2. Arriving exclusively for Gran Turismo 5 this Tuesday, the 2014 Corvette Stingray DLC will be available for free through PlayStation Store. Officially announced at the LA Auto Show last November, Polyphony Digital and Chevrolet worked very closely for months in developing an exclusive firsthand driving experience of the Corvette C7 in Gran Turismo 5. Since its introduction, nearly 500,000 people around the world have driven the camouflaged Corvette Test Prototype. And now, only just the day after the Corvette Stingray's world debut at the North American International Auto Show, the DLC will be available exclusively through PS Store starting Tuesday. More...
 3. DmC reinvents Capcom's classic action franchise to explore new frontiers with the series. The "Devil May Cry DNA" of stylish action, rewarding combat and a brash, smart-talking protagonist all remains; however, it has now injected with a dark and brutal gameplay that promises to redefine the franchise. BioShock Ultimate Rapture Edition combines BioShock and BioShock 2 along with new Plasmids and Gene Tonics for the original BioShock, plus the Sinclair Solutions Tester pack, Rapture Metro Pack, The Protector Trials, and Minerva's Den expansions for BioShock 2. Enjoy this week The Drop. More...
 4. I finally wrapped up The Walking Dead this week... What a game. There are a couple others I'd put ahead of it for Game of the Year (Journey, Persona 4 Golden), but I understand why it's been taking top honors in so many different places. With that out of the way, I'm moving on to another well-respected title from last year -- XCOM: Enemy Unknown. I'm about eight hours in, and I honestly can't tell whether I'm enjoying it or not. It's incredibly stressful, but I think the fact that I played it nearly nonstop yesterday says something about its particular brand of stress. This week on PlayStation.Blog, we introduced Haunt the House (coming soon to PlayStation Mobile), the Battle Hardened DLC came to Assassin's Creed III, fans voted for their favorite athlete to grace the cover of MLB 13 The Show, and plenty more. 5. Now it’s time to say goodbye to all our company…wait. No. This isn’t the Mickey Mouse Club. In all seriousness, this is the final iteration of our PSN Community Spotlight. For the unfamiliar, this is where PlayStation gamers would tell their unique stories/experiences/thoughts, as submitted to this section in the PlayStation Community Forums. Those that made it all the way to the PlayStation Blog receive a $50 PlayStation Store voucher via private message on the forums. After this ends, we’ll be putting out a new community-centric post, so keep an eye out for it! Last week we asked for your PlayStation stories, and gamer Winscar_Shinobi wrote in to tell us about how he met the love of his life through the PlayStation Network. 6. If you’ve been participating in our God of War: Ascension Multiplayer Beta, we hope you are fulfilling your destiny and ascending as a Champion of Olympus. Our development team greatly appreciates your efforts, and is watching your every move. Your rise truly begins on March 12th, when God of War: Ascension arrives in stores. Here at Sony Santa Monica, with this being the first time we are bringing multiplayer to the God of War franchise, we knew creating an epic multiplayer mode worthy of standing next to our treasured single-player campaign (more on that coming soon) could qualify as the “13th Labor of Hercules.†Your feedback, participation, and excitement for the Ascension Multiplayer Beta is met with the utmost gratification, and gives us the extra push needed to drive this home for you, our fans. 7. Hello again! It feels great to be back on PS.Blog -- especially now that we’re able to reveal a project that so many people have asked for: a native PS Vita version of our multiple award-winning PS minis game Velocity! It’s called Velocity Ultra, and it features Trophies, online high scores and a completely overhauled visual style at native PS Vita resolution. We’re reworking all the art in the game, so the cut scene stills have been recreated at a much higher standard than before. We’re also unifying the art style throughout the game by ditching pixel art in favor of the edgy cartoon style. The dinky (and rather pathetic) Quarp Jet now looks less dinky (and rather bad-ass)... We’re also adding lots of visual effects. Here’s what Velocity Ultra looks like at the moment. Note that the graphics look considerably cleaner when running live on PS Vita’s screen. More...
 8. This past week has been a whirlwind for MLB 13 The Show. We kicked off our first-ever cover contest on Monday and the response has been overwhelming. So far, over 300,000 votes have been cast in the cover showdown, and over 750,000 total tweets from fans have been sent in support of their athlete. Don’t forget, you have until 5:00pm PST Friday, January 11th to cast a vote. Voting takes place at mlb.com/covervote, where you can send a tweet or make a Facebook post in support of your favorite player. You can also vote directly from twitter, just by including an athlete's unique hashtag in any tweet. All seven of the cover candidates have been getting the word out about why you should vote for them on their social platforms. More...

