For me, Socom is not, and was never, about how often map packs come out or anything like that.

The company that put out a product sold it at a price, I bought it, and in the GRAND scheme of things, I have earned back the $50 I spent on this game and THEN some with the amount of play I have put towards it.

In the end, Socom delivered to me what I wanted and expected, and in the process, I have had tons of fun playing it (so much so that people like Sniper and I decided to make Urgent Fury to FURTHER enjoy the game) and I have had the great opportunity in meeting great people in my clan (which is the first reason I log in for Socom anyway) and great people in this UF community (the second reason I log in for Socom).

After it all, I never saw the reason or help in the "comparison bitching" between two systems.

It's all personal preference, and each and every one of us are individuals with different tastes. When one of us gets fed up with Socom, there are plenty more still enjoying the game itself and the people who play it. When one of us gets fed up with 360, there are OTHER platforms out there with OTHER games and you're free to go to it.

Fact: Socom hasn't delivered "map packs" to the majority of the grabbing masses....so the grabbing masses are upset and in a hissy. That's ok. They're free to go elsewhere.....it's the people that bitch so much about Socom and the map packs and the lag and the glitchers and the lack of patches who STILL come back to play the game that I simply don't understand.

I've never once chain-complained about this game in the four years I've played it and it's WHY I still play it.

For those that always find a reason to bitch about this game, I wonder why they're still in a clan, still in a community such as this and still COMPLAINING. Life is complicated and muddled enough as it is....move on to something that you ENJOY. You know? Not calling anyone OUT specifically, in this thread or otherwise, just my thoughts compiled with the rest of yours.

I BELIEVE that, when reading the main article about the Confrontation release, it stated that Zipper will still be working on something Socom related.

I may be wrong, but something rings about that.

I have to keep wondering why they opted for an over the shoulder instead of straight third person?

I wonder if there's some good reason for it that we're not seeing yet, because otherwise, the change just seems pointless.

You could also get an official petition going.

With his sister, especially, who, as a lawyer, can APPRECIATE the power of a good, healthy turnout on a court-pressure petition, this might be a fairly viable option for your family.

You could start here in the community, and then the judge can sit back in awe at the URGENT FURY backed up by the 943 names we could start you off with.

Urgent Fury has JUST released the rules for the upcoming edition of UF called "Prisoner of War!"

We know Black II is still in its first week, but Sniper and I just got too damn excited and wanted to release the goodies now. Head on into the PoW Rules section to check out the newest installment of an ever-changing franchise. If any of you thought UF tourneys were a trying experience before, just WAIT until you get a glimpse of the new parameters set for UF4: PoW!

Many standards you know and love here in UF.....with a few NEW twists!

Sign ups will be put up in about two weeks.

And yes, even though clans involved in UF: Black II will still be in the middle of their regular season, they will still be able to supply an application to UF4 if they desire.

Very minor adjustments were made to the UF Black II rules, as some parameters have changed since Black I.

The short list is as follows. though clans should still make it a priority to read through all of the rules BEFORE walking into their first war:

Don't worry, nothing DRASTIC has been changed.

However, if you had already passed on rules to your fellow clan mates for them to follow (as you SHOULD have), then you may need to let them know of the changes.

To make it easier for you, here is a breakdown of what was changed:

> Removed wording saying Downloaded maps were involved in UF:B

> Changed # of participating teams from 16 to 30

> Changed the explanation breakdown of the 8 games inside 4 week regular season.

> Added clarification to Week 1 "Get to know you week"

> Added "Total Rounds Won" as the first tiebreaker

> Added a map can be chosen once per map mode in reference to playoff map picking

> Added Claymores and PMN mines to the banned list in a second spot to avoid confusion

> Changed information needed when reporting war on UF forums.

"Cooper" (otherwise known as Demo-Dick, clan leader for Black Cell) has been banned from this forum for using the UF PM system to lure UF clans away from the community to an as-yet unnamed new tournament.

This was the same offense that prompted Sniper and I to ban [OGC] SixxPack for.

Luck would have it that they're both involved in the same project.

Please, forum users, do not use the devices of this forum for uses detrimental to Urgent Fury.

This is WELL-stated in the forum rules.

If a tournament site is going up and you hope to populate it, then by all means do what Urgent Fury does and just let the work and the ideas attract your population. We do not go to other tourney sites to "steal" participants. Please do not perform that very practice here.
