Here's why:

 

Sony has announced that it will release the first 3D games for PS3 including WipEout HD, SuperStardustHD, PAIN, plus a single level demo of MotorStorm: Pacific Rift tomorrow, June 10, thanks to the PSN update that occurred today with 3D support.

 

Titles are to be made available for just $29.99/€29.99/£23.99, and will also be made available for free as part of the Sony Bravia 3D TV package.

 

* WipEout HD in 3D does not include the Fury DLC,

 

* PAIN includes two new modes created specifically for 3D called Alien Toss and Ice Blocks which is free with the TV pack, or individually for €2.99.

 

* SuperStardust HD in 3D promises to “transport you into a spectacular space settingâ€

 

* MotorStorm 3D Pacific Rift Demo includes the single player race around the Kanaloa Bay

 

“PlayStation has always been about outstanding entertainment,†said SCEE president Andrew House. “The stereoscopic 3D Collection showcases the depth of technology behind PS3 and gives us a feel for the potential for future releases.

 

“Stereoscopic 3D technology coupled with the likes of PlayStation Move motion controller allows us to create an ever more compelling, realistic and immersive experience. Add to that our online capabilities, community interaction features, our film and music services and you’ve got a very exciting proposition for the future of home entertainment.â€

 

Those who already own the games can upgrade their games to stereoscopic 3D via a free patch.

Sucks the PSN is down, but hey I'm without PS3 and doesn't really effect me.

 

As for 3D, I've caught myself trying to peak around corners while sitting in my chair so a game in 3D could only screw me up even more.
