HTML Link and Host Question

Wondering if you have a HTML that is being hosted somewhere. Inside the HTML were links to another website. If you delete the links I wonder if the host can tell if the link is gone.

 

I have this website and I made up some logos off of this logo making site. And they have an option of using there HTML which made it easy to put onto the website. Well it had there link plus some advertising for there site. I deleted both. So now the link and the advertisement is gone. It is supposed to be against the rules to delete those things. So I'm wondering how would they know? I've done this before and nothing happened. The worst is the logo won't work.
