SYSTEM SOFTWARE UPDATE for PS3

Just logged off and logged on to find that there is a system update for the PS3.

Downloading it now.

I dont think it does too much. Maybe they're getting the ps3 ready for the cod4 patch.

So far I nor anybody I know can figure out what it did. A rumor said it was firmware for GTA5 prologue but then someone said it was a lie. So I'm still clueless.

 

p.s. wtf is firmware?

I have a PSP and they send out updates all the time that don't do anything special. They are usually security updates and open up the library of games to play, thats it. You don't notice anything different except for the firmware number.

Its just an update set out for patching of problems that were found.

Updates and release are for the most part failry straight to a rule.

If the update is a whole number such as 1-2 Its usually and over all and a large change.

If the update is a first decimal point, it usually is a big patch or update, Some minor changes.

If the update is a second Decimal point, its usually a small patch or small fixes. Not usually Visually changing.

 

This is the fairly general rule for most software and firmware releases.
