  1. I LOVE the cover system. I love how you can sprint from cover to cover aka "Cover Swap".

I feel like the number of hits it takes to kill someone is wayyy too high. It takes me at least a full clip to kill someone.

The spawing system isn't very fluid.

I love the grenade arc! Brings back old socom memories.

I have yet to melee someone from behind, idk if that is activated yet.

Overall though I am SUPER excited.

  2. So my server was empty because it had a custom map rotation (an awesome vehicle rotation if you ask me), so I changed it to "Most Popular Maps" rotation and my server filled up in less than 15 minutes. Amazing. You have to do what you can to keep the room full and advertise the clan lol

  3. In the case of BF3, the only huge disadvantage you have when you first start out is with the vehicles. Like anthony said the first guns they give you are some of the better ones and all you have to do is get 10 kills to get a red dot and you are golden.

Im not a big fan of this unlocking crap, given that I am an old school socomer, however that is one of the main reasons I get on and play BF3 is because Im working towards that next unlock in some vehicle or something.

I feel unproductive if I play in the tank all game since I have already unlocked everything for it.

Plus its another way for DICE to make money.

I don't think we will ever get back to the old socom days where you popped in the game for the first time and you could load up your M4 with a front grip and suppressor before you have even killed anyone.

  4. Its our fault too. We buy these games (call of dooty, battlefield, etc) and we buy all their overpriced content. Hell call of duty releases a $60 game with $60 worth of DLC every year. These guys are freaking geniuses. I admit that even I have bought most of the call of dutys (probably never again after MW3) because you feel left out if you don't have it. I have never spent a dime on any CoD DLC though because I was never that into any of them. But I have spent way too much on DLC for other games.

Remember back to SOCOM: CA. They release probably the first ever DLC Map Pack. How much was it? 5 bucks? Its free now.

$120 x 6.5 million copies (just the first 24 hours of it being on sale) = at least $780 million EVERY YEAR

    Nuts.

  5. Haha, Bowling doesn't understand (or chooses to ignore) that the AAA gaming industry publishing model has nothing whatsoever to do with video games. Anyone who believes Activision, EA or Capcom publishes games because they're gamers and love the interactive entertainment experience needs to think again. They're run by businessmen and investors; these are companies that spend large sums of money figuring out how to make large sums of money, it has nothing to do with creative ingenuity, originality or embracing the dynamic art of video game design. They aren't gamers.

This is why we will never get a game we want from a major developer. Its going to have to be from a no name company. One that doesn't just see dollar signs.
