Hey everyone, I’m Nate McDonald, one of the producers for EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis 2. We are very excited to be bringing this franchise to you on the PlayStation 3 platform. Right now, I’m going to give you a quick rundown of what you can be looking forward to in our demo, which is currently available on the PlayStation Store. One of our big innovations is our All-New Total Racquet Control, where you can control every shot with the right analog stick, smashing forehands, backhands, overheads, and volleys with precision, accuracy, and power. You can utilize this control system to take your game to the next level, however, if you prefer the old school button controls, those are still available to play with as well. More...

MotorStorm RC is a few short weeks away and already the competitive online cross-play at its heart is igniting intense rivalries. Here at Evolution Studios there’s been a lot of competition for the best performances on every track and we’re thrilled that gamers and journalists are experiencing this at special preview events all around the world. Ahead of getting the opportunity to jump into the competition for yourself, I’m here to give you the low down on just how online competition works with other players – running you through a short video of me competing with Zoe (Evolution Studios QA Manager, who sits on the desk across from me) as I take on her performance in a Hot Lap race. I’ve got good news, and I’ve got good news. First, the good news: Based on my recent hands-on play sessions, Mortal Kombat on PS Vita plays identically to its PS3 counterpart. That means fluid 60 frames-per-second fighting, lush presentation, and every bit of content from the console version. That includes the critically acclaimed Story mode, a full character roster, the Krypt, the works. I also tried out a series of local (non-internet) Wifi multiplayer matches, and I’m happy to report that the game felt smooth and responsive with no perceptible lag. If you’re skeptical, watch the video above to see local multiplayer -- and my hairy, hairy paws -- in action. Now for the good news: The PS Vita version adds an ambitious array of extra content, starting with every piece of DLC ever released on PS3. More...

When we first began work on Lumines Electronic Symphony, we envisioned a game that would take Lumines players through a diverse but unified sampling of electronic music. This would allow us to entertain players and expose them to some amazing music. With that in mind, we gathered together a diverse array of artists who would collectively compose our “electronic symphony.†Below is the full list of artists and songs that will make up the 34 licensed tracks in Lumines Electronic Symphony: More...

This week, the folks at Konami are excited to bring you the new PSN Release Puddle! Relying on the physics of water and other fluids (hot magma anyone?) in ever-evolving environments, you’ll need to guide the fluid flow with precision to get to the goal. While it seems like a simple concept, the gameplay requires a fun puzzle-focused mentality where you must tilt the entire environment, balancing the push of each fluid’s unique properties with the pull of environmental factors of gravity, friction, and obstacles. With PlayStation Move compatibility, and a demo available as well, Puddle is set to make a big splash on PlayStation Network. You may have seen EA’s news predicting the Super Bowl winners with Madden NFL 12. If you haven’t picked up this year’s edition yet, you can set up your own Super Bowl match yourself as it’s now available in the PS3 Full Games category. Joining it is also Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, its predecessor Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, and Mini Ninjas. PlayStation Plus subscribers will have access to a 1 hour rental of all of these via Full Game Trials as well. More...

Syndicate, as you probably know by now, is an FPS set in the classic universe first established by Bullfrog in 1993. We have taken all the great story elements from the original game – the setting, the mood, the agents and above all the chips – and transferred into a much faster-paced and visceral game. Syndicate is not just your average FPS, though. We did this by creating a gameplay mechanic called “Breaching,†which effectively simulates an agent using his embedded military-grade DART 6 chip to interact with other chips in the world – whether they are located inside objects or human beings. But it’s not all about the chips. No FPS can do without providing the player with an arsenal of bad-ass weapons, and we had access to some excellent examples to work with from the original games, fortified with some ideas of our own. You will find the usual suspects like sniper rifles, assault rifles and pistols, although you shouldn’t expect them to be anything like you are used to from contemporary shooters. Some of the upgrades you are able to get will transform these seemingly standard weapons into something else entirely: More...

