious new universe that takes advantage of the unique experiences that only VR can deliver. Play Video Explore for hours without leaving your living room From the beginning, Hotel Infinity has been designed to be a revolutionary Room-scale experience. The game’s clever use of portals, lifts, and impossibly winding hallways will make players feel like they’ve been walking through a hotel for hours when they haven’t left the 2-meter x 2-meter boundaries of their Room-scale playspace. These mechanics (and others) have been developed to ensure that the entire game is traversable without the use of game sticks or point-to-teleport mechanics. As the game approaches launch, we’ll share a lot more about the other technical tricks we’ve developed. Impossible spaces big and small Hotel Infinity’s halls are filled with architectural contradictions and enigmatic puzzles. Whether you’re exploring the hotel’s guest-facing areas like the luxury suites and atrium, the employee-only kitchens and service tunnels, or the darker secrets that hide beneath every nook and cranny is packed with plausibly-impossible interactions. While the core experience is all about exploring the hotel, we couldn’t follow up Manifold Garden without cooking up some absolutely mind-bending puzzles. All of the game’s interaction mechanics take advantage of the unique expressive nature of the PS VR2 Sense controllers. In Hotel Infinity, something as mundane as a briefcase can contain nested layers of surprises, requiring you to push, pull, twist, and slide objects through impossible space in order to get at their secrets. Striking visuals and familiar tones While Hotel Infinity doesn’t use Manifold Garden’s distinctive minimalist visual style, we’re proud to share its own unique aesthetic with PlayStation fans. The PS VR2 allows us to deliver a beautiful and atmospheric experience with a fantastic performance to match. Headset feedback and PS VR2 Sense controller haptics give you yet more reasons to get fully immersed in the halls of Hotel Infinity. Additionally, fans of Manifold Garden will be delighted to hear that Laryssa Okada is returning to compose a completely original soundtrack for Hotel Infinity. You can get a sneak preview of her fantastic work in the trailer linked above. Roomscale-first, but built for everyone We built Hotel Infinity to revolutionize how games can be experienced in Room-scale in order to push the immersive nature of VR forward as far as we can. While this is intended to be the primary way to play the game, we know a lot of people aren’t able to play in Room-scale mode for a variety of reasons. To that end, we’re developing robust alternative locomotion controls in order to make sure the game is also fully playable in Sitting and Standing modes. We can’t wait for you to explore every impossible corner when Hotel Infinity launches on PS VR2 later this year! View the full article

Hello everyone, I’m Dylan from Q-Games. We’re thrilled to reveal the very first gameplay footage of the PS VR2 version of Dreams of Another, the latest title in the PixelJunk series, coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2. Play Video Journey into dreams shaped by point cloud technology Dreams of Another is a third-person exploration-action game built around the philosophical theme: No Creation Without Destruction. Unlike traditional TPS games where shooting destroys objects, here, shooting materializes and creates from an otherwise abstract, fragmented world. The game’s standout feature is its use of point cloud rendering, where space is visualized as a collection of floating particles. On PS VR2, this technique truly shines, enveloping the player in a dreamlike world where your body feels as though it’s dissolving into the environment. The result is a mysterious and deeply immersive sensation, like traveling within a dream itself. Thanks to VR, players can feel that they physically exist within these worlds made up of nothing but particles. A mysterious story of The Man in Pajamas and The Wandering Soldier At the heart of Dreams of Another is a surreal journey through a dream world, led by two characters, The Man in Pajamas and The Wandering Soldier. But this world isn’t just inhabited by people: trees swaying in the wind, lonely doors, softly glowing streetlights, andall sorts of objects come alive with humorous dialogue that casts a quirky light on the questions of human society. Through VR, they feel as though they’re right there in front of you, drawing you even more deeply in. Seamlessly switch between first and third-person perspectives In the PS VR2 version, players can switch between the third-person perspective used in the PS5 version and a special VR-only first-person mode. The third-person view emphasizes the game’s concept and storytelling, allowing players to watch the narrative unfold while seeing their character. In contrast, the first-person mode offers heightened immersion, placing the world of point clouds directly in front of your eyes and allowing for close-up inspection of every detail. We recommend using the DualSense controller for third-person mode and the PS VR2 Sense controllers for first-person mode. Either way, you’ll experience the shimmering, particle-built dream as if you were truly inside it. Eye-tracking camera control in third-person view Third-person mode takes advantage of eye-tracking, allowing players to shoot simply by looking in a direction. This keeps the intuitive feel of the standard PS5 version while making gameplay even faster and more fluid. Both the regular and VR versions use haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for a uniquely Dreams of Another experience to further deepen the immersion. A