1. I wanted to give the PlayStation Nation the inside scoop on some cool things we have coming up for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 this week. Starting on Tuesday, November 13th, we will be offering Tekken Tag Tournament 2 as a download on PlayStation Store for $49.99. For those of you doing the math right now, that’s $10 cheaper than a Blu-ray copy of the game. And for those of you who have not purchased the game yet and are looking for another excuse to download or grab a copy, we will be releasing the final timed character roster update this week as well! BOOM! HYPE! WISDOM! Monday night we’ll unleash the final Tekken fighters from their cages and let them loose on the internet for our dedicated fans. The new unlocked characters for feature three returning favorites: Dr. Boskonovitch, Unknown and Violet. It’s been a while since players have been able to get their hands on these characters and play as them themselves, with Dr. B last playable in Tekken 3, Unknown last playable in the original Tekken Tag Tournament and Violet in Tekken 4. It’s been a long time, but we think it has been worth the wait when you see the changes the team has made to the new characters. These guys are absolute beasts in the ring with new move sets since the last time we’ve seen them. More...

As well as Special Strike Force missions, in which the players action affect the outcome of gameplay and the overall campaign, and of course a killer variety of multiplayer modes and play options.

On PS Vita and on PSN as a digital download, bridging the storyline between the original Call of Duty: Black Ops and this year's highly anticipated follow-up, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified explores original fiction in the series, told through a collection of single player operations. The PS Vita exclusive title, brings classic Call of Duty-style gameplay to gamers on-the-go, offering a console gaming experience anytime, anywhere. 3. What a week, huh? As if Tuesday's US presidential election wasn't enough excitement for you, Friday <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/11/09/so-today-is-my-last-day-at-playstation/'>http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/11/09/so-today-is-my-last-day-at-playstation/">we learned that our friend and comrade Jeff Rubenstein is moving on to a new adventure outside the walls of PlayStation. If the news made your heart skip a beat, I don't blame you -- Jeff's leadership, passion, and dedication to gamers is the stuff of legend, both inside the games industry and out. On a personal level, I will miss the guy terribly every time I sit down to record a new episode of <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/11/09/playstation-blogcast-50-sportsfriends-forever/'>http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/11/09/playstation-blogcast-50-sportsfriends-forever/">PlayStation Blogcast or eat a bowl of steaming stewed pork from Santa Ramen (best in the South Bay!). We're hugely proud of Jeff and we wish him the absolute best as he embarks on his new journey. But life will go on, as it always does. In the midst of any significant transition, it's natural to feel a little anxiety, a little trepidation. If you're like me, you're probably chewing on some questions, starting with that big scary one: how is PlayStation.Blog going to change? The answer to that question is simple: it won't. Over the past five years, Jeff's leadership helped forge a stronger, better-informed community of passionate PlayStation gamers through the insider information published on PlayStation.Blog, and that good work will continue here as strong or stronger than ever. Sure, we might make a few minor nips and tucks in the name of better user experience -- we're considering combining the weekend Recap and What We Read posts into one more comprehensive post, for instance. What do you think? More...
 4. According to all the stores, it’s time to get in the holiday spirit! Coincidentally, it’s also time for the PSN Community Spotlight. For the unfamiliar, this is where PlayStation gamers tell their unique stories/experiences/thoughts, as submitted to this section in the PlayStation Community Forums. Those that make it all the way to the PlayStation Blog will receive a $50 PlayStation Store voucher. Last week we asked for your PlayStation stories, and gamer saionji1229 wrote in to tell us about his best friend (no, I don’t mean the PS3). 5. After five years, 5,995 blog posts, and 10,888 Tweets, today is my final day at PlayStation. We’ve accomplished a lot together: we’ve built PlayStation.Blog into one of the most influential blogs in the world, amassed the largest Twitter following in the industry and the 8th most fans in the world on Facebook (watch out McDonalds!). I mention these stats not to brag, but because I continue to be amazed at the enduring strength of the PlayStation brand and its fervent fans, whom I’ve been lucky to serve as Social Media Dudebro since 2007. PlayStation, specifically SCEA, has been very good to me. I’ve been sent to gamescom, Tokyo Game Show, PAXes East and Prime, Comic-Con, and E3 many times over. I’ve gotten to personally put PS Vitas into fans’ hands for the first time at Social Club events. I’ve gotten to share exciting news, first looks, and big reveals with you, then relay your feedback to the teams that created them. Keep telling us what you think; it really does count! More...

