Halo 3 fans now have three new places to kill each other, as the long-awaited Mythic Map Pack makes its way onto the Xbox Live Marketplace.

 

The Xbox Live Marketplace flavor text is simply exquisite this time around, really evoking the atmosphere of these three new maps for Halo 3. If the flavor text doesn't sell you, the fact that everyone else will have these and you won't be able to play with them probably will.

 

The long-awaited Mythic Map Pack drops into Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Investigate Orbital's abandoned hallways - before it was evacuated, the Quito Space Tether was heralded as the "Civil Engineering Monument of the Millennium." Witness Assembly, where Scarab hulls loom overhead, being decontaminated in preparation for the city-sized Lekgolo colonies that will breathe life into the massive metal husks. An excavation site surrounded by deadly Forerunner defenses, the mysteries of Sandbox are hidden high above, deep below, and right before your eyes.

 

The Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack is available now for 800 Microsoft points, just in time for Easter.

 

* Assembly: Named for the Covenant Scarab being constructed overhead, this map is perfect for mid-size Slayer and Team Slayer battles. It also supports objective game-types.

* Orbital: This is the first map in Halo 3 to be set in outer space, specifically an orbital elevator above earth. It has two overlapping "U" shaped corridors and switches that give access to hard-to-reach areas.

* Sandbox: Bungie calls it the ultimate Forge map. It supports every item in the Forge, and even gives you some new toys to play with, including a golf club, golf ball and tin cup, in case you want to hit the links. As for the map itself, it's really a huge empty area split into two maps: A "Sky Bubble" you can use to create maps like Guardian and Ascension, and The Crypt. The Crypt is a fully-enclosed arena for creating games like Grifball.

Its actually tempting.. part of the map pack is a sand box for you to create a map however you want.!!

But it is only used in multiplayer, & i hate Halo multiplayer.. lol (unless its all just friends)
