i was thinking about it

i have had two on my computer recently. one of the torrent websites i used got hacked and a bunch of trojans got there and I happened to get infected.

the ones i had would block sites that you would goto to DL the antivirus program. the program i used was malware bytes. i was able to download the program to remove the virus using a USB thumb drive on my PS3. it recognaized the FILE NAME of the program and did not allow me to open the program. i eventually figured out that i could just change the file name and open it that way.

it slows down your RAM and may even send private data (if you store it) from your computer to the "host'. it can keep track of you browsing history and will then have ads popup based on that history. your computer just runs slow and a lot of sites are blocked. it tried to get me to spend $50 on some fake anti virus program.

if you get one, goto youtube. there is bound to be a video there telling you how to remove the program in question from your PC.

a big pain in the ass. if you are not familiar with computers it can be very bad. it took me like three or fours days to get all this worked out.

there were a lot more ps2s than ps3s, there are more 360's than ps3s.

maybe the fact that there are fewer people playing the game (socom) is the fact that sony is losing the battle to microsoft?

socom has always had more of a cult following. as far as i am concerned COD is more of a mainstream game.

do those COD numbers include the xbox and ps3?

I bet they identified it by the IP address. if they see you always log in from texas and then all of a sudden one day you log in from indonesia and look up credit card info, i am sure that would raise flags.

i have dealt with similar shit at a previous job.

maybe one of those having problems can take a screen shot and put it here and we can take a look.

are they going there from work? a lot of places block sites like this. i have had jobs in the past that blocked part of this site.

maybe a good idea for custom rooms, but not really ideal for public rooms.

Syph1n (on the PS forums) tested all of the weapons against the various armor choices. i made a few graphs to make the data a little easier to view.

a few conclusions to draw here ....

the M14 and AK47 are heavy armor killers.

- at 50 meters, there is really no difference between the AK47 & M14 and the other assault rifles. why would you use another weapon when you would be fighting at that range? i would need a really good reason, and i don't have one.

- at 100 meters, the heavy armor is kinda useless. at that range the only benefit you get is if someone is using an M4 or STG 77 (in the graph there would be a slope going up and to the right on medium to heavy)

- at 50 meters, the heavy provides one extra shot benefit to you, but only against the following assault rifles ... M16, M4, HK36, 552, and STG 77

- i'll take back what i said previously about medium armor and it being completely useless. it is clear from these tests that medium armor is NOT useless.

- damage does by weapons is greatly influenced by range. ie. at 100 meters you need four shots to kill someone with heavy armor using the STG, and at 50 meters you can get the same kill with one less chest shot. range is very important, and the rifle you choose dies impact the gameplay.

need to test some of the special faction weapons (ie SFCLR and FAMAS).
