I'm pretty computer illiterate, is there anything else you have to do after hitting print screen?

Sure, after you hit print screen it copy's it, so all you gotta do is open ms paint and paste it. If it dosnt work right away click the lil rectangular box on the left side of ms paint then right click and paste. Sounds hard, but it just takes time, remember anything worth learning is never easy.

you can also open up Photoshop or other editing programs and paste into new or existing document..if you have them

It will seem like nothing happened, but it will copy it, & you have to paste it.. you can even paste it into a Word document. (i know you guys basically said the same thing, but i remember the 1st time i tried to PrtScn, i was like wtf, what happened.. lol)

i downloaded xfire to track what games my friends are in. if you have it, you can hit "scroll lock + s" and it will take a screen shot and post it to your xfire profile. you can also retrieve them and post them other places.
