Okay, lets get BACK ON TOPIC. [uF] Now owns the Patent for TacMap Tournaments. The only thing that is 'pending'...is Shane getting the License to post on his wall!

I was really bummed when a tournament site that I played at closes its doors without any notice from owner (who also didn't contact the staff running the site for him and ignored attempts to contact him thereafter for two weeks) right when one is the #2 seed headed into the first week of playoffs. I guess sometimes other things are more important. Which I can understand somewhat, but as a former leader and member of a successful and competitive clan, I see how much effort, time, and dedication is required by every single member of the clan. Not only was my clan effected, but also the few other clans and all their members too.

 

I'm not claiming to know the ins and outs of running and owning a tournament site and operation of it nor do I see how my post is even relevant to this thread. I suppose this post might be better suited as a personal message, much like most of this discussion could be handled in a professional manner, like how CEOs of businesses send each other professional letters on nice paper and print form, via snail mail. But I digress.

 

Be this as it may, if the patent was approved, I really don't see it as an ultmatum for other sites. Is the tacmap a good concept? Yes. Is it the only "other" way to run a tournament, besides a ladder or round robin format? No. Do we need a bunch of sites running the same style of tournament? No, because that would make tacmaps boring. Surely other sites can find their own creative and innovative niche.

 

Now if the patent is not approved, then there is nothing to worry about.

 

I'm new to Socom and don't know much about the other Socom clans, where can my clan find you guys at TNU? I saw your ranking on the in-game ladder, not too shabby. You going to participate in Endurance? In-game ladder? Other? Feel free to hit us up anytime on the ladder if you see us on.

TNU will be participating ( In Some "other" tournament sites) At this time. We have not decided whether or not to participate in UF's Tournaments. Either Way you can challenge us on the in game system any time. We seem to be having multiple games going at once lately. Everything is very busy for us right now as a clan as there are many new options going on. What I personally posted above was why I came to this thread to talk about it. It's not as if anything any of us say is going to matter, but In general it still needs to be said.

I was going to say, Theme Park Compared to Roller Coaster as Tacmap Compared to actual Map design

This is a pretty good analogy, but I think you have it wrong.

 

Tacmap = Roller Coaster, while Tourney Sites = Theme Parks.

 

No one is saying "don't have a Tourney site", UF is saying "don't use our Tacmap concept on your site". Whether you like that or not is up to you, and whether that is legal or not I suppose is up to the patent office, or whatnot.

 

Frankly I don't understand why people would have a problem with this, unless you have some vested interest in starting or operating a tacmap tourney site that competes with UF.

There have been & are currently a few sites using TacMap tournaments FYI

Do you guys wanna know why this is getting attention... because it's stepping boundaries, If Shane just wanted to post this here then why go & threaten other companies? Why post on Socom.com? Because Uf is scared... plain & simple... This patent is a waste of time, & a waste of money, It's never going to happen... So I don't know why people are worried about it, Or actually think for 1 second it's possible. This is what is bullshit for someone to do...

Please remove this tournament as soon as possible.

Ok.... well if u wanna know something I've been in the industry for 12 years and im a master tech and manage my own shop so....

Whenever your vehicle temperature get's too high (most likely from low coolant) your vehicle will automatically shut down. or sometimes will just stall from being too hot. either way same result. lol

Big time bummer, That's a lot of housework & landscaping for us that have wives lol....

TNU has maintained a pretty steady flow.. It's been a good time to visit other sites & say hello... Other than that PSN outage is a big loss for s4 if you ask me

I will be playing Socom 4, I have a lot of fun playing it, Except for the downtime's trying to play a clan match or trying to join my fellow friends... but other than that = fun... lol.. maybe you need more fun people to play with cloud?

So far it's 50/50, Some like it alot, others hate it alot, my advice is find a code & play for yourself. Me personally I really like the game & almost all of TNU will be getting it.

Dude come on man, Circle Nine & TNU are both very respected clans, if your starting a new clan & you want to get into the community, let me just say this isn't the best way to do it... Best thing would be is to stop posting this thread & maybe make another one & start over... again good luck on your clan..

I didn't call him out??? I only stated good luck on his new clan & that it would be nice if he had responded to his recruitment application to let us know he was no longer recruiting, would have saved me some work... ??? I don't know why you have to attack me when I was just stating the truth...

they also posted confirmation of the demolition game mode. I still say we won't see it till the first DLC drops, but this is confirmation!

Ok so.... I'm a pretty frequent flyer on http://therealsocom.com & I would have to say that most of them have pretty good opinions about what's going on & what is needed. Now I also have frequent arguments with some of them. But you have to know that a lot of those guys are people that have been banned from socom.com & some of us are posting there opinions on socom.com for them.... being that they can't do it... (sukmyturban) being one of them.. just thought I would jump in & clear it up for ya.
