  1. Confirmed New Game Modes & New Community Playlist

    Call of Duty Community

Yesterday evening Robert Bowling tweeted about the update the fans, especially the Hardcore fans were waiting for. Today, December 16th, Modern Warfare 3 will receive an update to the playlists that are currently available.

The first big change with the update will the addition of Community Playlists. In the Community Playlists you will find popular and unique private match modes. Since the Community Playlists are available to everyone, they will be publicly available and you will rank up on them. The Community Playlists will introduce 3 new game modes to the public.

The second big change are the new games modes that’ll become available. As Expected, the Hardcore Ricochet and Hardcore HQ Ricochet game mods will be added to the game. The third new game mode will be Drop Zone.

For those not familiar with the game modes:

Drop Zone: Get to the drop zone to earn points, the first team to 7,500 points wins the round, but that’s not all. As long as the Drop Zone is occupied, a care package will drop every 15 seconds, which ever team has the most members in the drop zone at that point “owns: the care package, but anyone can steal it. This is the only way to earn air support in this mode, all other pointstreaks are disabled. You’ll earn 20 points per team member, for every second they’re in the drop zone plus 20 XP individually for your time spent in the zone. Kills are worth 50 XP in this mode.

Custom Settings: Pointstreaks (besides those obtained through in-game care packages) are disabled.

Hardcore HQ Ricochet: We’ll be adding Hardcore Headquarters to the Hardcore Team Tactical playlist.

Hardcore Ricochet: We’ll be converting all Hardcore modes to Ricochet variant as a response to team killing. This means, any friendly fire, is applied to the attacker, rather than the victim. So choose your shots wisely and any attempt to team kill will simply kill yourself.

Personally, I think it’s a great move by Infinity Ward / Sledgehammer Games to give the community the opportunity to add to the game and in turn add give every Modern Warfare 3 player more variety.

  2. Ive been doing that too, but i only raised 6 hrs of 2xp so far. I can only eat so much Doritoes and drink so much Dew.

Plus switching between MW3, B3, & Uncharted 3 tends to cut my play time on the one game down a bit.

  3. Today Activision released the official trailer (called “Play Together Betterâ€) for their Call of Duty exclusive Social Network / stat-tracking service, Call of Duty Elite.

If Call of Duty Elite isn’t something for you, the least you can do is just sign up with a free account and receive 2 hours of double XP in Modern Warfare 3 at no cost.

  4. 1.04:

Hot fix to take care of the bug which allows people to go under the map on Outpost. (see tweet)

Hot fix for the bug which allows people to call in an unlimited amount of Stealth Bombers. Anyone caught abusing this bug will be banned by the way. (see tweet)

    1.05:

"Stat Loss prevention will be addressed in the next update (this week). I apologize, I know its a frustrating thing to have happen" - fourzerotwo

That's all I found about it so far. I hope they fix the dive to prone problem soon.

  5. They had fixed it in the previous versions of the game, but decided not to add the fix with this one?

The tanker on outpost just sounds like the rock you could crawl into and be invulnerable on that desert map, (I forget the name), in MW2. Did they ever fix that one?

  6. When you make a kill do you have to confirm the kill to get the credit? I've been watching people play online and am confused about that.

It's a game mode that you can play and in it when you kill someone, you or your team has to pick up the dog tags to get the kill to count. The other team can get the dog tags also and that kill won't count for your team score.
