Ever since the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/category/ps-vita/">PS Vita</a> was unveiled in January, the handheld’s dual analog sticks have promised a proper first-person shooter experience on the go. Story by: CritiKiL Great news: PlayStation owners across the country will now have the opportunity to watch every out-of-market Sunday game on their PS3. Many*PlayStation fans are huge sports enthusiasts, so adding NFL SUNDAY TICKET is the perfect complement to the PS3’s rapidly growing lineup of sports entertainment, including*MLB.TV*and*NHL GameCenter.</p>In addition to*baseball*and*hockey, PS3 owners now have the opportunity to catch football games, streamed live through their console. The*PlayStation Blog*today announced a partnership with DirecTV to offer the satellite television provider’s popular NFL Sunday Ticket service, which allows individuals to view out-of-market football games. Existing DirecTV subscribers can access Sunday Ticket on the console for an additional $50 at the start of the season (on top of what they paid for Sunday Ticket, of course) and can use their console as an additional receiver. PS3 users looking to opt into NFL Sunday Ticket without a DirecTV subscription will have to shell out a hefty $339.95. The PS3 will both show games in HD each week (up to 14) and display DirecTV’s Red Zone channel. Or you could just sign up for DirecTV and*get NFL Sunday Ticket for free, but then you’d have a bulky satellite dish to deal with. Based on comments made to*Shacknews*by DirecTV’s director of public relations Robert Mercer, NFL Sunday Ticket will be Exclusive Only to PS3,*“…at least for this season”. He also added, “We just want to work with a single partner this time around to give everyone a great experience…”. For those who are not too familiar with NFL Sunday Ticket, it’s a DirecTV-Exclusive Sports Package which offers: Up to 14 NFL games every Sunday Full HD for every football game DIRECTV’s Red Zone Channel IMO: This is a ‘pricey’ offer when we can just watch the games on our HDTV directly, but at the same time this partnership is showing ‘just how versatile’ our PS3′s are becoming! The <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/wipeout/">WipEout</a> series is synonymous with PlayStation hardware launches and so there’s a warm feeling of familiarity to knowing that WipEout 2048 is coming to <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/category/ps-vita/">PlayStation Vita</a> during the launch window. The game focuses on the birth of Anti-grav racing and the Liverpool Studio team is keen to focus on how the architecture of the futuristic city shapes both look and gameplay. I caught up with Graeme Ankers and Stuart Tilley out in the sunshine between presentations. It’s fantastic to see a new WipEout game on its way, particularly one that is looking to take the series in a new direction. The game is a brand new PSN title coming this October for the PlayStation 3. The trailer showed off a scary New Marais which has been infested by vampires, and Cole McGrath, hero of the inFamous 2 universe, has been bitten by one and has only one night to kill off the head vampire. To close out their GamesCom 2011 press conference, Sony has announced a price drop for the PlayStation 3 that will bring down the price to $249 globally, effective immediately. As there are numerous PS3 models, we’re not sure if they will all be seeing this $50 price drop, or just the 160 GB model. As we get more details on the price drop, we’ll let you know. Story by Adam Rosenberg @ G4TV.com. Naughty Dog shared the latest trailer for Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception yesterday at GamesCom. In it, we see our hero working his way through a maze of shipping containers toward a plane filled with Bad Guys. Since Nathan Drake is incapable of doing things like a normal human, he eventually boards the plane by hanging onto its landing gear during takeoff. I wonder if he got to skip the TSA patdown too. There’s nothing new or revealing here, just more increasingly over the top footage from a game that pretty much every PlayStation 3 owner will be picking up this holiday season. Hi everyone! I’m the the writer and director of <a href="http://www.unchartedthegame.com/golden_abyss/index.php?utm_source=sony&utm_medium=golden&utm_campaign=sony">UNCHARTED: Golden Abyss</a>. We’ve just released a trailer that introduces a new and important character from our story. You met Jason Dante in our <a href=" ">E3 demo</a> and learned a little bit about him: that he and Drake have known each other a long time, that they each know Sully, that Drake taught Dante a lot about treasure hunting, that Dante can be a little, well, <em>greedy.</em> This time we're introducing Marisa Chase. But as she tells Drake at one point, call her “Chase,†only her grandfather calls her “Marisa.†I don't want to give too much away at this point, but I can say this: once again Nathan Drake finds himself on a quest to solve a historical mystery which he hopes will lead to a fantastic treasure. The trick is staying alive long enough to get there. No easy task. And when Drake gets between Dante and Chase, events quickly spiral out of control. More...

Fun fact of the day: Trailers used to be shown at the <em>end</em> of a movie. Hence the name trailer. Because it <em>trailed</em> the mov- you know what, you probably got it. Eventually, the marketing people woke up and realized that no one sticks around after a film, so they moved it to the beginning. However, the name “trailer†stuck. Probably because the name "beginnier" is lamer than my 17th birthday (it involved a gluten-free cake and a Pauly Shore marathon - you do the math). Nowadays, marketing people have gotten even savvier. You can watch a trailer - <em>on the internet!</em> Now you don't have to drain your 401k watching Jason Statham punch various objects and/or people just to get a glimpse at the trailer for whatever beacon of enjoyable entertainment that’s on the horizon.
