We will do some smaller events, stay tuned for that... these are our main events for 2010. You will also find that Horsemen was not included as it was cancelled once again due to lack of participation.

Can we get an idea of when these "smaller events" will begin?

  2. It's been rather quiet around here the last few weeks and I wanted to find out what clans are still focusing on Socom? TOU has been trying to frequent US Central in the hope that we would run into more UF clans but that hasn't been happening. Would any of you like to coordinate some PT so we can all run together?

  3. MarauderHD ]

    What? No!

We fill a server no problem in Socom.

Just imagine all of our clans in there fighting together... It's going to be Epic!

How do you propose to do this when the game lacks the functionality to achieve it. Make sure to read exactly what his quote states. I was in the closed beta and I have a thread dedicated to this topic where the developer has responded. If they do decide to add expand on the 8 player parties it will not be for months down the road.

  4. ho99style ]

im going to say that this game has some awesome potential and even if they were later able to implement the feature to create a platoon size party or even larger " say a company " would only stand to mean more FUN... if they succeed and do pull off some serious features, i believe that it will truly usher in a whole new game designings from devs..imho

256 is a gimmick if you can only put together an 8 player party.

  5.

That is what I was afraid of, they did not say they will have it. The thread you linked does not include his exact quote:

Ben Jones of Zipper said, "That is something that we really do want to support. It's very much on the table for the future but I don't think that will come out directly at launch but hopefully in the months after and down the road we can look at options like that".

If that is what you were talking about, I would not get my hopes up too high.

I've since have read that your going to be able to link groups together to make sure your in the same battle. Whether or not you can fight against I'm not sure. But you will for sure be able to battle with each others clan. Or even like if you have Platoons or squads in your clan. If this is all true this is going to change everything we know.

Zipper started this clan thing and now we'll get to do this with our clans. But I'm getting my info off of the MAG forums so who really knows if it's true. But lots of people are saying that this is so and that it comes from Zipper.

Can you link me to where you read this?

They are posted in the clan rep section for the boot camp members

Is there anyway for a clan that is interested in the event to see what those parameters are before submitting an application?

    Shane ]

Boot Camp is not a public event is is the evaluation process for new clans that wish to join Urgent Fury.

So you have to sign up for bootcamp, then just back out if you dont like the settings.!?

I know backing out never looks good for a clan, but unfortunately that seems the best way to "get a feel" Covert. Bring TOU in & go thru the process, if you dont like it, you dont need to sign up for any tournaments. but (once you pass) at least you will be cleared & able to join any tournaments down the road.

Hold on, are you saying that TOU has to go through Boot Camp to be eligible for MW2 events? I thought that TOU was good to go since we voluntarily went through Hell Week in September of this year.

  8. Shane ]

Ok guys lets stop the lynch party already... I think the point has been made clear..

We do not reveal settings of future tournaments until we post the rules, we we be posting the next Tournament Rule set soon... so kick back and relax...

There are a handful of Members Staff and Rangers that see the rules, but they understand that there is no leaking info out, especially since there are sites out there that would like to use our rules for their sites. :police:

Are the Bootcamp match parameters posted anywhere? I've been looking for them for weeks and have been unable to find the thread. One of the UF staff members posted a bunch of links but none of those give match parameters for Bootcamp. Or is it that these are only viewable by clans already enrolled in Bootcamp?

You might want to check the rule sets for the tournies being offered in MW2. We do use our own settings for matches, but most of the parameters are pretty similar to what you have posted. They do vary from tournament to tournament, for a little change-up.

EDIT: There have always been, and always will be tournies without ranged weapons here.

Are they posted somewhere everyone can see them? Because I was looking about a week ago and I couldn't find anything posted anywhere. Care to shoot me a link?

Well the only ones going on right now are YEBO, and Bootcamp. So I suppose those are the ones I was referring to. :-X ;)

Are the Bootcamp settings posted anywhere? I checked that area and could not find them.

NO there was OTHER ways for the POW's to free themselves.

The Prisoner's could try to 'escape', but they were required to get together and plan it (in other words, a bunch of dudes from different clans.....) and I think they could only use pistols..? while the captors could only send X number of guys against them, ALL the POW's could war, and USUALLY POW's consisted of the top gunners, so it was a very intriguing concept.

That doesn't sound too horrible, as long as there is balance there. I just don't like having an event that hurts teams of skill with gimmicks.

