Sniper and I listen.............................every once in a while.   ;)

Below, you will find the newly UPDATED guidelines for UF Breakout tourney play.

We'd really like to see this take flight and have tried to address concerns of those who were unable to play for various reasons.

We have also sweetened the pot a bit for mutliple winners.

***You should note that ALL teams and team-formation-discussions have been removed, as they become null regarding the new Breakout set-up.  We hope this will spur a few more on to complete the 32 required teams for this tourney.

> UF: Breakout will be comprised of only thirty-two invited 3-man teams derived from up to FOUR players you may submit on your "team roster" with NO MORE than two players from the same clan occupying the same team.  All wars, regardless if you submit a 3-man or 4-man team roster, will befought by 3-men teams ONLY.  All teams MUST be comprised of at least 2 clans minimum.  This is done in hopes of helping circumvent cheating or shady play while in the company of other UF players.  All players in UF: Breakout MUST have prior UF tourney experience, be it in the tacmap tourney or the Black tourneys, and have done so in what would be considered "good standing" in the UF community.  No unaffiliated players or players outside the community of UF will be allowed to participate.

> UF: Breakout is a single elimination, bracket style tourney.

> All matches will be:

Best of 11 rounds

All rounds to be 5 minutes

All small maps, all suppression

Weapon restrictions: You are PoWs and there are weapons you do NOT have access to in this tourney.  The following may NOT be equipped or used in a UF: Breakout Tourney:  NO grenades, heavy machine guns, rockets, sniper rifles, mines, claymores or PMNs.

All maps must be played during the day.  All night-only maps from CA will be excluded from this tourney.

> ENTRY FEE

There is a $40.00 PER-TEAM entry fee.  This tourney provides a cash prize to the 3 (or 4)-man winning team of UF: Breakout

The PRIZE BREAKDOWNS are as follows:

First Place Champion: $450.00 per team.

Second Place Runners-up: $150.00 per team.

Third and Fourth Place Semi-Finalists: A set of Official UF dog tags per player.

ALL fees are to be payed through PayPal.  No other form of payment will be accepted.

UF's PayPal account is set up so that credit card payments are acceptable.  YOU DO NOT NEED A PAYPAL ACCOUNT TO SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY FEE.

Payment will NOT be accepted until teams are approved by Sniper and Undertow, and not until teams are formally invited.

***The FIRST 32 completely legal teams to sign up will receive invitations.  Applications will be closed once the 32nd legal application is approved.  Applications will be approved AS they are submitted on the UF forum.

> Each bracket of wars will progress once a week, with wars transpiring between a bracketed time frame, AGREED UPON BY BOTH TEAMS, with wars starting Friday night @ 9:00pm CST through Sunday night @ 9:00pm CST.  ANY time between those two times, agreed upon by both teams, is acceptable.  Any war NOT happening by the 9pm CST Sunday deadline will disqualify both teams.

> Three appointed UF admins will be available every war night to settle minor disputes during the wars.  As this tourney will be filled with UF-capable players, in-game etiquette problems should be minor.

> Maps for each bracket will be announced on the UF website at the start of the tourney.

> All UF creators and admins are unable to participate in this tourney as an active player.

> UF-admin GOAT will be the acting admin for this tourney on the UF forums.  As GOAT is a player unaffiliated with APC and >7< (the two clans affiliated with UF admins) players in APC and >7< will be able to participate under the same stipulations stated above as all other clans.  UF-admins from these two clans will NOT be able to participate in this tourney.

Cliff's Notes:

You may now register with 4-men-rosters.

Wars are agreed upon by both teams between the times of 9pm CST Friday through 9pm CST Sunday.

There are now 2nd, 3rd and 4th place prizes.

All small maps will be chosen on their not favoring one side over the other in regards to vantage point.

As in......."Summit" where a team is in "the fish bowl" will most likely not be added into this tourney.

All maps will be as fair to both sides as possible.

Roger that boss thank you..but with machine guns gone and smg's in play do u think that the Terr would have an advantage as far as the weapons....i think its common that the MK.48 is used to counter the F90...because it has a rather large clip....just wondering...

yeah

mk has scope, pistol grip and all kinds of attachments extra clips and some other crazy shit the F90 gets a silencer and is a close combat weapon..to counter the f90 use the hk7, hk5, or m8 they all work well. but thats just my opinion...we will get a final weapons ban shortly i'm sure ;)

Thank you Mr. Undertow and Mr. (or is it Mrs?.. LOL j/k) Sniper..

I supported this change and was hopeful that the game plan be revised, the creators put this out there and it is so great to know that at all times both the creators and administrator team value the opinions and listen to any request by the members of UF. I believed the first scenario would have worked just fine, however this tournament isn't for me it is for all of you and as such your opinions matter.

It is seldom the case where the opinions of the membership weigh in on the course of action those that administrate take. These changes were suggested, looked at and considered in full. It's the first run at this and no one is saying the creators thought of every little detail in it's formation. The many opinions generated were all within the parameters of the mindset that this was a good thing and a welcomed addition. The issues brought up were both well meant and practical. With this in mind, why not revise it? the points made were good points and by simply revising the plan they were incorporated into the scope of the game.

The sign up's have been reset. Since the basic rules were changed it is only fair that the opportunity is afforded to everyone to reconsider involvement. If you are of the mind that this doesn't effect anything then please resubmit your application or if you would like to: the reformation of teams and or addition of players is entirely up to you and your team mates.

Apologies for the need to re set the submissions but I believe you can agree it's the right thing to do.

So there it is! For everyone that went forth with the first idea please continue to support this and re sign. For those that requested some changes, your request have been considered and found to have merit. It's all up to you guys and gals now, when the 32 teams have been formed this kicks off. The sooner it happens the sooner we can get the ball rolling and get to the fun part.

The reaction to the changes... well let's just say I don't get it?

It's cool though it was always about providing more to you the members. If any are simply waiting then don't wait, sign up and by doing so you are saying you support this.. at the current point however the dismal sign ups has left the impression that this isn't something that has much promise and it's imminent demise is the likely outcome.

So there it is.. if by chance a sudden surge in sign ups occur than it still might happen, however at the current time it appears that there is simply not enough interest in the small team tournament.

Not sure on why? Entry fee? not enough incentive? too hard to formulate a team? the only UF veterans stipulation? the paypal issue? the single elimination? or the time frame and availability concern. Whatever the case, I've asked Tow to give it till the 15th and bust it if we don't have the numbers at that time.. as to if he will or simply bust it now or not is entirely up to him and sniper. If anyone would like to have a final say on this, state an opinion, etc.. then that's my reason for this post. Speak now or never. Sign up soon if you are not already and let us know you are in support of this as it appears to be headed for the chopping block. The open sign up date was not meant to mean however long it takes.. but only meant to give time to reformulate teams, that said I believe the time is drawing to a close on the sign up and without a huge increase in team enrollment Breakout may be placed pack on the shelf.

So there it is guys, gals, it's up to you the members as it as always been. Get together and sign up if you want this... if enough get it done soon than it will move forward, but the time to do so, I believe, is running out.
