Hard Disc Database Will Be Rebuilt???

My PS3 locked up this morning while I was in the menu screen of a game. I shut it down and turned it back on, then this message appeared. It did not give me an option not to do it.

 

So what the Hell does it mean?!! Once it was completed, it appeared everything was fine. But I was on my way to work and I really didn't get a chance to check everything out.

 

The internet is filled with different opinions on it. Also, with some people saying it corrupted their saved files.

Whatever the PS3 uses to initially boot up could have gotten corrupted some how and that was the PS3 basically automatically repairing itself. (This is a complete guess btw. =P )

Well so far all it did is rearrange my digital lists of games and all my videos got renamed to the default file name. It plays games fine. But I haven't checked my game that require saved data.

 

But I'm not too worried about that since I rarely play anything offline.

I rebuild my datal base overtime i freeze on a game. Basically it deletes all corrupt data save files messages andbmakes your.pmn faster i believe.

Maybe it makes you do it automatically if you have too much corrupt data.

Random question, does anybody else's friend list not appear in alphabetical order even when it is set to be ordered that way? I'm wondering if all of the times mine has frozen is the reason why it does that...?

Mine used to do it on my old ps3, no idea why just ment I had to go through each file and put it back into a folder ><......