On today's very special episode of PlayStation Blogcast, we discuss the first alarmingly big release week of the year between dMc and a certain long-awaited club that PS Vita owners can shortly be members of. 11. Back in April, we unveiled a host of new applications coming to PS Vita, including Wake-up Club, a new interactive way to start your day with other PS Vita owners. Next Tuesday, the application will be available to download for free on the PS Vita PlayStation Store in North America! Let’s face it: getting up in the morning isn’t something we usually look forward to, but Wake-up Club adds some social fun into the mix to make getting out of bed more bearable. In addition to adding alarm clock functionality to PS Vita for the first time, including the ability to personalize your alarm tone and background theme, Wake-up Club matches 12 randomly selected players who set their alarm clock at the same time into a—you guessed it—wake-up club! 12. Great news hockey fans: the NHL lockout seems to have been resolved! To get you back into the skating and ice-based brawling spirit, we’re pleased to present Table Ice Hockey -- exclusively for PlayStation Vita. We’ve aimed for an easy-to-play arcade feel that anyone can pick up and get into, coupled with a great visual look. Play against the computer in Solo mode, or in a 16-team international tournament to take on the very best in the world. Alternatively, challenge your friends and play ad-hoc multiplayer on two PS Vitas, for that ultimate clash of sticks feel. Spend time in the locker room editing your team’s kits, names, numbers, logos and player names to create your very own team to take on friends, family and those tournament bruisers. And speaking of bruising, Ice Hockey wouldn’t be Ice Hockey without some knuckle shredding, tooth loosening punch-ups and Table Ice Hockey sees plenty of those as teams use tactics fair and foul to win. 13. The SIREN project started in the autumn months of the new 21st century. I was very fortunate to have been surrounded by a very talented team of people on my team. Together with Game Director Keiichiro Toyama, Scenario Writer Naoko Sato, and Art Director Isao Takahashi, I sat down to discuss concepts. We then extended the discussions to excellent creators both internally and externally for a collaborative production effort. We were on a mission to formulate a form of fear or horror that would resonate with an audience regardless of their cultural background, and to deliver that from a very intentionally Japanese perspective. Thorough studies sprung our inspirations, which then became our core for producing SIREN. No room for compromise, but plenty of room for the sense of playful creativity, we progressed to develop a Japanese Modern Horror that could reach out and be appreciated by the world. More...

Available on PSN for $9.99, It adds three new maps and three new characters to the sneaky -- yet brutal -- multiplayer, and introduces a little extra variety to your Animus-simulated mayhem. 15. 18. Hey everyone! SFB Games is comprised of two brothers, Adam and Tom Vian from London. We've been making games for many years (mostly for browsers, under the name "The Super Flash Bros.") and this is our first opportunity to make a game that can be enjoyed on a real handheld console. When we heard about PlayStation Mobile and thought about PS Vita as a platform, there was only one game we had in mind. The colourful graphics and simple controls of Haunt the House work perfectly in this context -- it's a really natural fit. The original Haunt the House was a browser game we made for Halloween back in 2010, and since then we’ve come a long way as designers. The basic idea of Haunt the House: you float around as a ghost, possessing any objects you see and use them to perform spooky haunting actions to any humans who are nearby! The aim of the game is to scare every single human away from the town, but this game also has an extra objective... More...

It’s been a long journey getting this game to you guys, so it seemed prudent to give you all a bit more information about it. After all, an appetite for blood and dismay is at its best when thoroughly whetted... And since each chapter in Corpse Party: Book of Shadows tells its own standalone story, I thought the best way to make you salivate even more would be to give a brief, spoiler-free introduction to each one. So without further ado, here’s a taste of what’s in store for you when you fire up your PSP (or PS Vita) next week. More...