variety of weapons and quirky items As players traverse the dreamlike landscape built of point clouds, they’ll encounter entities called Auras. These require a variety of weapons such as submachine guns , grenades and rocket launchers to overcome and these are unlocked as you play through. The rocket launcher, in particular, offers a thrilling experience as its immense power scatters wide areas of point clouds, instantly materializing the impact zone. Grenades, on the other hand, offer a tense and strategic gameplay experience as players must carefully time their explosions to hit the Auras. VR amplifies the tension and impact of Aura encounters in a different way again, making them feel even more direct and thrilling. You’ll also discover curious items likeSomeone’s wedding ring or A blown fuse that has served its purpose, adding another layer of exploration and wonder to the game. Stay tuned for more updates on Dreams of Another as we head towards launch on PS5, PS VR2 later this year! View the full article

For those new to the game, Grit and Valor – 1949 is a real-time tactics roguelite set in an alt-history World War 2. Evil Axis forces dominate, and Europe is on its knees – only you stand as humanity’s final hope. Become the Commander of an elite Mech Squadron across thrilling battles – think fast, take a stand, and get ready to liberate Europe and free the world. When we started work on the game, we always thought it would be a brilliant fit for the VR platform. We were delighted when our sister studio, nDreams, stepped in to collaborate with us on the project, bringing over 10 years of experience working on titles across the original PlayStation VR and PS VR2. We’d love to take you through what makes this experience so unique. Play Video Become the Commander VR allows you to immerse yourself from the perspective of different roles and characters, and what better role than to play from the perspective of a General, commanding their army from the war room. We’ve seen this scene play out in countless movies – it’s tense, dramatic, and thrilling. Immersing yourself in VR, directing and overseeing from above the battlefield, makes the scale of your decisions – and your pursuit of victory – feel so much bigger. A whole new perspective to strategic warfare The game’s visuals and perspective were originally inspired by tabletop wargames, even down to the painterly art style where miniature mech units almost feel like they’ve been painted by hand. When matched with VR, this unique perspective gives the feeling of playing with a battlefield diorama, but with the magic of your units animating – lean in and watch them instantly come to life or pick up your units to examine them up close. Going further, combining this perspective with the immediacy of the PS VR2 Sense Controllers allows the precision that a mouse offers but with the addition of tactility that you would experience in real life. From headsets to head rumble, the game fully utilizes the power of PlayStation VR2 to deliver a visually stunning, immersive experience. Regroup, rebuild, redeploy across a full campaign Building upon the original PS5 game, we have allowed players access to the full VR campaign. Set out to liberate Europe across a host of missions, but remember, if your Command Vehicle is destroyed, the mission is over. Regroup at the Resistance Base, rebuild and upgrade your squad, and redeploy. Different units and updates allow for countless strategic approaches and opportunities for your next run. What’s more, purchasing the game will give you access to both the PS5 and PS VR2 versions, allowing you to play the campaign across PS VR2, PS5 and even the PS Portal. The game is perfect to pick up for a quick session on the sofa, in front of the telly, or for immersive sessions in VR. You can experience Grit and Valor – 1949 VR on PlayStation VR2 on August 21. Face the challenge, chase the high scores, and etch your name among the cosmic elite on the leaderboards. Speed, strategy, survival Meteora is more than just a high-speed combat racer, it’s an unforgiving test of instinct and precision. Every second demands split-second strategy and decisions as you navigate explosive asteroids belts, electrically charged debris, and icy barriers that threaten to freeze your momentum. But fear not, the universe does throw lifelines. Scattered throughout space are Energy Crystals to increase your mass, and Stardust to push your velocity to the limit. Do you hoard mass for durability or fuel for raw acceleration? The landscape shifts with every level, leaving you with only one choice – adapt; here, balance is everything. But you are not alone on this path. The most unpredictable hazards in Meteora are the other meteors on your path, each with its own elemental composition and unique abilities. Every meteor that crosses your path presents an opportunity or a threat. Some are rivals, some are fuel for your journey, but all are obstacles in your pursuit for survival. Harnessing their energy is the only option you have. Master the takedown Combat in the Meteora cosmos is fast and ruthless. Executing takedowns on rival Meteors is a rush! Flawless takedowns grant you momentary invincibility, allowing you to tear through space unchallenged while also presenting a perfect tool for split-second decision-making thrills. From cascading obstacles to Astral Spirits that mimic organic life; Survival isn’t just about speed. It’s about understanding the chaos that you are a part of. Total immersion in PS VR2 Feel the scale of space like never before. Meteora leverages PlayStation VR2’s features to deliver an unparalleled experience. With motion controls designed for the PS VR2 Sense controllers, the