  12. Xx-CHURCHY-xX ]

PoW was UF4. It consisted of the same elements as every other tacmap, however, if a clan was swept during a war (meaning 3-0, 6-0, etc.), the winning clan was able to take one or two of the losing clans players and put them in a PoW camp (pending they HAD a camp as a territory). By putting them in a camp, they were essentially knocked out of the tournament, unless the territory was captured by another, which let the NEW owning clan make a choice of who they would want to free from the camp.

    In simple terms:

    Team A vs. Team B

    B wins 6-0.

B takes PLAYER and puts them in Camp.

PLAYER is ineligible to play for the remainder of the tacmap.

Team C takes Camp from Team B.

Team C chooses if they want to free PLAYER or not. (Usually not)

It was a good concept... at first. I was taken POW the first match in the first week of the entire tournament. I was never freed.

You didn't get to play in one more match the entire tacmap!? If so that is ridiculous.

    i dont know...

There is supposadly a aimbot for the ps3 mw2

    look here..:

Modern Warfare 2 aimbot hack (how to get it) UNPACTCHED!

    supposadly a aimbot for ps3

That cannot be for the PS3, first off when the word "reload" comes up it doesn't have the PS3 button blinking on the screen. And second when he get's a killstreak it doesn't blink on the lower right hand corner as it does on the PS3 version.

  14. WiZ ]

Its called "red dotting". Its what ruined Rainbow 6.

That is impossible, we would see it on his tv screen. That video is NOT on a capture card, it's actual video footage from the room he is in, unless he some how doctored the video and removed the "red dot" from the footage.

  15. John ]

I'm going to toss a few things out here.

First, no one was ejected for speaking their mind. Hell, look at the majority of TNU membership's posts in the past three days. If that was the fact, they would have been banned.

Second, its costs a crapload to put together any new content on this site. Here is a fun fact: if we were to do everything we want to do in the year 2010 for all of you, it would cost $225,000. Thats right folks, our 'dream' operating budget for 2010 could cost upwards of $200k. Right now, we are going with a more reasonable operating budget of $60,000. So, are the ads really that much of a problem?

I'll be the first to say we have NO ISSUE with teams playing in multiple communities. If you can do it, I admire you, because Urgent Fury competitions can really put some stress on teams.

I'll rehash this again, since it still seems missed by some people. TNU was ejected for 2 reasons. First, one leader was piloting the return of a site known for stealing rulesets and ideas from Urgent Fury. This other site, mind you, was laid out differently and not so innocently as it now seems until we went public with the Urgent Fury community. And second, another leader was attempting to farm clans to that site. Its as simple as that.

I'm with you until we get to the part I highlighted in red. CT was a joke and is a joke, UF and the admins had nothing to worry about whatsoever. It's like the United States being fearful of an impoverished nation when everyone knows that without any effort they could be annihilated from the face of the earth. However, as the admins of Urgent Fury you are the Law and you are Enforcers of said "laws" within this community. Which means that you CAN make whatever decisions you so wish, the consequences of those decisions will be the proof of how good they actually were. The issue here is that if anyone uses brute force as a means of resolution they must be 100% certain that said action was absolutely necessary. Otherwise it will not stand up to public scrutiny and I believe that is the problem that we're all seeing before us now.

Up until now I have not said where I stand(although I'm sure some could deduce that) other than to a UF admin that solicited me this week. In my opinion no TEAM should be ejected from an event that is underway UNLESS they break a rule that applies to that specific event. If someone within that TEAM was to break a "community" rule they should be dealt with on an individual basis. But to eject an entire team during an event for something unrelated to that event will almost certainly always be met with uprising. Furthermore, it taints the entire event, the winners and the administration. Once the event is completed if it is deemed necessary the admins should have a discussion with the leaders of said TEAM and if things cannot be resolved then make the tough decision. What this does is avoid tainting an entire event, it avoids the portrayal of admins that are on the warpath and/or possibly making decisions because their own clan could benefit from said decisions.(I believe this should be a rule in UF, posted for all to see and to be upheld by the admins)

To be clear I am not a moderate, I DO NOT make compromises and so I would never advise someone to do anything even close to that. However, I do believe in practical decisions, rationale and facts when trying to solve problems. There was a better way to handle this, what will distinguish the current UF administration from the previous is whether or not they will understand and learn from the events that transpired.
