We were honored that Media Molecule was highlighted in the keynote as a kind of apotheosis of this concept (Yay, us!), embracing the desire to deliver something special and truly unique and "wow" in each of our games. We were excited to work with the team to put together this little video for his prezzo, where we discuss our creative process and vision for our games. More...

Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4 ruled PS4, both with and without counting the digital upgrade program. Minecraft blasted immediately to the top of the PS3 charts, the premiere of The Walking Dead's second season had an especially strong debut, and Terraria and Tearaway continue to stimulate the minds of PS Vita creators. So, what's Energy Hook? Well, imagine a 3D swinging games like Spider-Man 2 had a love child with "points-for-style" game SSX. You swing from rooftop to rooftop, pull off mid-air tricks, run along walls, and rack up points and energy for doing it. Because: it’s the future. And that’s what the extreme sports of the future look like. You have gravity beams and gravity boots and jetpacks and can do awesome stuff. More...

We've finally finished OlliOlli, and what's even better, we now have a release date: January 21st! As you may know, this our first PS Vita game, so it's been a big challenge for us - a challenge that's been well worth it (and we hope you'll think so, too). We originally planned to launch before the holiday, but due to some technical issues we had to push back. We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who patiently supported us throughout 2013, including fans, press, and all the crew at PlayStation - especially Shahid and Spencer. More...

Since time immemorial, light and dark have waged war -- each side bolstered by heroes and fiends of immense station. In the Castlevania series, the Belmont family has long fought the forces of evil and sought out the end of Dracula by any means necessary. More...

It works! That’s the biggest compliment you could pay the newly revealed PlayStation Now game streaming service formally unveiled at CES 2014. Set to roll out this summer on PS3 and PS4 -- followed by PS Vita and an array of internet connected devices such as 2014 BRAVIA TVs -- PS Now will enable users to stream a library of PS3 titles in real time over the internet. The world of Road Not Taken is made up of magical and natural surroundings. That makes me happy, because even though I love the bleeps and bloops you can get from synthesis, my favorite way to make sounds is from scratch like a foley artist. More...

It’s officially 2014, and if you checked out our preview post and video last month you’ll know that means mega awesome titles are coming soon! Tomorrow our Plus members will be able to download both Don’t Starve on PlayStation 4 and DMC Devil May Cry on PlayStation 3. Don’t Starve is deceptively cute, so don’t be fooled, this is a hardcore survival simulator. You (as a Gentleman Scientist) will need to gather, hunt and build in order to stay alive in this mysterious land. More...

There’s a whole new year of amazing music on the horizon, and VidZone is here to help you decide whom to keep your eye on in 2014 with our Ones To Watch of the year. Plus we’ve also been hard at work crunching the numbers and tallying the scores to see who has topped the chart in our Most Watched Videos of 2013 countdown and who has been crowned our Artist of the Year. When a small team of seven -- five guys and two pretty amazing gals -- set up to create Contrast in a small solarium a few years ago, we didn't think we'd be launching on a brand new console, across several continents, or get as much attention as we did. 2013 was as exhausting as it was rewarding. Season's greetings from Japan. 2013 has been a very busy year for Japan Studio. We launched four titles this year, including my own Puppeteer. So we're all looking forward to a few well-deserved days off. Although you might be surprised to hear that, here in Japan, we don't get Christmas off. The 25th of December is just a normal working day. More...

Let’s face it, you probably have some time to kill before New Year’s Eve. Starting tomorrow Urban Trial Freestyle is free for PlayStation Plus members, so download it on your PS Vita before heading out to celebrate. If you find yourself in a boring conversation, excuse yourself to the restroom and mess around with some bike trials where you’ll attempt to pull off tricks like backflips, ollies and 360s. For those with a more competitive streak, you can challenge other riders with Ghost Mode. As addictive as Urban Trial Freestyle is, try not to spend the entire party in the bathroom. That can give the wrong impression. More...

As perhaps you can imagine, it’s been an incredibly busy year here at PlayStation. Duly, just before everyone signed off for a few days of well-earned festive respite, I spoke to a number of key figures from SCEE, Sony Worldwide Studios and our partners in the indie world, to find out what their highlights of the past 12 months were, and what they have planned for 2014. January’s Instant Game Collection will offer PlayStation Plus members loads of amazing titles, starting off with a new PlayStation 4 title — Don’t Starve. 2013 has been a year worth celebrating for the gaming industry, and for us at XSEED as well. A mere two weeks in, we got our year started less with a bang and more with a meaty squish as Corpse Party: Book of Shadows scared its way onto the North American PlayStation Store. More...
