Deutscher75 Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 Which .NET Frameworks do I need to have for my laptop? It's a 2005 Compaq Presario running Windows XP, I ran Norton System Works earlier and it said I had problems with the .NET Framework both 2.0 and 3.5 because of missing files to the programs and I thought I would just download them again and it would fix the issues. I haven't done it yet, but I wanted to know if I need all the updates including 1.1, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, and 3.5 or do I just need the most current update 3.5 and I can remove the rest? Please help, my notebook has a problem with slow startup, (not associated with too many programs on startup, I monitor and keep my computer running very efficiently), and also a problem with opening programs slow which is generally attributed to problems with the .NET Framework or so that's what I've learned. Any help would great, thanks. Quote
[DC] x_SniperWolf_x Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 You should be fine with just the 3.5 .NET, but if that's not working, it may be because your copy of Windows isn't fully updated. Which service pack do you have on it? And as for a slow start up, it may be because of either really low RAM or a screwed up pagefile, but then again, it could be many more things... Quote
