  1. A week after <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/killzone-mercenary/" target="_blank">Killzone Mercenary’s</a> launch, one of the great things to see is how so many different people play the game in so many different ways. Looking at the stats I can see that the M82 and the silenced STA-52SE are the weapons of choice for a lot of people, each racking up 5M+ kills already, but digging deeper it's great to see that some of the other weapons are being wielded very effectively. 5. The amount of work and artistry that went into the concept art behind <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/the-last-of-us/" target="_blank">The Last of Us</a> is remarkable. We wanted to celebrate the hard work our concept art team puts into their pieces, and our last episode in The Last of Us Development Series does just that. If you haven’t beaten the campaign yet, hold off on watching the video, as it has some spoilers. Enjoy. More...

  11. Hi everyone. At last, after more than three years of hard work, we finally get to launch Puppeteer today for PS3. It’s a true labor of love, and we can’t wait to see what you all think of it. Take a look at the launch trailer for a taste of what's to come. When I started with Puppeteer, the idea was to take a lot of inspiration from Japanese culture and mash it up into a crazy game. I really like that old look, but I'm glad we decided, as a team, to move the art direction to where we are now. Mixing both Western and Japanese influences and moving more towards a darker, grimmer fairy tale. Besides, it would have been hard to be as creative and crazy with the characters and the world if we had stuck to the original look. More...
  12. After almost two years, four PAX showings (as well as GDC, E3, etc) it’s almost bittersweet to be finally announcing this. It was just over a year ago that we first announced this game was coming to <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/category/psn/" target="_blank">PSN</a>. But you can’t understand why that is until you look at what <em>really</em> went into this game... More...

  14. Scrooge McDuck pogoed to the top of the PS3 charts in WayForward's HD remaster of Capcom's classic DuckTales. We saw strong debuts from Payday 2, Madden NFL 25, and Saints Row IV as well. Dragon's Crown took over the PS Vita charts last month, but Rayman Origins almost took it out (leading into this month's release of its sequel, Rayman Legends). Spelunky and The Walking Dead both launched last month and earned their spots in the top 10, as well. More...

  18. With a small build, dainty crown, and a sword too big too wield, Aurora is an unlikely heroine for an adventure. And yet how perfect a character, and champion, for Ubisoft's upcoming JRPG tribute, Child of Light. This dazzling array of fantasy aims to open the gates to the world of JRPGs for all gamers, welcoming both long-time enthusiasts and complete newcomers. It's disarmingly beautiful, lacquered in charm, complexly elegant, and even a little haunting. It's scheduled for launch sometime in 2014, on PS3 and PS4. More...

  20. Ubisoft has revealed one of their latest projects built on UbiArt Framework -- known for its use in the marvelous Rayman games. Titled Valiant Hearts: The Great War, this puzzle adventure will follow five characters from different countries as they struggle to survive one of the most devastating events in human history: the first World War. Ubisoft Montpellier is handling development of Valiant Hearts, and aims to launch on PS3 and PS4 sometime next year. In Valiant Hearts, the five characters are drawn together by one common cause: reuniting a young German soldier with his lost love. More...

  22. The PlayStation 4 launch is almost-kind-of-near-but-still-3 months-away, and we hope you’re excited for it as much as many of us are over here. If you caught word of how things went at Gamescom and PAX, we had a lot of great news and announcements -- particularly the tease of a brand new power and reveal of a new character for Infamous Second Son! Coming early next year, the team over at Sucker Punch Productions is excited to keep talking to you about the game over the next few months, and show you even more leading up to our launch. More...
  23. Prepare to destroy some aliens -- Galaga Legions DX can be downloaded for free with Instant Game Collection access this week. This arcade classic shoot-‘em-up pits you against waves of aliens called Galaga, but they’re basically space bees (<a href=" " target="_blank">“NOOOOOO! NOT THE BEES!!!!â€</a>). <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/08/19/ps-vita-summer-select-four-new-indies-get-ps-plus-discounts/" target="_blank">PS Vita Summer Select</a> is ending this week with Dragon Fantasy Book II, the sequel to, you guessed it, Dragon Fantasy Book I. 25. On PS Vita this week, Killzone: Mercenary makes full use of the PS Vita’s input and graphics capabilities. It enhances the familiar dual-stick FPS control scheme with touch controls for actions such as brutal melee, and with tilt controls for accurate sniper aiming. The game even uses the powerful Killzone 3 engine to bring its massive environments and impressive set pieces to life. On PS3 Blu-ray and PSN, Puppeteer is a set in a magical puppeteer’s theatre, introducing you to a strange and fantastic world, where the environment is constantly changing. Players will enjoy a rich, dark fairytale where surprises lurk around every corner. Enjoy this week’s The Drop! More...
