What to buy?

I thought there was a thread about this before, but I can't find it.

 

Anyway, I would like some input on a photo editing program. I really want to start making sigs and graphics, etc. Plus we take a ton of digital photos and videos and don't have a program to mess with them at all. This laptop came with Adobe photoshop album starter 3.2 and photo studio 5 trails. We didn't like either one. Technically the wife played with them both more than I did, but I didn't like what I saw either.

 

 

So overall, what would be the best program to go out and buy?

yea for photo editing and basic sigs yea photoshop cs3 is the latest and greatest... if you are goin to be creating your own logos and whatnot.. its always good to consider a vector based program such as adobe illustrator cs3. both of these have previous releases that maybe cheaper or easier to get your hands on. i use both for work, photoshop has more tutorials available.. so it seems.. but there is plenty of sites to help w/ illustrator methods out there...

The best thing to buy..........Beer....who really needs a program anyways, beer is so much funner. LOL

LoL Savage!! I gave up beer. (Beer belly creeped up on me. So I only drink rum now. Because it's so much better for me. ;D

 

 

I should have put this in originally. How hard is cs3 to use for beginners? I can hold my own, but the Mrs. doesn't jive with computers too well.

Well fortunately there are a lot of tutorials on the internet to help any novice out. Once you get the jist of it it is a pretty user-friendly program.