game fully utilizes the haptic feedback and high-resolution display, making every collision, chase, and planetary impact feel intensely real. In VR, Meteors loom larger, black holes are more ominous, and every takedown feels like a moment of pure cosmic dominance. When it comes to space racing and high-impact collisions, Meteora delivers an unparalleled sense of immersion, thanks to the advanced haptic technology of the PS5 DualSense and PS VR2 Sense controllers. Every collision, rumble, and crackle has been meticulously integrated into controller feedback, allowing players to feel the roughness of the cosmic terrain while visually floating through the vastness of space. The meteor boost rumble, synced with adaptive triggers, gives a realistic sensation of controlling an untamed force of nature. As speed modes and power-ups shift, the triggers tighten and release, reflecting the intensity of acceleration and deceleration. The tactile experience extends to electrification and freezing effects, making these moments truly visceral. One of our favorite sensations is tailgating enemy meteors. The faint yet distinct rumbles mimic the fiery heat of an opponent’s trail, adding a subtle but impactful layer of immersion that only the Sense controllers can achieve. Beyond realism, we’ve designed the controls to feel intuitive and effortless, ensuring players exert minimal effort for maximum fun. Since no one truly knows what piloting a meteor feels like, we’ve abandoned traditional steering mechanics. Instead, we aimed for a fluid, organic movement system, making the experience as natural as possible because being a meteor should be instinctive, not complicated. With haptics, adaptive triggers and 3D Audio integration, Meteora transforms space racing into an experience you can see, hear, and feel. VR or flat screen- The choice is yours Meteora is designed to provide a seamless experience, whether played in VR or non-VR. Players will receive the full adventure regardless of their preference. More than just a bit of lore, this was meant to communicate that in our game, remaining vigilant is of the utmost importance. That’s because, in addition to careful resource management, you also have to deal with enemies that can merge with each other during battle. This radically alters the dynamic of every encounter, with each Merge exponentially increasing its difficulty in real-time. To that end, we made a short dev diary that details how the combat system in Cronos works in practice, while also addressing several key questions from our community: Play Video Escalating threats: How merging transforms your enemies In Cronos, enemies known as Orphans can absorb dead bodies to evolve into even stronger and more resilient foes, complete with new attack patterns. This adds another layer of complexity to combat, because by killing Orphans you’re effectively providing fuel for other nearby enemies to evolve and become more powerful in the process. Having the Merge as a fully integrated gameplay system fundamentally shifts the balance of combat, especially in a game where ammo is scarce and crafting opportunities are limited. Most enemies in Cronos are capable of merging with each other. Your goal is to stop them at all costs, or deal with the consequences. Arena Control: Turning the odds in your favor The best way to counteract the Merge is by preventing it from happening in the first place. Often, combat in Cronos requires navigating handcrafted arenas filled with multiple enemies. Since merging requires dead bodies to absorb, spatial awareness is critical. Space out your kills, lure foes away from fallen bodies, and be ready to interrupt merging attempts mid-fight. When it comes to your gear, you’ll have an entire arsenal at your disposal for every situation. Weapons like the Javelin, with its rapid-fire capacity, are perfect for crowd control. Others, like the Hammer, deal heavy damage at close range – ideal for finishing off tough enemies before they can merge. Rapidly switching between weapons according to their range and effectiveness in each situation is key to gaining the upper hand in combat. Enemy Roles: Tips and tricks to defeat them When it comes to enemy design, we wanted the Orphans to challenge players in distinct ways by featuring different attack patterns and fulfilling specific roles in combat. To take them down efficiently, it’s crucial to observe their behavior and adapt your strategy to counter their moves. One enemy type you’ll encounter often is the Doppelganger. Scattered throughout New Dawn, not all Doppelgangers look or act alike. Instead, they can be grouped into different categories based on their combat style. Some are runners, rushing towards the player to inflict melee damage. Others have ranged attacks, forcing players to approach them instead. Then there are the bruisers, heavy-hitting, durable foes who can soak up damage and are best dealt with using close-range shotgun blasts. And, of course, they all can merge with each other, gaining new abilities and attack patterns with each evolution. Additionally, there are special enemies that only appear in select locations, but we will be revealing more about them in future updates. That concludes our quick overview of how to approach combat in Cronos: The New Dawn. Through incorporating the Merge as a central combat mechanic, we aim to ensure that every encounter in the game feels both memorable and unpredictable. This approach also reflects our commitment towards evolving the survival horror formula itself, by constantly pushing its boundaries and transforming what the genre can offer. Cronos: The New Dawn will be available on PlayStation 5 in 2025. View the full article