 7. Becoming a Champion of the Gods in our new God of War: Ascension multiplayer mode requires a Warrior's knowledge of the strengths, weapons, armor, and magic of the God they align with, knowing the depths of your strategic options, and executing them on the battlefield. Don’t expect to just hack and slash your opponents. You've had a taste of what the Warriors of Zeus are capable of, but now it’s time to divert your attention, and consider aligning with the God of War himself. If sheer offensive strength is your preferred style of play, harness the ferocious might of Ares! We debuted his trailer last night on SPIKE TV, if you missed it, then don’t miss it now. More...

November is quickly becoming the month of Gran Turismo as we celebrate two key milestones for the franchise – the 10th Annual GT Awards, and securing a place in the top 15 best-selling video game franchises of all time, as the series has now topped 67.8 million copies shipped. The 10th Annual GT Awards was hosted at the SEMA (Speciality Equipment Market Association) show in Las Vegas, with a headlining performance by hip hop icon Snoop Dogg (AKA Snoop Lion). The judging process started with Kazunori Yamauchi, CEO of Polyphony Digital visiting all of the individual category winners, including... More...

 11. David Vanderhaar gave a straight up two-hour show of Black Ops 2 multiplayer today on IGN Live. We have included it below or you can watch it on IGN’s Site. One of the many things we have taken from this is at one point he really drills down into the options for custom game set up. Here at Urgent Fury we will be able to customize the game in many ways, this will give us the ability to offer a variety of leagues and ladders. Be sure you start getting your teams together as we have Aftermath right around the corner as well as some live events starting as soon as December 1st. Treyarch really has put the eSports initiative to the test with Black Ops 2, and this is a major benefit for Urgent Fury and the thousands of other tournament communities out there. We will not only offer events, but we will also take advantage of the new COD Casting system to offer live footage of tournament matches like we have been with Starhawk. Look for several offerings for Black Ops from Urgent Fury and see you on the battlefield. View the full article
 12. Greetings PlayStation peoples! I’m Doug Wilson, producer of Sportsfriends, a compendium of indie multiplayer games that we’re bringing to PSN in 2013. And you can pre-order it on Kickstarter right now! Sportsfriends is more than just a game – it’s four games! The games have already been prototyped, and we’ve exhibited them at parties, arcades, and special events around the world. A lot of people have been clamoring for us to bring these games to market, and now we can finally announce our lineup: First up is my own no-graphics physical game, Johann Sebastian Joust. The game is basically a face-to-face sword fight, set to music. It uses the PlayStation Move controller, and supports up to seven players! More...
 13. Stretching back from my roots as a tournament player to my current gig as lead game designer for Sony's Santa Monica Studio, I've spent over two decades in fighting games, and have been thrilled to revisit so many great memories from my own PlayStation history with the characters and stages of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Last month’s top PS Vita seller, Retro City Rampage pays tribute to games from days gone by, while adopting the open-world gameplay of modern day titles. Crafted by a small team led by Brian Provinciano, the game features an 8-bit art style, complete with amazing chiptunes. Honorable mentions go to a number of the Day 1 Digital games. Dishonored, NBA 2K13,Resident Evil 6, Doom 3 BFG Edition, and Assassin’s Creed 3 (not to mention a great performance by Assassin’s Creed III Liberation on PS Vita) all debuted in fine form. 15. Next February sees the release of the third main entry in EA’s critically lauded sci-fi survival horror series, Dead Space. While the first two games followed very similar templates, the latest installment really mixes things up by introducing full co-op play to the main campaign. The optional drop-in, drop-out multiplayer lets a second player join in the story as new character Sergeant John Carver. While the game is fully playable as a solo experience, if you play with friend you’ll have an expanded story and get to experience a number of extra sequences and set-pieces. We sat down with the game’s producer Steve Papoutsis to find out how – and why – developer Visceral Games has implemented this new system and what fans of the series can expect from reluctant hero Isaac Clarke’s latest adventure. PlayStation.Blog: What goals did you set yourself when you first started work on Dead Space 3? Steve Papoutsis, Producer of Dead Space 3: When we started work on Dead Space 3 we set a couple of things in front of the team. More...

