2. We’ll be launching four Amazing Spider-Man DLC packs on the PlayStation Network tomorrow, starting with the Stan Lee Adventure and Rhino Challenge, as well as two new packs – The Lizard Rampage and Oscorp Search & Destroy. In deciding what new content would interest fans of the game, we realized the only thing that could compare to playing as the webhead himself was to let players step into the shoes of other notable characters: The Lizard, Rhino, and my personal favorite, Stan Lee. Plus, you can also fight crime within cool retro-arcade inspired mini-games through Spider-Man’s in-game smartphone. Here’s what you can expect from each of the DLC packs coming your way. In The Lizard Rampage Pack, you’ll play as The Lizard on a quest to stop Oscorp from releasing a cross-species virus blast into the city. With your devastating attacks and speed, you can create chaos throughout the city on a massive scale, using your powerful tail swipes to rip through Oscorp guards or claw strikes to knock down the toxic towers placed around the city. The more you destroy, the more bonus points you’ll earn! More...

 6. It’s almost like this ‘Saturday’ thing happens every week. That means it’s time for the PSN Community Spotlight. For the unfamiliar, this is where PlayStation gamers tell their unique stories/experiences/thoughts, as submitted to this section in the PlayStation Community Forums. Those that make it all the way to the PlayStation Blog will receive a $50 PlayStation Store voucher. Last week we asked about your favorite PlayStation franchises, and gamer Cobrarc13 wrote in to tell us about how he grew to love PlayStation exclusives Gran Turismo 5 and LittleBigPlanet. 7. One of the key factors for a game to be successful revolves around the charisma and empathy of the lead character, a task that seems easy in essence, but which can be an endeavour of epic proportions. The first step in creating our main character was to try and think of a character who would be full of charisma, and who would have natural abilities that would empower them to move around the world and adapt to the kind of mechanics we wanted to build into the game. After a lot of brainstorming, coffee, comic reading, watching cartoons and lots of other inspirational tools, we thought that it would be interesting to play around with a small spider with big eyes that would be able to bring some “human†emotional rapport to the game. We also decided to stick six legs on him -- instead of the standard eight -- to make the character a little more friendly looking and little less creepy, as there are a lot of people with arachnophobia. See, we do care! More...
 8. PlayStation fans are no strangers to the FINAL FANTASY brand, and have continued to be devoted supporters over the series’ 25 year history. Last fall, we brought two additional classic entries in this franchise to the PSN catalog as part of our Winter of RPGs campaign. This time, I’m here to help close out summer with a bang. The list of numbered FINAL FANTASY titles available on the PlayStation family of consoles has been incredible, but alas, it has also been incomplete. That changes on September 25th, with the release of FINAL FANTASY III on PlayStation Network. Now, PSP owners will be able to experience a piece of FINAL FANTASY history as they embark on a journey with the four Warriors of Light -- Luneth, Arc, Refia, and Ingus -- as they battle to save the world from being engulfed in Darkness. A dangerous mission, to be sure; to accomplish their task, they will need an incredible set of skills. More...
 9. At current count, Kratos has decimated 23 of Greek mythology's most important gods and people. And so far, the God of War Facebook community has voted three of those from Kratos' "Olympian Hit List" (Zeus, Cronos, and Thanatos) on to our "God of War’s Top 5 Epic Moments" list. What's the trend? The most epic moments in the God of War: Saga are always when Kratos is fueled by revenge, moving mountains, and defying impossible odds to destroy any mythological super power that gets in his way. We're on to our #3 greatest epic moment -- this boss battle is arguably the grandest of them all. The word "epic" doesn't always mean large in a physical nature, but the battle at the beginning of God of War III personifies the term handily. When I think of God of War III, I always remember the first 45 minutes of the game before anything else because of this epic boss battle. What about you? I dare you to disagree with me... More...
 10. BREAKING NEWS! Persona 4 Golden, Japan’s BEST SELLING PS Vita game of ALL darn-tootin’ time, finally has a North American release date: November 20, 2012, in stores and via PlayStation Store. Did you hear that? That’s the sound of millions of Vita owners screaming in joyous union. 11. It's been a few weeks since we've had some news come out about Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time! Hopefully, you've already seen the sweet trailer we released at gamescom and are itching to learn even more about Sly, the gang and their upcoming adventure. Well, today we're happy to announce that Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will be releasing in North America this February 5th, 2013 both at retail and on PlayStation Network (that's right, day and date!). 12. Hi everyone. I'm excited that those of you who are attending Tokyo Game Show will finally be able to have some hands-on experience with Soul Sacrifice! Once you play the game, I'm sure that you'll have a better sense of the world I've been wanting to create. You'll be able to face the dilemmas, tough decisions, and the agony of choice that I've been wanting to portray in a game. I believe the TGS demo does a great job of conveying this new concept. In the trailers and interviews released so far, we've shown the game's dark world setting and shared some of the story elements revealed in the single player mode. We've also shared a few of the back stories from both the monsters and sorcerers that you'll encounter during gameplay. During TGS, I'm looking forward to showing you what the multiplayer mode can offer. More...

PlayStation Mobile is coming to a number of PlayStation certified mobile devices and PS Vita on October 3! Allow me to explain: PlayStation Mobile is a brand new platform for tablets, smartphones and PS Vita, that offers PlayStation-like experiences on a number of different mobile devices. When PlayStation Mobile launches on October 3rd, we will have around 30 titles available from a range of developers, including games from indie devs as well as our own Sony Computer Entertainment World Wide Studios. 16. PlayStation announced today that Starhawk would receive a boat load of goodies with the next Patch. Lightbox followed that up with a more detailed post outlining many of the changes coming with 1.04 as well. Not only that, as the fan base has asked for many times, we are seeing the release of a digital version as well. I did check with Harvard to clarify if Coop would be included in the Multipayer version, and he explained the two apps are either All Solo or All Multiplayer. He also confirmed the Single Player only is currently available to PS Plus users in response to a question posed on the blog. Well we have more coming as well, Commander Fury will have Andrew Weldon who is the design lead on the unannounced DLC joining us for the next podcast. Commander Fury will get down and dirty with Andrew about the new content, if there is more than meets the eye and how the DLC will work. I hear there is a truckload of DLC coming so I think Dylan may be holding out on us. If you want to provide any questions for the interview, please comment below and we will select a few of the questions for the interview. View the full article
 17. Realms of Ancient War has been in development for over two years, inspired by our deep love of hack ‘n slash games. We’ve played practically every game in the genre (including some pretty obscure PS2 games) to seek out the best ideas from the past. The rest of our inspiration comes from our designers, who came up with crazy ideas to give our title its own signature fast-and-furious style of action. Every decision was met with one simple question: “Is this a fun idea?†

Do you want to spawn dozens of huge swords from the ground? Yes!

Should the screen be covered with hordes of enemies, all bent on killing you? Oh yes!

What about controlling the minds of gigantic enemies, making them pound the crap out of their minion buddies? Hell yes!

Maybe you could ride a flashy pink pony and battle your enemies with a giant toilet brush? Uh… let’s forget that idea…

It's dedicated PlayStation fans like you that make the incredible amount of hard work that goes into making games worthwhile. You never know what reaction you will get from your work, and it seems that Puppeteer has hit the right nerve with gamers. So, when I got back from Germany, I started getting ready for Tokyo Game Show. We aren’t showing a playable demo on the show floor, but I have put together another trailer for the show. This one is longer and shows a little bit more of the story, without giving too much away and ruining it for you all. Have a look up above. More...