When I first started dating my wonderful wife, her mother asked how I was at playing board games. Puzzled (*chuckle*) my wife answered “whyâ€? Come to find out you can tell a lot about one’s character from playing board games and gauging their reactions / attitudes to the games twists and turns. This somehow predicts their “potential spousal aptitudeâ€. I did not know that. Yippee!... Land on blue…you win! (good luck) Roll an eight…you lose! (bad luck) Flip a card...“move back two spacesâ€â€¦ start over! (no luck at all) Pure luck dictating the outcome of a game? Narts to that! Needless to say I’m not a fan of board games but I do now have a wonderful wife and kids and “a†mother-in-law. Who cares Mark?... (point taken, I’ll move on). More...

The game Street Fighter X Tekken is already highly anticipated by fans from both sides (I as a big fan of both series can’t wait!). And as it’s getting closer to its March release it’s looking more and more like the ps3 and Vita versions are the ones to have. Sony had already announced that their versions would have three exclusive characters Cole McGrath (inFAMOUS), and Kuro, and Toro (stange Sony cat things). Now they have announced two more iconic characters that we will see exclusive on the PS3/Vita. 1. Mega Man Yes the picture is right. This out of shape goofy looking version from the Mega Man 1 box art is what us ps3 owners will be getting. This is a risky move by Capcom and has caused a huge uproar from fans of the series. I have to say though the combat video of him looks like he’ll be a good enough character to play as but I (and most people) would prefer the classic 8-bit version we’ve all come to know and love. 2. Pac-Man My first thoughts when I heard this were: Pac-Man in a fighting game?*How is that…I mean, how does he…? *Now after watching the trailer I know that our little pill munching friend will be in a big fighting robot. I don’t know what genious thought that up or how that will work but from what I saw in the video it looks pretty natural. In case you haven’t seen their trailer yet here it is More...

I started at Ubisoft around the time that we launched the first iterations of Michael Jackson The Experience. Being a longtime fan of the King of Pop, I always hoped that I could experience the game on the road. With Michael Jackson The Experience coming to PS Vita on February 14th, my wish has been granted! In Michael Jackson The Experience, you’ll experience the King of Pop’s chart-topping tracks as you draw shapes and tap on both of PS Vita’s multi touch pads to the beat and choreography of the Michael Jackson avatar. You’ll play through 15 HD scenes inspired by Michael Jackson’s iconic music videos and short films, including “Smooth Criminalâ€, “Thrillerâ€, “Remember the Time†and many more, all with high-definition quality graphics. Master each of those performances and unlock collectibles and rewards, including alternative outfits and special effects. Michael Jackson The Experience will also have song-based leaderboards and an online Dance Battle mode, giving you a reason to to keep playing these classics over and over again. More...

Next up on our MLB 12 The Show developer blog tour is our Franchise mode and the improvements coming to players this year. One of our goals going into this development cycle was to enhance the trade logic for CPU teams to better mimic their real-life counterparts. In order to do so, we had to examine the current system and identify the faults to then build and improve upon it. This year we are considering more factors in each trade offer, with the end result being more realistic trades. Teams are valuing their rosters much higher this year, and they aren’t going to ship out prospects so easily, nor will they offer up too many players to fill a positional void. You’ll also see more trades that better suit the teams' current strategies (i.e. playoff push vs. rebuilding strategies). Another addition to the trades system is the interface itself. We’ve revamped the trade screen to bring you more detailed information about the players involved and the likelihood of the trade offer being accepted. All of this is aimed at providing more information to help you make sound moves. Here's a look at this feature on PS Vita. As we've said from the start, MLB 12 The Show on PS Vita will utilize all of the core gameplay features found in the PS3 version, and this is no different here! Street Fighter X Tekken's roster is already bursting with fan favorites from both sides, and today we can add two more iconic characters to the list - and in this case, they're exclusive to PS3 and PS Vita players... Two iconic mascots, Pac-Man and Mega Man, join the fray with existing PlayStation exclusives Cole, Kuro and Toro. However, both mascots arrive in altered forms to create battles unique to Street Fighter X Tekken; Pac-Man rides Tekken's Mokujin, while Mega Man references the "classic" bad box art from the original US Mega Man. Street Fighter X Tekken for the PS3 launches March 6, with the PS Vita to follow! More...
