And it's situations like this that Anti 2nd Amendment groups love to see. It fuels their argument. We can show all day that a bad guy was killed by an armed citizen exercising his 2nd Amendment rights but they win in the end because of this guys bone head emotional reaction.

If you're going to carry a gun for protection, legally, take more than the necessary classes to learn when, where, and how to carry it. Learn when to use it. Learn when not to use it. And know the consequences for using it illegally. I don't want to see the 2nd Amendment get destroyed because of idiots like this.

The 2nd Amendment will get destroyed because of the idiots walking into stores, pointing guns at people, and trying to rob them. THAT is the problem.

Anti 2nd Amendment groups will NEVER win the argument based on situations like this where an armed citizen has killed a bad guy because even if guns were outlawed, "bad guys" would still have them! That argument is completely illogical! Do you think that armed robber obtained that gun legally? Do you think it was a registered hand gun? Obviously not. (BTW, I'm not griping AT you, I'm griping TO you. I know I'm preaching to the choir. Stuff like this just gets my blood to boiling! We are so backwards on some things!)

I'm less concerned about Anti 2nd Amendment groups and more concerned about a justice system that jails a man who shot and killed a thug that WILLINGLY put himself into a situation where SOMEONE was most likely going to get hurt. I think situations like this should be used as an example to criminals that if you choose to commit a crime like this and you are hurt in the process, that is just the consequence of your actions and maybe next time you'll reconsider. Jail obviously isn't a deterrent, so maybe death would be.

I completely agree with you Hippie. About the system that is, it completely sucks. But that's the system we have, and we cannot have citizens take the law into their own hands because the system sucks.

Could you imagine what kind of country this would be if ordinary citizens were allowed to execute justice whenever they feel like it? And that's what happened here. It wasn't about safety, it was completely about revenge and anger.

Like BD said, without the camera, the guy walks. But the camera doesn't lie. And he deserves to go to prison.

Ya a system where people would behave and treat each other with respect for fear of having "justice" levied on them. I could see where that would suck.

A buddy I work with has this novel idea where everyone is allowed one murder. The idea being that one would be inclined to be nicer for fear of being someones murder. Or that the family or friends of the person you used yours on would use theirs on you.

I share your frustration Hippie. I hear it all the time. Imagine the frustration from arresting the same person over and over again because he keeps walking on technicalities allowed by laws created and passed by politicians we law abiding citizens hired. Talk about getting your blood boiling.

Like Irish said, it's the only system we have. Taking the law into our own hands isn't the way to change things.
