According to Wired, much-anticipated 3D networking service PlayStation Home will launch without the option to stream videos from the PlayStation 3 hard drive. The video sharing function would allow users to screen films for their friends in their digital apartments. To be honest, we're not sure we can see the fun side of being able to watch your and other people's avatars watching a film, but it's certainly an impressive technological feat. Home director Jack Buser refused to confirm that the feature would ever see daylight, commenting only that Sony was "looking into" adding it at a later date. Fingers crossed, then.

Within the latest issue of Game Informer, readers will find a small tidbit of information that may send sales for PAIN! rocketing through the download charts. According to GI, PAIN is about to receive its cutest downloadable character yet, in the ever so adorable form of Sackboy. The magazine doesn't state when you can expect this download to pop up or for how much (hopefully the same $0.99 as the rest), but it definitely has this journalist excited. We're just hoping some gamers aren't traumatized by watching their little beloved Sackboy going flying at high speeds into amusement park rides and buildings. On a more serious note, it's refreshing to see how hard Sony and Media Molecule are working on making sure Sackboy becomes a household name before release.

Call of Duty 4 will be issuing double experience points for all multiplayer games this coming weekend, according to PS3Fanboy. The boosting period begins tomorrow and will end on September 21, so get practising for a rather hectic batch of sessions. Those of you without the Variety Map Pack will also be pleased to learn of a discounted price for the download, set to be cut to USD 4.99 for an entire week, beginning tomorrow. Infinity Ward developers have also promised to make their way online to do battle with fans, and are scheduled to hit servers on Friday between 12PM-4PM PST - get prepared for ownage. We'll be interested to see how many people make the jump from COD4 to World at War this coming holiday season. How about you?

Gearbox's Jeremy Cooke has spilled the beans on development for Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway in an interview with MTV Multiplayer, citing the PlayStation 3's intricately complex hardware as a reason for multiple delays. “In previous ‘Brothers in Arms,’ we had farmed out the PlayStation versions to other developers who were PlayStation experts,†he stated. “So we had to build up all that expertise in-house to understand that platform." Creating a title for three platforms also appeared to take its toll, Cooke continued. "There’s just major hardware differences; you don’t know if your Xbox guy has a hard drive but your PlayStation guy does, and you’ve got 8 cores on this machine and 4 and a half on this machine and some PC users have…who knows how many?†Thankfully the process of creating the storyline and game content seems to have taken a rather smoother route, and we'll be excited to get some hands-on time with Hell's highway in the coming weeks.