It’s been a long road for the team getting their first game out on both PS3 and PS Vita at the same time but they’ve done it without a hitch! We’d like to take the opportunity now to thank everyone who’s taken the time to support us during development, played the game at local events and tweeted nice things about us. We hope you all love the finished product and continue to feed back to us any comments you might have. 17. Late last month marked the birthday of the LittleBigPlanet franchise, and what better way to celebrate than releasing a new game? LittleBigPlanet Karting is now available on the PlayStation Store, and you can pick up the free Birthday Cake and Space Suit costumes this week as tokens of appreciation. Critically acclaimed Portal 2 and Vanquish round out the Full Game downloads on the Store this week. Portal 2’s PS3 exclusive DLC, In Motion, is available now for $10. Take a trip down memory lane with classics Toe Jam and Earl and Toe Jam and Earl in Panic on Funkotron on PSN. When Vikings Attack! a PSN and PS Vita Cross-Buy title is also hitting alongside PID and Absolute Cars (in the U.S. only). Bundles are a great value, and this week we have Sleeping Dogs Digital Edition, which includes the full game as well as three premium DLC packs and also Saints Row The Third: The Full Package, which includes three downloadable mission packs and more than 30 DLC items. 18. Greetings, and welcome to my first tentative steps into the world of PSN blogging! My name is Mike Engler and I will be your guide into the weird and wondrous world of Aksys Games' upcoming PSP title, Ragnarok Tactics. The game is out on PSP today at retail and on PlayStation Network for $24.99. As one of the text magicians responsible for the game's translation (along with translator Asuka Yamataki and copy editor Karen McOscar), it was decided via a flurry of pointed fingers that I be the one to give you an overview of what the game is all about. So, what is Ragnarok Tactics? The quick and dirty description is that it is a fairly involved strategy role-playing game that takes place within the Ragnarok Online universe, complete with its familiar monsters and job classes. 19. With the Portal 2 In Motion DLC releasing today, we’d like to share a little more about its content and development. The DLC now available on PSN is a campaign designed by our team at Sixense to take full advantage of the capabilities of the PlayStation Move controller. We started with all of the great features that already exist in Portal 2. Then we envisioned Portal 2 In Motion as a new game experience (including a new campaign) built for motion control – not just the addition of motion controls on top of existing gameplay that was designed for a traditional PS3 controller. So the result is a new gaming experience that requires new thinking and use of the PlayStation Move motion controller. We’ve included a video here that demonstrates the new features you’ll get when you buy the DLC. More...
 20. You heard correctly:LittleBigPlanet Karting is finally launching today! 21. Hi everyone - Kian here from Might and Delight! I’m hugely proud to tell you that tomorrow we’re releasing our first game, our darling Pid! How does all this mix together? Our release trailer will explain how. Don't let the smooth graphics fool you! Having taken a lot of inspiration from classic platformers such as Mega Man, Donkey Kong and Metroid, we hope that your platforming fu is strong. This is a game that will challenge you and charm you at the same time. More...
 22. Today, Backbone is excited to give PS3 owners a chance to truly test their old-school arcade skills. For those of you who can actually remember having to put tokens or quarters into an actual Joust or Robotron machine, you may know this isn’t the first Midway collection Backbone has developed. But Midway Arcade Origins is the first of this generation, and it’s definitely the best ever with 31 Midway arcade games assembled on one disc. First off, we really wanted to make sure we paid proper homage to the collection’s arcade roots, so right from the main menu we included a model of the original arcade cabinet and the marquee (arcade term for the light-up game logo) for each game. In terms of emulation quality, each game looks and plays exactly the same as its arcade counterpart. In fact, the PS3’s capabilities has made it possible for many of the games to feature true sound emulation for the first time on a console, resulting in a better sound response than in any previous collection. 24. Hello everyone, my name is Ted Tsung and I am the North American Producer for Tales of Xillia for NAMCO BANDAI Games America. I’m happy to announce that we recently completed our voice recording session for the game, an extremely important part of the localization process. It’s a huge milestone for us to pass and it means that Tales of Xillia is that much closer to its 2013 release. Eight hours of voice recording across an eight week span, filled with late nights catching up on emails, proofing, and preparation for the following day. It’s a grueling process that’s both physically and mentally taxing. It’s also quite a long hiatus away from the familiarity of the NAMCO BANDAI office and home. And yet, despite all of this, it was a fantastic experience, all thanks to the support from Cup of Tea, 8-4, and the voice actors. More...

It’s been a fast-paced summer for us here at Netherrealm Studios as we zoom towards the release of Injustice: Gods Among Us. After strong showings at both the San Diego and New York Comic-Cons where we revealed new characters while also giving fans hands-on time with their favorite heroes and villains, the team is hard at work on finalizing all of the great content we’ve packed into our next fighting game. And while we’ve released a ton of content so far, you wouldn’t believe what we have in store! Building on the foundation we laid with Mortal Kombat, the team has worked hard to make sure we have more than enough compelling content to keep players entertained for hours on end.
